  1. yeah ive got both, but my engineer still knocked it back, gonna ring some other engineers tomorrow and see if any will do my cage and battery...
  2. yeah hes being full strict, I dont really want to go to another engineer tho, hes passing my cage with minimal fuss.
  3. dude did you even try looking? google > ca18i ecu pinout > im feeling lucky. lol and yes I am one of those tosser from ns.com
  4. Hey guys, Im after a sealed battery box, whitworths, battery world, supercheap etc only have the non sealed types. Im wondering if anyone knows where to get a sealed box from. battery has been relocated to the boot but my engineer is saying even though I have a sealed battery I need a sealed box that vents externally, incase someone replaces the battery with a non sealed type in the future.
  5. I was in the same boat, I was tossed up between a skyline and a 180, for my price range I could only pretty much get a stock 32 or a 180 with minor mods. then a widebody sil80 with heaps of mods popped up on auction for 11-12k and I fell in love, never looked back.
  6. hey mate, can you get pics of the targa in black and a forza in blue/black? im interested but deciding on colour.
  7. yeah ive heard and seen pics of many accounts of this happening. HKS F**ked up....
  8. yeah I got my car through them, very helpful, also my mates dad bought a 4wd through them. Id recommend them. Define "pear-shaped"? I had a mechanical inspection done before purchase, and j-spec organised that for a small fee, cuts down the risk abit. My car was dented in transport tho, but that was the shipping company KIWI's responsibility, and ive claimed through them, and no matter who you buy with its going to be shipped via KIWI anyways.
  9. its good that someone else thinks the restrictions are a good idea. when I was 17 I had a monaro and yes I did crash, it wasnt too major, but it could have been. It was due to inexperience, not me not being able to handle the car. the time the restriction applies is so short anyway.
  10. I got my battery today. also left a positive trader rating. thanks Jerry.
  11. a question about the boost controller, I dont know if its been answered yet and I dont feel like reading 17 pages at 1am so... as the boost controller runs off duty cycle, when the ecu detects knock and jacks up the fuel, the boost controller will perform incorrectly due to the higher duty cycle right? what effect would this have and is there a way to counter this?
  12. f*ck it, my air con doesnt work anyway
  13. yeah mythbusters leave alot of stuff out of their research. I would only beleive those clowns if they prove something occuring is possible. Ie confirming myths, rather than busting them its a fun show to watch tho.
  14. havent named mine yet, im making her earn it. my mates colt was called the beast, cos I had a monaro at the time and it went "what car are we taking?" "the beast" then hed get in the colt... :chairshot
  15. I'll help you out abit then. aquamist make nozzles specifically for water injection http://www.aquamist.co.uk/sl/plist/frm-4.html if you scroll down to nickel plated water jet and click the red arrow beside itll bring up a page with flow rates. also on their site is a link to MRT, their Australian distributor CAPA also sell nozzles for water injection http://www.capa.com.au/prices_capa_perform....htm#capa_water which I am fairly certain are aquamist.
  16. im not to sure on the specifics of alcohols so I cant help too much with those ones. ur calculation on flow seems right tho. just remember that if ur system starts injecting at 5psi make sure theres not too much water at that level, you dont want to hydrolock your motor. maybe redo the calculation with your duty cycle at 5psi just a question? where are you sourcing your nozzles from?
  17. normal fuel pump will not be able to handle water, it can corrode and seize, you will also need a solenoid to ensure water flow is cut. 1 water to fuel ratios should be between 10-15% u can go up to around about 25% but tuning problems can arrise. To calculate the specific amount it depends on the size of your injectors and your duty cycle. 2 it depends on application, maybe 70/30 water to alc 3 the added cooling effect of water actually increases the amount or density of air that can occupy the combustion chamber, making it more efficient or some crap like that. 4 before the turbo will damage the compressor wheel.
  18. from what I understand it cost more because apexi did not mass produce them specifically for r32s, ap engineering is like another company or a subdivision, that makes them for r32s in smaller numbers.... the guy at autobahn prob didnt get u a price on an ap.
  19. what sort of power was it making on the 180sx?
  20. sweet, I will definately buy one then.
  21. another quick question, are these dry cell? would I be able to mount the battery on its side?
  22. is it a jap medium or an aussie medium? i have jap shirts taht say large, and would be considered small by aussie standards. o_O
  23. I want one, but im in sydney and I need one fairly quickly, about a week.. so im deciding weather to spend the extra and get one quicker. how many more people do you need?
  24. yeah ring the guys at j-spec, they will explain everything to you.
