  1. I've seen what happens if even a tiny piece of ceramic makes its way into your intake, a decent turbo rebuild kit with steel impellers will run between $400-$1000 for both if you can rebuild them yourself or you can assume like my friend did that being ceramic it couldn't hurt the engine if it goes to pieces and have a rebuild bill for over $6000 when it finally lets go.

  2. I havent had any knock problems that i'm aware of but I've only looked on the controller twice since i've had it, I live 5-6 hours from a tuner and work a 7 day roster so I havent had it tuned since i've had it but it feels like it is straining at the moment when I start to get above 5500rpms so I've been cautious over the last couple of months. I would appreciate any info on checking psi as the turbo set up is pretty new to me. I didnt start it for about 6 months straight and the battery was so flat it was thrown out, I am also wondering whether it is possible in a case like mine that the memory battery in the apex ecu could restore to default if no power was run through it for a long period of time like that.

  3. I'm not debating that Group A ended for good reason as I was wrong about the GTR's being banned, I was 9 years old at the time and remember little about the politics going on in the series. People can like supercars or live in the past as I am, I respect the fact you have a workshop with many nice cars and am not here to be a punk as I would kill for that lifestyle around cars even with the work involved. MAD02 your use of the word "fanbois"is mildly offensive and yet you don't realise you are a "fanbois"of using the word "fanbois".Good points though.

  4. I joined this site as I thought is was for Nissan GTS/GTR owners that I could share experiences/information with, had I known it was full of a bunch of hostile twonks that hate Group A and seemingly gtr's(maybe you forget without group A your Fords and Chevs may not be racing as supercars now) then I wouldn't have bothered. You all need to understand that a post count does not mean superiority and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I have a Holden and a Nissan and at the end of the day my Holden isn't in the same league as my Nissan and could not even wipe the nissans ass. That is my opinion so eat it!

  5. yeah i hadn't considered attempting to tune it myself but I would like to know what pressure I'm currently running at as I havnt had it tuned since I bought it and forgot to ask to guy I bought it off what pressure it was at.

I would get it tuned on the dyno an raise the boost pressure that way then you know its not going to lean out.if you raise it manually its not tuned for that right an might not like it a hell of alot.upto you your gtr but that would be safest id say.

  6. Okay fair enough you make a good point but I don't see why you would write "screw the GTR, screw group A racing". You can get your point across without being an as#hole!.

Group A racing was dead the whole way across the world. When will people realise the GTR wasn't banned, the entire category ceased and changed to an entirely different format. It had nothing to do with elliminating the GTR.

The fact nissan aus and Japan are allowing the Kelly's to run as a factory backed team is great. Screw the GTR, screw group A racing (as good as it was its dead and will never be back) nissan have the Altima and wanted to push the car to the public market.
I love my GTR's as much as the next guy but they are intelligible so move on.

The peak of Aussie motor racing is the V8 supercars and the category has made significant changes to appeal to the public. The reality is the majority of Motorsport fans appreciate supercars and enjoy the category. It's the minority's like the nissan fan boys and sierra fan boys that whine and bitch about it.

The cars use the body shells so they can obtain manufacture support. Infant a lot of the panels being used are factory parts.

  7. Well done their a nice car, i'm brand new to this forum to but have owned my 33GTR for 2 and a bit years now and it's awesome. Enjoy yourself but be carefully if you are trying to tune it urself unless you have experience tuning turboed cars.

    PICS :)

oh yeah, welcome to the forum =)

  8. Sorry just realised you said 150ish not 15ish forget I wrote anything.

Hi all, after selling my r33 not too long ago, im wanting another import as a project car

    Can be s14 180sx r32 or r33

Only wanting to spend a few thousand, but need to have rego approved (or even rego on it, will add extra to pay for it) under 200,000kms prefer around 150ish and need to be running and rolling.

Not fussed on body condition aslong as its not defected or has major structural issues and prefer all panels on the car.

Throw me a message on here or via text on 0422360999

    Cheers Guys :D

  9. I have an R33 GTR series 3 in very good condition appart from some as#holes debadging the boot last week. I bought it for $21000 2 years ago and I live in Pt Lincoln S.A where the roads are 2 unforgiving so If I was offered 18-19 I could let it go due to lack of use.It is white with white Enkei 17 inch racing rims lowered on I think tein suspension with Exhaust,HKS pods,APEXI FC, Intercooler, tint and cd player.Love the car to bits but the roads here are savage if you are interested e-mail me for picks and i'll try to get some compression numbers for you. It's conservately tuned and has been since i've had it at 212kws at the wheels

  10. I stopped watching after the r32's were banned, racing back then was so much more exciting with different production cars having different strengths ie, straight line speed vs cornering and I thought instead of banning the skylines they could have regulated their performance more. Bringing back a Nissan that isn't the skyline after the way they went out last time dosn't make sense to me, these cars now are so far away from being production cars I don't know why they even use commodore or falcon shapes.

  11. Hello, I'm new to the forum and have had my R33 GTR series 3 for about two years now. Cars has run well and is running a conservative tune of 212kw at the wheels. My question is how can I check the boost pressure? I was a mechanic 10 years ago and am pretty savy with engines but have very limited experience with turbo charged cars and the thought of running too lean scares me but a bit more boost I think would be nice as 212kw does not thrill me anymore.
