it actually works really well when sprayed on carbon build up and wiping it off, john. I haven't seen it used on a running car though.

No one cares about the skylines. It's the stageas people want to see. I didn't want to go this year. With over 2k people saying they were going to enter, it seemed like it was going to be chaotic. Only 277 cars entered with roughly 1k spectators. Seemed like a great day from te pictures I saw.

Need Some Guidance, Maybe Not Some, Alot. On Rb25det
Trex replied to Dev RB25's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i just unidid it with an extension from memory. no bending of anything needed, it was a pain but not that bad. -
There are a few items on the market that are an rpm switch. so will activate and de activate at set rpm. You will need something to engage vct as the rb20 ecu doesn't do it. Your tuner will be able to explain further and what is needed or what he she will do.

Will need an rpm switch to get vct

Does it to me too via the app -
Adaptronic e420d are cheaper in the long run and Tao has the best price in Australia. Msg Tao and ask him how much. The greddy is old tech and you need to buy a whole lot of add ons to get to where the adaptronic is.

My box is fine. It only retards timing at wot anyway. I don't believe the adaptronic is capable of retarding on gear changes anyway, according to Andy. And yes everything is run through the new ecu except for idle so the auto knows when it is in gear and obviously the auto control.

Very nice car last time i saw it. GLWS

"cheap Fix" For Coil Breakdown / Misfire - Oem Or After Market
Trex replied to 85URE's topic in General Maintenance
Very nice work! I love seeing new things being made and people thinking outside the box. BUT I believe if your coilpacks are arcing on anything other than the plugs, you need to replace the coilpacks as they're aged and are going to fail eventually anyway. People have been taping and using silicone on the coilpacks for years, it is a cheap and easy fix to get you around. -
Attessa (?) Pump Always On
Trex replied to blind_elk's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Have you been kicking around the footwell at all? There is a single wire connector that runs the pump if it is disconnected. Can't remember if it's yellow and black or not. -
I don't know much about that turbo. But have been in a few skylines with upgraded highflows and bigger turbos without tunes and they are slow and shouldn't be driven hard until you get a tune. Did you mark the cas before taking it off?
-
What ecu are you using? I am guessing the link?
-
I had the same problem with my tune. Bumped the idle up via the iacv and put in almost double the timing around the cranking part of the map. It helped immensely! Massive thanks to Matt for all his help!

I wouldn't be doing the mod just curious as to how it's held up over time as it's different than the ex and int types. I know a few people who have tried this with external and internal gate mechanisms, but they have all had problems.
