What Is The Power On The Non-turbo R34 Gt-t
kralster replied to alex1991s's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
It would just be called a GT not a GT-t The "t" denotes the turbo charger they have 147kw in 2.5 litre guise and 114k in 2 litre versions. Hope it helps !!! -
They are both very different cars. I have a 34 GT-t and my friend has a S15. They are both fantastic. The S15 is more of a true classic sports car. You sit very low it in. It's light, short wheelbase. Just a classic sports coupe. The GT-t on the otherhand to me is more like a Grand Tourer. Big car, you sit like you would in a normal car. Big torquey engine. And it handles bloody well as well. I always wanted an R34 so thats why i choose it over an S15. No matter which one you get though if your unhappy you'l need a smack over the head

I had 5 people in my r34 2 door once including me. It wasn't the worse thing in the world. The person in the rear middle seat had to duck there head otherwise they would hit the roof. And myself and the passanger next to me had to have our seats a fair ways fowards so they had some leg room. Which made it uncomfortable driving being so close the pedals and wheel. In other words it can be done. And when your car is full of chicks it can be quite injoyable.

No Reverse Gear 32gearbox...
kralster replied to GTAHHH's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well 76,000 km in 15 years equals just over 5000 km a year. So take that as you will as regards to genuine millage. I wouldn't trust and imported car from japn in regards to the millage unless i bought the car brand new and saw every mile tick over on it. -
There is a RB20DE Neo which can be found in the 4 door bottom of the line skylines. And the only turbo one in the GT series is the RB25DET Neo.

You've got one problem that i can see, You say all 4 have 160 compression. That could be a problem as it's a 6 cylinder car.

Diff problems in R34
kralster replied to kralster's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
It's just at a local tyrepower at the moment cos i'm from a small town. I need to take it to a dealer who's actually dealt with these cars before. -
Diff problems in R34
kralster replied to kralster's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah they say they can move it from left to right when it's off the ground. any place recommended in adelaide. -
Hey i really need some help from some of you guys. I just got my car back from a service and it turns out that the right rear wheel can be moved from left to right. It's the actual right hand side drive shaft. Any help would be really appreciated as to what the problem is and if it can be fixed or if i need to be looking at a new diff. Thanks

Umm i find that my stock R34 GT-t eats even brand new SS commodores. So i don't know how you'd think the old aussie made v8 is comparable to the rb25det neo engine. With the boost thing it's not bad really theres plenty of torque down low compared to the old non neo engines found in the r33's. So yeah. The comment about the power being like the old 5 litre engine though has left me dazzled.

My only problem is my fuel guage is weird. Sometimes it works and other's it doesn't.

Hey i had to get new suspension on my R34 and as it was under warrenty they would only let me get genuine nissan parts and it was 250 dollars for each shock. I didn't need new springs. So all up it was 1000 dollars for all 4 corners. Remember those are genuine nissan replacements though. Hope it helps.

In Japan they aren't allowed to sell motorbikes i think over 500cc direct from the factory to the dealers. They have to first export them out of the country and then they have to be bought back in to Japan. i Know it sounds crazy but it's true. The only think i'm not sure on is the capacity limit they have. I think it's 500cc. So your better of just buying an R1 here if thats what your after. And australia seems to get bikes pretty good. In america and europe they have much stricter regulations for emisions and design rules. For example on the ZX-10R they have the indicators intergrated in the fairing on them for australia but in america they have to be on a stork like most old bikes. So yeah don't bother, unless your after something unique.

Customs Notice on car parts $220?
kralster replied to Reedy's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
What a stupid statement. It's there to protect the jobs and livelihood of millions of Australians. It makes sure we are competitive with our products. It protects industy. Well at least i got a laugh out of your moronic comment. -
My motorbike helmet was over 1000 dollars. It's a Shoei though.

R34 - Differences between Series I & II
kralster replied to OzanMakinaci's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Series 2 R34's don't have a lockable glovebox unlike series 1 ones. Also series 2 seem to have colour inserts on the steering wheel the gearknob. -
R33 S2 vs R34 GT-T.... from a driving perspective.
kralster replied to TommO's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yeah i chose a 34 over a 33. Just a newer car, better chassis, engine and all that. i had to stretch my budget as well but it's worth it. -
Why are R34's so expensive?
kralster replied to nuffsaid's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yeah i paid 35,000 for my 2 door manuel with 42,000 k's on it. So yay. -

R34 GT-T V's R33 GTR Pros and Cons?
kralster replied to Darren_lateshift's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
It's true i can dig up the article for you. I believe it was in a wheels or motor mag where they took 3 cars on a drive up and down the great ocean road. And it has a small boxout about the r32, 33, and 34 gtr's and their evolution over time. I'll have a look for it and hopefully my dad hasn't thrown it out. -
R34 GT-T V's R33 GTR Pros and Cons?
kralster replied to Darren_lateshift's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Well gtr's are a little more complex than a gt-t so i guess things like servicing would cost more as there's more to inspect. There's more to go wrong with them with the complexity of the 4wd system and twin turbo setup. They are tuned more highly so they wouldn't last as long in terms of wear and tear. Just look at the old BMW M3's they had lots of problems with the old models with engine damage. The engine was making such incredible power they were tuning them very closely to full potential, which meant they had more chance to have things go wrong. And don't say beemers are crap cos i'd take a new m3 over my gt-t anyday. And it would outhandle any skyline. And other stuff. I think the running costs of my gt-t would be less than a gtr. -
R34 GT-T V's R33 GTR Pros and Cons?
kralster replied to Darren_lateshift's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yeah i went the GT-t as well. Just a newer car, better chassis, in the gtr versions of r34's the chassis is 150% stiffer than that found in r33 gtr's, so i guess the GT-t would be stiffer as well. The quality of build in the GT-t is better imo. Just looks alot fresher then the R33 which first came out in 1993. There's just something i love about my r34.
