Ok gang.. I realise they are two different applications yet both have a similar job in mind. Just a little basic info on my mods, I have a 3" turbo back, Apexi Pod, Bleed valve @ 10psi and I'm tossing up between a Greddy R-SPL or Blitz LM front mount. More likely a Greddy R-SPL. So anyway I'm looking for a stable Engine Management unit that will be able to support around 250rwkw. My future plans are to get the turbo hi-flowed, bigger fuel pump to cope after the hi flow, adjustable cam gears to bring boost on a little earlier, adjustable fuel pressure regulator to pump those injectors so they don't max out. Your probably thinking if his doing all this why not get the PFC... well it's gonna take a lot of saving to hopefully aim to get these mods done by the end of the year (Dam poor a$$ office job) and I think once I get the cooler this will probably make the fuel system abit rich and instead of going the SAFC-2 I'd get the Greddy E-Manage. So can I have your opinions on this? Considering Greddy E-Manage is around $550 and the Apexi PFC is $1450. Thanks for everyones help!

I use the same for my Skyline. That Meguiars works like a charm!!

What do you think someone with a show car would have? Full comp, I wonder how expensive that would be.. I'm a P plater still and pay $680 on third party with Just cars, ths good thing is that I get a rating. So i'm waiting to get off my P's then see how much insurance will be full comp, by then i should HOPEFULLY be on rating 4. I made the mistake of insuring under my dads name and didnt get a rating for the 1st year, knock on wood I have been driving just over 2 years and not had an accident * Knocks on wood* =) Btw i was quoted $3500 rating 5 full comp with just cars. My car being a R33 Skyline GTS-T.

can i run engine hard when it's still cold?
|PRESA| replied to sky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It is strongly not recommended to run your car hard until it's up to proper operating temperature. I know with my kart racing that we shouldn't push it hard until the temp. is up as the piston will obviously be revving hard causing friction and in turn heat. When something heats up it expands, if the piston/ring expand and the cylinder doesn't (because it's in the process of warming the coolant/water around the cylinder) then it can cause the engine to brake. Even though you have oil lubricating the parts, if something is heating/expanding at a different rate to another part it causes problems. Espectually with turbos, as the compressor/turbine wheel heat up and expand, the turbo housing must expand with it. It's like when in bed with a girl, if you put something fat and hard into...... u get the point -
Where can I buy brass buttom clutch
|PRESA| replied to [D]RiFT^[R]'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You can call up any Bursons and they will be able to source a button clutch for you. I enquired about this and I'll warn you know they aren't cheap. For an Exedy button clutch your looking at easily $1500. However unless your planning for a drag strip weapon this kind of clutch is a pig for street driving. I looking at up grading clutch to something like a puck type clutch or twin plate. Look up www.exedy.com.au the company is based out in Keysborough so you can call them for any prices, although they do not sell direct to the public. Hope that helps -
I have had numerous problems with doridori32 he has gotten ****y with me on the forums and has got issues. He tried to sell me this short shifter for my R33 for totally different price than what he advertised for on the forums, told him I'd beat him with the bloody thing!!! Decipline is the only way!
-
KRiMiNaL - what kind of clutch do you use? I thinking of taking to the strip but I want to be confident with a strong enough clutch to hold some heavy launchs At the moment I have a Daiken Heavy Duty on my R33 GTS-T.

Haven't heard of them or anybody using one. Not saying that it's bad or anything but the Apexi AVC-R which is going at a pretty good price on the Nengun site is definately recommended. Check it out at www.nengun.com they have a full description on the AVC-R. You should also be able to find the SBC-II on there and they are very good on price I've found.

