hey, what's the tolerance level here anyway? 2-3? and how accurate are our speedometers? They are generall optimistic right? Like when they show 80, you're actually doing 78 or something like that.
-
really easy to do. just unscrew the two bolts that hold the rail together and then pull up and out. easy.
-
it isn't hard at all. just be careful not to break the top part cos it's brittle and you can break it while taking it out. it's easier if you can pull out the steering and lower it down if you have a tilt and telescoping steering wheel

The convex mirrors are better at eliminating blind spots and the distance judging thing is easy if you're used to it. it's even harder for me to judge distance with these flat ones. You said it's a part of compliance. I hear that it's no longer necessary. Is it true? That you can have driver side convex mirrors?
-
I guess all those skylines have been converted to comply with ADR's. All those that I've driven outside australia and almost every other car I've driven have convex mirrors. I just don't get why you want a flat mirror for the driver's side. Yeah I just have to get used to it.
-
Why are ear view side mirrors in Oz flat? I just got here and have a difficult time adjusting to it. Whereas all the other cars i've driven have a bigger field of vision with a convex mirror. I'm talking about the difference between a JDM mirror and the ones you have here.

it's for a 94 Pulsar hatch. Not sure what type of pump cos I haven't taken it out yet. It just siezed one moment and got started again when it was hammered. I've had experience fitting toyota pumps onto my skyline before so it should be alright. As long as I can get a 12v submerged fuel pump.
-
Hi, I just got here to canberra and I need to get a fuel pump for my finacee's pulsar. I'm going to change it myself so I need to know where to go to get it and how much I should expect to pay for it. thanks. cheers!

obviously mine won't change from US to international stepping. It starts from 87.5 to something I can't remember what. So I guess I'm damned. But fitting a band expander only extends the band right? not the steps? Maybe if I just expand by just 0.1. Tough luck I guess. Thanks for all your help.

Hi, I just bought an Sony CDFX-5705 MP3 CD player from the states. The problem with it is that it will only tune with increments of 0.2 mhz or whatever FM uses. So it starts out at 87.5 and will only tune odd decimal frequencies. I want to tune to a station at 89.0 FM. I can only get 88.9 pr 89.1. What do I do? Anybody has any way around it? thanks

Hi, I was coming back from work and while sitting at the traffic light, i saw alot of white smoke from the back of my exhaust. Like those things you see when a Formula1 car's engine blows. So I stopped it right away and then started it again after a while. There was less smoke and the car seems to run fine. After that I got out, reved it, no smoke whatsoever. Drove around abit. all fine. Then the smoke started again. Not as much but quite a bit. More than those cars with worn rings. Then it'd go away completely again. Then it'd come back. Checked the oil. No grey smudge to indicate a blown gasket. Checked the water in the radiator. No oil there. What's confusing me is that it was fine all along and then it'd go away...... then bam! But it doesn't seem to affect the car's drivability. Any ideas? Thanks

the search capability would do wonders!!! I've tried omnipage before. Try Abbyy software. It recognizes characters better than omnipage in my opinion.

you the man. Thanks!!

awesome! thanks dude. You the man!

He said that's probably because the cable hasn't been tested on an R32 skyline. Cos it's was made for Z32's. And he's asked me to send it back so he can give me one that's already tested on skylines.
-
Ok, I checked the consult port is connected to the ecu. I tried connecting to the ecu itself. No luck. The USB/Serial adaptor works by the way. Tested it with a serial mouse like you said. No, haven't tried it on another car yet though. Don't know anyone else who owns a skyline.
-
Tried the serial mouse and it worked. I tried the scantech software as well. So I guess I should return it eh?

Hi, My car would be hard to start when hot. It's fine when cold. It'll only need to be cranked once. But when hot and hasnt' been started in a while it'll need a few revolutions before it'll start. But once started, it's easier to start again. Could it be the fuel in the fuel line being drained? Thanks.
-
I have scantech so I'll give it a go. Thanks for the advice. Hope it works.
-
how do you know when you're receiving garbage or nothing at all? I was going to ask someone here to build an interface for me but couldn't find the IC's. Just my luck eh?
-
Same problem with mine. Tried the free conzult. No go. They said they'll change the interface with the tested ones for R32 RB20DET's so I'll give it a go. Just a problem with having to send it over 5000 miles.

I am using the right COM port. It's COM4 for my case with the USB/Serial Bridge. No, I can't get the ecu serial number. No active tests or anything. Just doesn't connect.
-
I got the adaptor they were selling and said was working with their system. IT's $35 a piece. Maybe I should try on a laptop with a COM port eh?
-
PC to ECU Interface I just bought Blazt consult interface. But I can't get it to work!!! My laptop doesn't have a COM port so I'm using a USB to Serial bridge they sell along with the cable. http://www.hand.co.nz/300/interface/ I'm using DataScan 1.4. I've checked the continuity of the consult port to the ecu they are all working. I've set the software to the port i'm using. I plug it in to the car, start the engine and click on CONNECT on the software. Nothing happens. But.... if i connect and then turn on the engine, the progress bar at teh bottom gos up a knotch or two. IF I wait, nothing happens further. I turn it off and then on, it goes up a bit more. I did it till it gets full and then it restarts again. Tried teh free conzult as well. Didn't work. Need help here. Please!!!

Thanks a bunch. I found the sensor. I used FAST to locate it. It's behind the condenser or whatever you call it behind the glove box. I couldn't get to the sensor without taking it out and having to regas it so I just cut teh wires and put on a resistor. Not sure if it's the right value. Can anyone point out to me what the diagnostic shows when you run it in mode 5? Mine shows 24.5 for the refrigerant sensor now. So it's working but not sure if it should be that value. Thanks
