Sorry if this is in the wrong thread by the way To start off Ill speed this up long story short needed a new daily. Over bombs decided to look for one came across a clean r33 for a decent price and took it for a drive and really like it low kms log books And you can probably guess I bought it The only one thing I faulted it on while I test drove it was a small noise (ticking noise) on boost for a little but nothing to serious. But being on a test drive I didn't want to flog it too hard and break something blah blah. Plus I was on a public road etc Noticed it was a bit laggy but nothing to bad. Besides this is my daily now. So I can spend more on my 32 So yeah bought the car. Still does get up and go but yeah here's my issue/s Before I get into aswell I will mention its close to a dead stocker. Pretty sure it has a catback and I did notice a boost tee down the back end of the dash up near the pedals I was told the old owner was an old fella and everything seems on par. It's well looked after. Original mats in good condition Now bar those 2 things. It's completely stock. It's also auto please remember this to help determine the problem Now. When I picked it up again I heard that noise the ticking on boost But went away very quickly. Hadnt heard it again today Then today dead cold start it was doing it while on any boost at all (I don't go and boost my cars cold) but in this case I want to sus it out It went away reasonably quickly when the car warmed up more or less and hasn't done it all night once again But we did drive up to spring wood. Tonight up near the blue mountains. And it's a cold night if your not familiar with sydney. And it's damn cold up there I did give the car a fair bit up there then when I let the look out it made the same ticking for a while and was reasonably warm But eventually went away It does sound like a gasket leak but I've never heard or experience one that went away? Sounds more like its coming from the passengers side and you can hear it in cabin with the windows up That's problem one Problem 2. It has a little boost guage. When I really boot into it, it will drop back - few gears start revving hard. The boost guage shows 9 psi and the car sounds like shit So being worried of engine noise I locked it in 2nd and gradually built up revs with no boost if you get me and the motor sounds healthy revs great etc So I tried easing into boost in 2nd. And it runs great around the 6-7 psi mark and being busy with driving couldn't see if I got it to 9 that time but yeah surged a bit with the boost like pull then it would cut out then pull again But driving it this way the car makes heaps more power and doesn't sound so uhhh dying pulsar like its very hard to explain. Not to mention as well when it drops back really hard it just revs no boost. For a while it says I'm cranking 9 pound once again but not moving So yeah not sure what I'm looking for I'm sure ill figure these problems out on my own in good time but figured IDE see if you guys could cut my time Not to worried if the turbos on its way out I can just give it a hand me down off my 32 But any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Thankyou for your anwser it pretty muchs covers all areas of my questions And yes the light was a result of low fluid. I topped it up. Then again the light came on. Topped it up a little more the lights out has been out most of the night Now here's where my problem gets hairy I was out tonight (and am still out) I won't sugar coat it. I went to lay some donuts now the steering was all funny and it wasn't as it normally is (no stress helis) It was trying to fight me So I did the smart thing and left as I was driving it the car started crab walking again really bad. We were basically on a 45 degree angle it felt like whole we were driving straight along the road. After I started braking it straightened up now it was doing this but not at 80 kms more like 60-70. And anything around these speeds For instance one time I turned a corner there arse end would move left to right Could this be faulty hicas?

