  1. Hi All, I'm looking to get a new headunit for my V35, however I really don't know what are good units these days. I have a short list of requirements and if anyone can suggest anything good to look into that would be greatly appreciated. Double Din Price range around $500 ipod cable that runs through glovebox, or cable for the front that will use and charge samsung phone or ipod Bluetooth hands free calling I've heard you can get units that will sync to a phone for navigation on the few times i might need it? RCA out for subs/amps later on As you can see, pretty basic requirements so i'm sure there are lots of options, i just dont know where I should start looking! Thoughts?
  2. Appreciate the info guys. Is it hard to add more cabling to the headunit after its been installed though? The guy who's doing it was going on about having to wire in the climate control and such, I don't want to have to go through that everytime, or do I have no choice?
  3. Hey all, I'm going to be replacing the head unit in my v soon for obvious reasons. I was wondering if it is worth replacing the speakers at the same time? I'm just wondering how difficult is it to remove the head unit once an aftermarket one is installed. I will be getting a pro to do the hu initially but if I want more after is it easy or a royal pain? I don't really know how good the stock system is because of the appalling standard hu. Any thoughts, comments, suggestions? While I'm on it, got any suggestions for a good hear unit somewhere around d $500 mark?
  4. Hi everyone, I've been doing some research into aftermarket cat back exhaust systems and the one thing i'm strugling to work out is how many of these systems are actually roadworthy/meet EPA requirements? I know that the Tanabe medallion is considered to be fairly low noise but does it still meet regulations? What about the Invidia or Fujitsubo? I know the motordyne sounds fantastic but surely there is no way this passes regs correct? Any thoughts? I want a new exhaust but I also don't want to be constantly worried about being fined and having to do tests etc. Anyone had issues and how did you get round them?
  5. Is this the order cable or the newer pa15-nis one?
  6. Sorry Sean, you got ripped off. I went to a local plumbing wholesalers and got two new o rings for $5 total perfect fit too.
  7. Haha, whoever said violence never solved anything was wrong! That float was jammed in good on something, but some accidentally high force got it dislodged. Then just replaced the o-ring as mine was rooted (not an easy item to find) and she's all good to go. Scott, the hose can be removed without damage, its just two plastic tabs that get pushed in and it slides off. One good strong shove to click it back in place and it's just fine, thankfully.
  8. Can't take a photo, as it is caught inside the tank. The unit keeps wanting to settle about 45 degrees round from the direction it started at, and about half an inch higher then when I started. Thinking on it further now, could just be sitting on the fuel pipe, does anyone know how to remove this? If I can get this off then I might be able to wrangle the pieces where they need to go. Worst case scenario is I remove the float arm. Do you know what sort of consequences this will have?? Will my fuel guage work with only one float level?
  9. Hi Guys, I've gone and screwed up my fuel pump unit when I pulled it out to clean the fuel level sensors. When I went to replace the unit in the fuel tank I appear to have gotten something caught inside the tank (i suspect the floater) and now I cannot get the unit to fit back in. Any thoughts on what I can do to rectify this? Can I remove the float arm at all perhaps? The car is now not drivable because I cannot seal the bloody fuel tank.
  10. I just bought the same car, black premium edition etc, but without the aero package and 100,000 kms. I paid $18,500. If they're asking $25,000 then it would want to be absolute show room condition. and at 30K I'd just bring in a V36 As always, I would be questioning a car from 2004 with only 50k on the clock. I know mine has lots of kms, but id rather own a car with a belivable higher number than an unknown wound back one. Hope that helps.
  11. Thanks mate. The car is actully more well travelled than I am, this was imported from Japan to Britan to Australia where i am the first registered owner. This is why I had the underbody fog lights cause the Brits have such horrible weather. Thankfully it was easy enough to remove as it looked like a big red pimple on it's arse, although now my high mount stop light is now not actually connected at all Actually, how are other peoples front number plates attached to their cars? Mine had a massive plastic section for the brit plates, and now the current plate does not hid the old srew holes as seen in the front pic here. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Can I get another plastic section to attach the plate, or is cutting them off my only option?
  12. The new V! Quite a step up from the old R31, and much faster... I can't believe how many people i've had already come up and check it out. I really want to de-badge it know, to really confuse people.
  13. Hi all, As much as I really like the leather on my new V, I'm looking at getting seat covers to protect the leather. I use the car daily and I'd rather have a cover than risk ruining the seats. To that end, does anyone know if the 350z seats are the same as the V? Ive found some places that can do custom covers for the z, but none for he v. Or does anyone know someone who stocks/can make the covers? I'm not looking for leather retrim or anything like that. Cheers
  14. SOLD! Admins please remove thread.
  15. Hey All, Random question i know, but does anyone know the original purchase of the v35 in Japan? I was just curious really. Also I hate my computer, thats twice now it's given me a subject thread with a ridiculous title. Cheers
  16. Hi all, Looking to finally part ways with my with beloved R31 Skyline. Car is a blue GX, 5 speed manual, has done 302,000 kms and is mod and accident free. I am looking for $2500 but I am flexible. It is in good condition mechanically, with a weeping injector, weeping diff seal and exhaust manifold leak the only problems I know of, none of which affect the drivability or hamper the long term reliability of the vehicle The body is straight but the paint is faded in a few places on the roof and boot. Shocks were replaced all round a year ago and the tyres have good tread on them. This comes with silo rims, not the horrid plastic covers on steel wheels the normal GX comes with. Interior is as can be expected for a car this age, but what I would consider minimal wear on the steering wheel and gear knob. Currently has JVC head unit with ipod cable feeding into the glove box, 2 x 6" JVC door speakers and 2 Hertz 6x9's in the back. I was planning on removing these prior to sale but they can be kept if required. The set up is great, not over the top but is more than sufficient. The car is only registered until May this year, so can be driven and tested until that time. It will not be sold with a roadworthy or reg, but I can arrange for a roadworthy inspection if requested. Other inspections are welcome. This would make a good p-platers car or a good base for a drifter. Car is located in Wantirna and I can be reached by PM or 0400 220 988, just not before 12 as I work nights. Cheers, Tony
  17. You had a Hollinger? Nice. Those guys make some incredible gear! My hats off to someone who could break it.
  18. Pics as promised
  19. Also, does anyone know how to fix the computer fart that caused this thread to be titled All??

  21. Great advice, seems to work fine now. Cheers
  22. Nah i'm an absolute orangutan with tools. I don't want to hurt the new girl! Any idea why the boot release wouldn't be working though?
  23. Hi All, I'm having the age old issue of not being able to lock the doors on my new V. I can use the key on the drivers door so it's not an issue there, however I cannot get the passengers door to lock. I also cannot use the key fob open the boot, but i know there is still some power in the key as I can hear it clicking when I push the button. Would you say this is an actuator issue? The part that makes me wonder is the boot release not working. I am happy to spend the money to get this fixed, as i dont want to leave the new girl unlocked all the time, but I need to know what the problem is first ! Does anyone know someone in Melbourne East who can look at/fix this for me? I'm no where near good enough to do this myself. Cheers
