Hi, Thought you might be interested in this info. I rang GCG turbos (really friendly people and easy to talk to) to get a quote for a high flow rebuild on the RB25DET standard turbo. Here is what they told me: They replace the standard ball bearing, replace turbine and compressor wheels with higher flowing steel items. They also machine the housings to suit. They do two different trims. Stage 1 costs $2,200 and they have been able to get 225RWKW, stage two is $2,450 and they have been able to get 257RWKW. In stage 2 trim the tuebo was running 25PSI Boost. They also told me that Garret GT series and HKS GT series turbos are not rebuildable. The GCG rebuild retains it's rebuildable qualities and comes with a 12month warranty.

4WD's, turbo's and Rotaries, all too competitve to the V8's so they are now banned from racing. As much as I enjoy watching bathurst I think a two make racing series is a bit boring.... I'd like to see other manufacurers in the race, doesn't mean they have to allow turbos etc back they can still all run V8's but allow other body shells and manufacturers to enter...

You can buy the full arcade machine from highway.net.au games corp in Newcastle NSW. Retail is $7,500 though....

I don't see a reason why you couldn't do something like this. The question then is where are you going to hide the spare wheel? I have a dual 12" sub setup in my boot. If you choose the right sub the boxes can be small enough that the setup fits comfortably between the strut towers leaving plenty of room in the boot for other things. I had my sub box, a welder, a mid sized PC tower, heaps of metal, some PC speakers, keyboards and other stuff in my boot and still plenty of room left.... As bass is no directional I don't see a problem with having a sub on the side. As long as the box is made right then the setup should be good.

How to give the 'line that "jap" look

Japlish stickers are the key here I think -
On a side note does anyone know how far you can take an RB25DET turbo on a high flow rebuild? What sort of power could you expect from a maximum performance rebuild of one of these guys?

Most appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry I don't have a pic to post. This car was sold about 3 years ago now... The paint job was not done at Vision...

RB20DET ecu pin out diagram
A31_Cefiro replied to S13 Silvia's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Does anyone know which connector on the EB20DET ECU is the O2 sensor signal connector? Does it have a different name for this diagram? Maybe Exhaust Gas sensor (rear)? Thanks, -
IJST8U are you from Central Coast NSW as in Gosford? The coil packs are found under the cover on top of the engine. They are directly connected to the spark plugs. Remove the nice looking black cover from the top of the engine and they will be revealed. Not hard at all even for non-mechanical people like me

Super Squigee controller ??

It's the indicator that shows your seatbelt is not plugged in. (couldn't think of a better way of describing it) The reason you don't have anything connected to it now is because you have aftermarket seatbelts that were fitted so that your car would comply to Australian Standards. If you look at the seats that get sold in import wreckers you will see that the seatbelts have a wire and plug coming from them

I would have thought that with a T3 flange they would have bolted to the standard manifold?

I like to be secretive... *chuckle* Ok, OK I'll just post it.... even though it was much more fun pretending I was popular getting PM's... I'm asking around the $500 mark for the pair of seats. From what I know standard Skyline seats are intgerated into their rails. It's not hard to remove the seats and get to the rails and they can be put together and used again later but the seats are not functional without the rails. The seats are unused and were intended to be put into an RX7 series II before my mate traded it for a Mirage, but that's another story. they have four bolt holes on the bottom to which you bolt them to the rails. If you look at the Skyline seats they are a similar arrangement (from memory as I've only seen the seats once) but due to the backrest being integrated into the raise/tilt design you must remove this whole assembly and make up brackets from scratch. Which wouldn't be too hard if you have any metalworking skills and equipment. If you want to cut the standard seat apart then the standard mounting holes could be used with the tilt and height adjustment mechanism being retained. this may make the seat a little high though.... That's about the limit of my small knowledge. -

Choose the BOV you like the sound of best. It's your personal choice when it comes to sound. If your talking technical merits of each BOV then I have no opinion or knowledge on either BOV...

That's because the Calais engine was a Nissan and the Supra is Toyota powered *chuckle*

Yep, compare it and let us know what you find. The A/F meter just reads voltage ranges. There was an article on autospeed about it when they built the jaycar kit. To work out which wire is the signal wire on the O2 sensor I've been told you use a digital (not analogue) multimeter on the wire and whichever wire fluctuates is the wire you need to connect it to. The S-AFC instructions list the air flow signal pin in drawing N-4A for an R33 with RB25DET made before 96. It does not list a pin number though. S-AFC wiring diagram can be found at: http://www.apexi-usa.com/productdocumentat...s_safc_wire.pdf

Have a listen to the Supra's external Type R wastegate sound file located here: http://www.usual-r-suspex.com/usual_suspex.htm It's about 3/4 of the way down the page, under the photos.
-
I think the sound you are after is an external wastegate venting to atmosphere sound.

Latest High Octane video (number 3) has a Skyline GTS4 they put the RB26DETT into and they high flowed the standard turbos. There is a steel wheel shaft that is two sizes bigger availbel to us according to the video anyway.....