hey guys sorry if this is in the wrong section but i assumed handling is close enough to steering my dilemma is 1. i cant find a straight anwser on my actual hicas question and 2. i need re assurance now i hear everyone deletes hicas pretty quickly bought my first 32 and noticed the hicas light on after hearing things about the car like its setup for track and what not i would assume it was deleted but i checked the power steer level and it was very low. i havent topped it up just incase he did a delete and ran low oil i dont know but yeah didnt think to much of it my questions lie here what is better a hicas lock bar (off ebay or anywhere someone will recommend a good one) or a cusco or driftworks eliminator? with the seperate rods will there be any play with either? when i jack my car up there is a little play and i assume that the hicas is still there after topping up my fluids i noticed the light gone straight away i did see the hicas computer in the boot one day im pretty sure all wires intacts next question how do i know if the hicas is actually working ? and was it working when the fluids were low as the car hasnt changed i will say it steers pretty tight but maybe thats just the car. first 32 ive driven. ive tried doing the diagnostic but it didnt make to much sence i did it in my yard. i started it turned my wheel 5 times left right left right left pressed the brake 5 times moved forward slowly about 5 - 10 metres no effect (remember light was on from low fluid) have i missed something? tried driving along looking in the mirror thru roundabouts cant really tell but i did do some heave steering thru a mountain pass last weekend and the steering felt funny afterwards like mt centre point was constantly changing i would have the wheel in a straight line (yellow marker at top) and the car would start to veer and steering would lighten up one way then stop and ide be about 20-40 degrees off where i was is this hicas playing up? or just wheel alignment any help is appreciated main question is are the lock bars as sturdy as the eliminator kit with proper seperate arms and the other main question if i buy the cusco if its better and its adjustable is it to hard to adjust? $70 seems alot cheaper then $300-400 im just wondering is it even worth the cash. (drift is the cars intended purpose with me. weekend cruiser/drifter)

Ok so after not really getting any clear information of my friends I tried playing with profile 1 and 2 as 3 and 4. Seem to work fine. Running just under 10 psi I tried doing the opposite. And working back from the highest setting. Still over boosts The gain cannot be adjusted. I notice when I set my desired duty cycle it makes a funny noise in the engine bay. If I set it on 10 or close to like 11 it's a very short noise. But it is continuous if its 20 of over Could it be possible that the controllers just shagged?

Ill break it down in short When I go to "change" the duty cycle by holding button 1. While I'm in profile 3 and 4. It still shows 10. But profile 1 and 2. Over boost while also set on 10 Other issue is when I hold button 2. To adjust gain. It flashes 00.0. And neither button does anything Also I think it's just an ibc. Not ms. As it doesn't go up to 50 psi. And only has 4 profiles not 6 This is the one I believe I have http://www.gizzmoelectronics.com/pdf/IBC%20Instruction%20Ver1.06.pdf

Yeah I figured. I didn't pump the car etc I'm fairly mechanically minded and have built a couple of cars in the past but I've only ever used mechanical boost tees and the old hpi controller which was adjustable by the knob and worked the same (although it was horrible) Basically one I seen it pass the 14 mark (where I thought I had boost set. But Aparently I set the duty cycle) I backed off as I knew it would over boost. Also only had it in 4th with hardly any throttle Haven't touched it since until I can sus it out properly Anyone on here could direct me in how it works Or possibly meet somewhere in the campbelltown - Liverpool area ( I'm heading out to Liverpool mega centre Krispy kremes now) Or a southern highlands person like me Let me know. Keen to make a few more friends with skylines

Hey guys First time I've decided to join the page as I actually have a skyline now. Finally.... Only took 20 years Anyways Here's my dilemma. Anyone who has the same ebc could really point me in the right direction Not sure if there are different gizzmo ibc's but I looked up a manual and seems pretty bang on I have a 32 gtst and its running around 10-11 point on both setting 3 and 4 now these were preset by the last owner Setting 1 and 2. The first one has no boost pressure flash when you select it (showing max boost). 00.0. So as guessed. It over boosted on these settings I had a fiddle around with the duty cycle (by holding in the top button). No help. Cracked 21 psi at one stage. I know I know. But it's kind of hard to do it while the cars just taking off into the sky's So I figured ill hold the top button on the 3rd setting (showing 10.8 max. And whilst driving a max of 9.8. Which is odd) and the duty cycle was 10 aswell but no over boost? Maybe this just shows 10 every time you enter this mode? Well the 4th setting shows a max of 11psi. I'm getting close to that on te guage. But on the gizzmo says I'm getting around 9.6. Possibly because the guage may be somewhere else in the engine bay. Which would make sence And I do notice the pressure drop ever so slightly sometimes (possible leak I guess) remembering I've only owned the car a week cut me some slack I will go over everything when I get the chance. Also when I hold the bottom button to set the gain. It flashes the 00.0. But neither buttons do anything So what do you gues think this could be? Any help is appreciated And hope to meet you guys soon on a cruise or meet up
