Ummm, no.Matarazzi is the only Italian player that will be suspended (due to receiving a red card against the Socceroos). Yellow cards from the group stage aren't carried over to the 2nd round, therefore players will only be suspended if they pick up another card in a subsequent game during the knockout phase. I don't think Ukraine will be able to beat Italy, but they will meet their end against Germany or Argentina in the semi-final.

That's not bad at all - think I might have to and pay them a visit. Thanks for the info Duncan.

What a bloody tragedy! The penalty was one of those 50/50 calls. I agree that more often than not, the ref would probably point to the spot, but it doesn't make it right. The Italian player clearly took a dive, Lucas Neill did make a clumsy challenge, but he didn't initiate the contact with the attacking player, therefore it should have been play on. Bit of a shame to go out like that, but they can hold their heads high - they played well and did everything but score against one of the better teams in the world

Auto-electricians (preferably Parramatta/hills Area)
ECR033 replied to ECR033's topic in New South Wales
Thanks for the recommendations - much appreciated. Richard, Would you know if Grey Imports are open on Saturday's (unfortunately I don't have an easy way of getting back to work if I drop the car to him during the week). I've only heard good stuff about Nathan, just didn't realise he did auto electrical work as well - so I'd be keen to get him to have a look at it if possible. Raz0r$harP, I know exactly what you mean, I've also been screwed around previously which is the main reason why I'm looking for reputable recommendations. If you don't mind, could you please PM me the details of the auto electrician you used? If I can't get to Grey Imports, I should be able to organise to get the car to Penrith as my brother works out that way. Cheers, Brenden -
PHATR32, Going off your wiring diagram, it's fuse 17 (although the layout looks slightly different to my fuse box - not sure if there's a difference between series 1 and 2 R33's?) Neil, Thanks for the advice. Basically, I haven't made any mods recently, other than replacing a clutch and O2 sensor a few weeks before these problems started (all of which probably doesn't have anything to do with my problem?). My stereo and EBC have been in the car for over 18months and I put a Nismo dash in the car a fair while ago...other than those things, I can't really think of anything else that I've changed that may affect the wiring, so i'm a bit lost

Hi All, To cut a long story short, my car has decided to continuously blow the same fuse on multiple occassions of late ( SEE HERE for a more detailed explanation), so I think I need to pay a auto-electrician a visit to try and rectify the problem. Can anyone recommend a good, trustworthy auto-electrician, preferably in the Parramatta or Hills areas? (I've done a quick search, but couldn't really find many recommendations). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hoping someone with some auto-electrical knowledge can help me out Over the last few weeks, my car ('97 R33 GTS25t) has developed some sort of minor electrical gremlin that's been causing it to continuously blow the same fuse over and over again (well, I changed it 3 times then gave up). It's a 10a (amp?) fuse and I've tried the follow the wires from the fuse, looking for something odd, not connected or shorting out etc, but everything seems fine (although I admit I'm an absolute novice when it comes to these things and didn't get very far with it, so in all liklihood I've probably missed the problem). Basically my interior clock and my stereo do not work when the fuse is out and additionally, my climate control unit doesn't switch on automatically on start up (i.e revert to last setting when car was switched off) but I can still turn it on and operate as normal. Everything else seems to be working fine. Unfortunately the wiring diagram is in Japanese, so I've done a search from English diagrams, but basically the only description I could get was "electrics 10a" which wasn't of much help. The fuse in question is in the dash fuse box, left column, 7th fuse from bottom (i.e first fuse in 2nd section). Can anyone suggest anything I can do to rectify the problem? Or, alternatively, can anyone recommend a good auto-electrician in the Parramatta/Hills area (Sydney)? Thanks guys

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to get the front bar resprayed? Mine's not too bad, but has a few too many stone chips for my liking, so I'd consider getting it resprayed if it's not overly expensive (might even get my g/f's front bar done also). Thanks

This LINK works better Looks pretty neat to me, although I have my usual doubts about the kms reading (nothing out of the ordinary). Check out the link that Wink posted, it should give you a good starting point. Best advice I can give is to look at and drive as many Skyline's as possible to get a feel for the car and get an idea on what you get for your money. Don't make the mistake of buying the first one you look at without getting an idea of what else is out there. Good luck and welcome to SAU EDIT: Liz pretty much bet me to everything I just said lol

