  1. was it modified by the prev owner or straight from the factory with RCA cables?
  2. does your V spec come with the MFD that has a TV button?
  3. thanks for clearing that up =)
  4. while its nice to have deep dish, flushed wheels... wheels that stick out, IMO look weird. btw anyone knows what a good offset for 19x9.5jj wheels to be on the BNR34? also, if the overall diameter of the wheel + tire is close to stock...is it legal?
  5. hi all anyone knows which version has the TV button by default? does the V spec II nur's MFD has it? even better...does the nur's MFD have video in wires already?
  6. yes u are right in mentioning abt exhaust flow feeding the turbine. however there are some real life physical limitations to consider.... exhaust flow and ability to compress air is not infinite nor are they linearly proportional throughout. there is an optimal amount of exhaust flow for every turbo such that once u exceed it, even if u give the turbo more exhaust, it can only spin that fast and compress that much air. thus ppl go experimenting with hybrid turbos... switching and swapping compressors and turbines. hope u find that sweet spot with the compressor and turbine for your purpose
  7. i think its better to be more conservative as ur engine internals are still stock. the harder u push it, the more u shorten the lifespan of the engine. my personal opinion is...why not do up ur engine first (conrods, head studs, valve springs etc) and while u're at it... change the oil seals etc too. Once u've made ur engine relatively bulletproof, u can push it however hard u want and still have peace of mind.
  8. I think i read somewhere that we can go get it tested after installing the exhaust where they test for emission and sound rite? if that one pass...surely the cops wouldnt be THAT anal to book u if u have something to show that it was already tested? also... are they crazy? stock exhaust and still book u?!?!? but i take it that u can contest it right?
  9. single plate clutches because of the very nature that its just one plate..need harder springs to hold the power thus its heavier. Twin plates and so on increase the friction area by having multiple plates which engage progressively thus the springs can be lighter. however, once they engage, they engage. there is hardly any biting point. Have only used ORC before so I cant comment on other brands...but I love the ORC twin plate
  10. thats a relief.... sort of. are there legal aftermarket exhausts for the BNR34?
  11. erm... from my limited knowledge on the RB26... the stock twin piping is fairly simple compared to say a Supra's or a RX7's and u can replace the turbos with silghtly bigger ones which will give u damn good response and power.. most ppl go for single setup because of the huge power and big single turbo that cant fit in the existing space. so IMO going for single but yet small turbo...wouldnt really make much sense rite? remember.. for single turbo, u are feeding 6 cylinders...and not 3 now. =)
  12. IF i'm not wrong .. it may be some charcoal canister thingy that helps release pressure from the fuel tank and at the same time removes the fuel smell... seems familiar to what I had on my 180SX stock set up before I removed it.
  13. erm...but can we get it approved? same as with the jasma exhaust?
  14. this one http://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product/exhaust/muffler/stm/index.html not THAT loud...just slightly more than stock?
  15. thanks Static u mean exhaust system with jasma cert doesnt require the engineering cert?
  16. IMO, selling the parts separately can get u more $$$ but it'll cost u time and $$ to find the stock parts and to find buyers.
  17. looks like its much safer to stick to a trustworthy importer and slowly search for your dream car than getting one from a dealer.. its blasphemy how these people are treating the skylines...
  18. if the engine has been rebuilt then maybe 35,000km sounds legit... but surely he could have strip and sold the parts for more? 10 grand for a 512HP skyline? hmm..
  19. Hi all, Am new to the Australian modified car scene. I've tried searching but cant seem to find a clear direct answer and some are in bits all over the internet. So here goes...(with regards to a BNR34) Which of the modifications below needs an engineering cert? and if so, can we like do all together and then get an engineer to inspect and save $$? - 19" rims with 255/35 tires - ganador side mirrors - carbon trunk - carbon gt wing 1710mm - aftermarket tie rods, lower arms, traction and camber rods etc - strut bars - sway bar and end links - gauges mounted on the A pillar - body kit - front wide fender (nismo Z tune) - turbo - turbo outlet - front pipe - high flow cat - cat back exhaust with jasma cert - radiator - intercooler - coilpack cheerio guys!
  20. hi all, am new to the car/mod scene in aust..so just wanna ask... does your insurance premium vary with the type of alarm you have and/or whether who installed it? also.. am not familar with this mongoose alarm.. been using Viper for the longest time and I love... so would the Viper 3303V be sufficient? cheerios
