    I have one left on my block. The one straight down the middle of the thermostat housing. A real little one. I fear this one will push in and be EXTREMELY difficult to get out. As some times welsh plugs dont spin they just push in no matter how you hit them.

    I think most people remove/disable it because of play in the rack causing an "uneasy" driving feeling.

    I just pulled all of them off my block. Its on a stand though so alot easier (i fear for your sanity when you do the task!). Hit them off center so they spin, or if they do what a few of mine did and actually go into the block just get a nice grip with some combo pliers and yank the mofo's out. Next question, how do they go back in? just tapped in?

    In the zoom write up on their RB26 rebuild they welded and machined the crank to fit the R33 pump surface the same as the R33 GTR crank. Would this be an idea?

    Does this rule the apply to the N1 oil pump as well?

    Can i ask your reasons into this? As i was looking at O-ringing the block as i heard metal head gaskets have a tendancy to leak?

    I take it the rb25/20 covers dont fit on the 26? what about the front cam cover?

    Sounds like an interesting project. Im no certified engineer, but i might have a stab at it when i get some time. Even just a basic design for someone else to have a look at and throw ideas at.

    My thoughts exactly. And damn NZ does have cheap cars. Mate just got back from there and said they drive his car (legacy GT wagon) like commo's over there. Oh well

    you can use the existing 4WD sump from the RB20 but need an adapter plate such as what (formally S13drifter) sell's whoich bolts it to the RWD pattern

    i beleive you weld it so there is no exhaust gasses bypassing the exhaust wheel except throught the external gate.