I did previously, but have since seen the light and now work in the Parramatta area. Brad (Blk180) makes a good point about the trains from Toongabbie etc though. You can't get express trains from those stations and they do usually stop all stations to Lidcombe, then just the 3 main stations to the city from there which probably adds at least 10 minutes to the journey (around 1.10h in total). They probably aren't as frequent as you'd like either, but when are they ever! I did used to try and speed the journey up a little on the way home by catching the Blue Mountains express trains (only 2 stops to Parra) from Central in the arvo and then changing for the 'all stations' slow train at Parramatta which usually more than made up the extra 10 mins lost if I had caught a slow train from the city (little under an hour on a good day). At the end of the day, public transport from anywhere out here (whether it be Granville or a little further down the line) going to the city is going to suck which is an unfortunate downside I guess. I eventually got fed up with it and went for something local with work, but that's just me.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you Adam - i.e similar budget, looking at similar areas. I've only just started really looking during the last few weeks. Don't know if it's any help, but just to give you a few more ideas, I've been looking around Greystanes, South Wenthworthville, Toongabbie, Baulkham Hills etc. I think it's possible to find something quite suitable for close to $350k in those areas and even though they may be a little further out than Granville (10 mins approx), I actually prefer these areas a lot more personally. And close to WSID you see

I'm not a wannabe priest, nor do I proclaim to be a perfect driver. The only point I was trying to make is that excessive speeding is dangerous and should be severely condoned as it can have consequences that are much more serious then loosing your license for 6 or 12 months or whatever it may be. When someone publically posts up their actions on a forum and then others subsequently make comments suggesting that they've been unlucky to loose their license or imply that everyone speeds and that they must have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time, it does nothing (in my opinion) to dissuade the person from doing the same thing again and sometimes even glorifies their actions. Some people (particularly some of the pubescent tools that frequent this and other car forums) don't realise the implications of their actions till it's too late, so I think it's important that the rest of us supposed enthusiasts collectively and repeatedly condone their actions. I'm sorry if you interpret my spiel as some sort of rightous, high and mighty rubbish, but perhaps when you open your eyes and actually think about how you'd feel if you lost someone you know as the result of someone else's reckless actions, then perhaps you might feel a little differently about this issue and might proactively try to do something about it. END RANT.

FFS, go to a track day or drag meet! I'm sick of reading about idiots on this forum whinging because they've lost their license from excessive speeding. It's never bad luck, you fools deserve everything you get. Aside from giving the rest of us enthusiasts a bad name, more importantly your actions jeopardise the safety of yourself and others on the road. Hopefully you'll all have the balls to realise this in future before (god forbid) you have to learn the hard way.

I'm still not convinced that sticking with Cosworth is the best way for Williams to go. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the Williams/Cossie relationship work and become hugely successful for both parties, but I just don't think that Cosworth have the resources (at least financially, but also possibly technically) to keep up with the major manufacturers. I also think Cosworth had a bit of a headstart on the other manufacturers this year given their past experience with V8's in Indy etc which has possibly given a slightly misleading indication of their relative performance. Everyone was talking about their hi-revving, superior performing V8s at the begining of the season, but you don't hear much about that now because I think it's pretty clear that most of the big manufacturers have probably already caught and/or passed Cosworth in terms of performance and definantely reliability. On the other hand, there's plenty to gain (in my opinion) by switching to a customer deal with a manufacturer. From a manufacturer's perspective, they should be able to provide superior engine development as a result of having more data to analyse and evaluate by running multiple teams and they'll also get some economies of scale by partially sharing some of their overhead costs with another team which could possibly free up additional funds for engine development. Surely you'd have to assume that Williams would also be a beneficiary of the manufacturers improved performance and you'd also have to assume that it's probable that Cosworth would not be able to provide the same level of improvement by supplying V8s to Williams on their own . End result (in theory), is that both teams (Williams and manufacturer) should end up with improved engines over what they would have had if they stayed on their own. There's always the risk that Williams would get a 'detuned' engine, but since it's also in the manufacturer's interests to ensure that the relationship works, I don't think they'd want to risk overly ruffling the customer's feathers by giving them an underperforming engine if it meant losing their competitive advantage. Whatever happens, it'll be interesting anyway... Also noticed that Briatore has been quoted saying that Renault are now keen to supply engines to another team, so there's another potential option for Frankie.

No penalty shoot out tonight in the event of a draw - they're only used in the knockout phase (i.e after the group games).

Have you tried contacting a recruitment agency? I think that would be the best bet to help her find a job. Most recruitment agencies advertise roles on the usual job websites (Seek, Career One etc), so you should be able to find their contact details without too much trouble. Good luck

I agree that street tyres will not perform in the same way as slicks or drag radials, but totally disagree that a street tyre will give maximum traction (for a straight line drag) at the normal working pressure. Reducing the tyre pressure to say 20psi will enable more of the tyre surface to come into contact with the track as the tyre compresses on launch resulting in improved traction off the line. Best way to check is to do your first run at your normal tyre pressure and then reduce the pressure on your second run to see if there's any difference. I'd be surprised if your 60' time wasn't at least .1 - .2 quicker.

Nope - although there was a pic from the day (i think?) used in the editorial section. Yes, not sure why though. The quality of the mag has gone a little downhill of late.