Greddy vs ARC vs Hybrid Intercooler Kit
|PRESA| replied to eXc's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Although buying a cooler off the forum or custom made may be the cheap way out (not to hang sh!t on anyone) but you cannot be garuanteed that the cooler is of top quality. For an example a friend of mine had a custom made 240 x 600 x 76mm cooler and it was good for letting off some cool sounding cooler noises but it was not pressurised correctly, it would peak at 15psi then drop to 10psi higher in the rev range. And sure you may be able to purchase a custom made for say $300 then piping $350 - $400 (I was quoted for an R33) then by the time you buy the appropriate brackets/clamps/silicon hoses there goes another $150 if not more. You do the math on that, but I'd much rather the assurance of buying a japanese made cooler that comes with everything to bolt straight in. Personally I am looking at a Greddy V-SPL from Nengun also and I was told the kit even comes with a stencil to cut out the hole for the left hand side piping. Now that tells you they have put thought into exactly what a purchaser wants! My 2 cents -
Experience with Nengun performance?
|PRESA| replied to RedEmblem's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I'm planning to order a Greddy cooler off Nengun. krawler - you said it got stuck in customs? Do you have to pay anything extra for this and do they atleast phone you or something saying that it's been trapped or whatever. -
HAHA @ Hiroshima Screamer Just sent an email to Xspeed and Unrealautosports for a quote of the crazy R33 front bar delivered to Melb. Hope it's within my range *GULP*

I love the front bar.. Might auction off my kidney 2nite on ebay

Who here has or has used a Greddy V-SPL Front mount cooler? I was told these are a decent cooler upgrade from stock (R33 GTS-T) I was looking to purchase this kit from Nengun as my budget is around $1200 I'm not interested in people's thoughts that purchasing a cooler that expensive is a waste of money... because you can by custom made for cheaper... I'm looking for proof on quality and results, within my budget. Thanks to anyone who can help

Rear sway bar on R33 GTST - worth it?
|PRESA| replied to raz0r$harP.UK's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi Sydneykid, I'm not very clever on the suspension side of things but you note the standard springs are pretty much fine for the average joe on the drag strip. What do you suggest would be a decent upgrade in shocks? And then in time what would be a good setup in springs? springs rates and all that? -
Brake fluid (yes I searched)
|PRESA| replied to dangerous_daveo's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I strongly recommend Motul RBF600. It's fairly priced about $20 a bottle, you'll need 2 bottles for a full flush and proper bleed. It's a high temp brake fluid, nice for everyday street use and pretty good on track days. -
This kind of setup that your going for, is this suited for an all round performance? Or suited for Drift/drag/circuit? I'm interested in what kind of setup would be good for either of these types of racing conditions.

[INFO] Before & After GCG Turbo Hi-Flow
|PRESA| replied to juicen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Any places in Melb that are good with HI-flows? Avo turbo wouldn't do a hi-flow and recommended me an upgrade at well over $2k I heard of some place called ATP? -
Would you say even with the butterfly flap fully open that it would still be very restrictive?
-
Wouldn't that be bad? Is it like sticking a potato in the end of your exhaust? It'll quiten it down but does it still let the gases flow through? Plus if you actually see cops and who has the time to flick a switch, I'm just thinking of excuses to get out of sh!t..
-
I was pulled over tonight and luckily that I'm a good bloke.. I was nice to the coppa and he was nice back!! Pulled my bonnet up and he saw a number of things he could d!ck me on.. but i played stupid and got off on most of it, although he warned me about my exhaust being to loud, and me being on that 12month probation thing I dont want to attract more cops.. So what can I do about shooshing the exhaust but without loosing power? At the moment I have a 3" dump/front pipe bolted onto a super hi-flow cat, bolted onto the standard 3" cat-back with a 3" muffler 4"(tip). I was thinking about putting one of those silencer plate thingy's in the muffler tip, but I don't know if that ill stuff the flow of my zorst and loose power.. anyone?
-
Does anyone sell these stickers? Thats just a stupid law.. as if you wouldn't know the direction of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and the rest of them
-
Maybe I will buy one of each but will you help me try them on?

Hi sorry I dont know if this has been mentioned yet but can you guys provide a DIY style info guide to removing fluid clutch style engine fan and how to replace with a thermo fan. I'd like to give this a go if you guys say it produces more power but I havent got a clue how,
