  1. clicking in rear site:www.sau.com.au Copy and paste that into google. Honestly it could be anything, arms, driveshafts, diff, etc. You'll most likely have to get out some tools and have a poke around, get a big pry bar and put some pressure on all the pivot points on the arms and see if anything moves.
  2. quite common. tighten all your clamps.
  3. I'm almost 30 with zero claims, no loss of points in 5 years, park under a car port, in a suburb that has had 2 cars stolen in the last 2 years, drive around 10,000k per year. Shannons wanted $1840 for an agreed value of $15,000 Nrma wanted $984 for around 6-10,000 i forget Justcar wouldn't touch the car.
  4. deep pockets full of marbles and buttons.
  5. automatic valve body
  6. As far as i am aware through extensive research, no one has done this to their s1. I contacted the two who have done the plug mod on their s2, one originally from aus, the other from the uk, and both boxes were still going strong. Now.. I spoke to a local trans specialist who used to do work on the re4 and then grew his business and now works on amgs bmws porches etc . He was against doing these 'mods' like shift kits, plugs, these days as it puts too much strain on other components. Once you have fixed one problem, another will arise as it is now the weakest link. He went on to say that once it starts slipping with more power just buy new shift solenoids. From there you are better off buying a stronger transmission. I had my car tuned around a year and a half ago, I'm not using the retard function on gear changes and the box has never slipped once from doing this. Box feels extremely tight and shifts a lot faster than standard. I wouldn't be surprised if it could handle 50+ more kw with no problems as a street car. On std tune In 30 deg weather on throttle for about 30mins would cause the box to slip. I haven't been able to make my box slip since it's been tuned. I posted all the information and lingo used in our conversation roughly a year ago along with his workshop number as he had great prices on the solenoids. I can't find it, but maybe with some clever searching you can I am far from a trans specialist, but i took his word for it as he has seen it all.
  7. Lol what. No it's not worth gapping the plugs down on them. Most of the time it's not needed on turbocharged cars, it's mainly used when the coil packs are failing and the spark is blowing out. The bigger the gap the more spark the better.
  8. I forget. I think the cluster sensor was npt.
  9. I cut mine out as the plastic corroded over time and was playing with the electrics. As far as I am aware it's a fusible link.
  10. They're both on the top radiator neck on the motor. Next to the grounds
  11. Yep. Saw a video of it a few weeks ago, maybe a month. It's a big pos. I think joc and a few other importers have posted the video to their websites
  12. Bump.
  13. Poor mans 33r?
  14. As title states. Not looking for anything fancy. Msg me on here if you have some for sale, or any links thanks
  15. What's extremely surprising is that I only know of 2 people who have taken the company to court over fraud. Tristan with his 260 being wound back over 100k and Peter with his 34R. Seems everyone else just lays down and takes it till their black and blue.
  16. Very clean 33, nathan. You must love it to have owned it for 14 years
  17. funnily enough i have been reading about na tuning and old small blocks lately. The biggest contributor to cracked exhaust manifolds have been running the engine lean, hot. Is the exhaust properly supported? engine mounts? loose mani bolts? etc There was another bloke on here about a year ago who had gone through 2-3 standard manifolds also.
  18. I asked for back to back results on the same tune a few years ago. From memory someone did post results and they were in line with what everyone else says. The theory and results behind the plenum is almost the same as na, which is surprising. Yeah they look good and you can clean up all wiring and coolant and fuel lines to fit below it. But it's still around $400 for a useless thing. Have around $400 spare and want something to do? Go for it
  19. Welcome to sau mate!
  20. Haha you haven't had the best run with that car. Time for a stagea I haven't heard of 33's needing a surge tank. You would have gotten a new fuel pump at the time of getting the other gear, so the sock may need aligning? or a possible random voltage drop? or they've f**ked the wiring while trying to wire in the link... Can't see an o2 failing and taking out the ecu like that. That's just odd.
  21. Take it back to the workshop, tom. They shouldn't have given the car back to you like that.
  22. you'll need to clean it better before it will polish. How aggressive you need to be is determined by how bad it is. Wash, or everything in between, or wet sand with 2k.
  23. Yep, they don't seem to be working. In editing the post on the pc seems to show up the picture though.
