  1. Totally agree with you on that one. Glad to hear you made it back to Australia safely mate
  2. So if what you're saying is right, something the size of a GT30 should fit no problems on this manifold on an RB25? If so, then I may be interested - where are you located cordiapower?
  3. I didn't catch the full coverage (so perhaps this may have already been explained), but what's the go with lapped cars? I could have swore the Pakistan car was 3 laps down towards the end of the race, yet he was swerving all over the track to defend his position from the car behind which was trying to lap him. I'm sure this went on for a good 5 laps... Surely he's supposed to get out of the way???
  4. I think Grey Imports is in Annandale... Do a quick search for workshops in the NSW section and I'm sure his address details will pop up somewhere
  5. Please post up some pics if you can...I may be interested. I also have a SII front bar, so may also consider doing the swap.
  6. Hi SK, Very interested in purchasing the kit... I also thought I'd mention that I think it's great that you've gone to the trouble of using your expertise for the benefit of the group Just wanted to ask... My suspension set up is currently stock and my car is predominantly a street car, although it does see action at WSID every now and then. Would you still recommend that this kit is suitable for my needs, or would you recommend something different that may benefit me at the drags whilst still giving me good handling on the street? Interested to hear your feedback. Brenden.
  7. Can someone please explain (from a suitability point of view), the difference between using an 80mm diametre actuator and a 100mm diametre actuator? The turbo in question is a HKS GT2835 Pro S (A/R 0.87) - internal wastegate. I'm aiming to produce approx 275rwkw (@ 18-20psi) with supporting mods and possibly a set of Tomei Poncams on a RB25DET. Nengun supply the turbo with either the 80mm or 100mm diametre actuator ( SEE HERE ), so I'd like to understand the difference between using either size actuator and also which one would be more suitable for my potential application. Sorry for the dumbarse question - i've done a search and found plenty of info on wastegates etc, but nothing specifically to answer my question.
  8. Can't really comment on UAS as I've never really used them before (other than to buy oil/filters etc), but what I will say is that by using a performance workshop (whether it be UAS or someone else) to do general service work, you're probably going to end up unnecessarily paying a fair bit of additional cash to get the work done. Any good mechanic should be able to easily do the service work you mentioned for a fair bit less. Provided you've got a good local mechanic, I'd get them to do your service work for you and leave any performance orientated work to specialists like UAS as then it becomes more worthwhile to pay a bit extra for their expertise.
  9. Saw plenty today... *White R33 GTR on Windsor Road, Box Hill *Burgundy R33 GTST and White R33 GTST within a few minutes of each other driving around Kellyville Ridge *Another Burgundy R33 GTST following me on Abbot Road, Seven Hills
  10. Nice result Chris, well done
  11. Don't know what you've calculated (haven't bothered to figure it out either), but the payout amount sounds about right to me... Loan: $20,000 less: 29 Repayments (@ $500): -$14,500 plus: 29 Periods of Compound interest: $3,416 Loan Outstanding: ~ $8916 (plus any fees) Go on any bank website and use one of their calculators if you want to work it out yourself, or better still, get the bank to explain it to you.
  12. It's Wests Tigers...
  13. I've noticed that a few people in this thread (and a few others) have either used or refered to the GT30R as a 550hp turbo, yet GCG market their GT3040R as a 600hp turbo. In simple terms, what's the difference between these turbo's?
  14. Car could definately run faster with a decent 60' time. My mph (104mph) isn't much higher than yours, yet I've run a best ET of 12.9...the big difference is 60', mine was ~1.8. If you could get your 60' down to around a 2.0, then I believe that you should easily net a mid to high 13
  15. Usually wash it once a week either at home with the bucket (which is a pain in the arse) or at the car wash near my place. I usually wax the car once every 3-6 months...
  16. Seems like Will Power did a good job from the highlights I saw this morning, although the move that Nelson Piquet Jnr put on him to take the lead in the 2nd race was pretty awesome. Look forward to watching the next one in Germany (I think?).
  17. Hahahahahaha!!! Go the Swannies!!! Sorry...good game in all seriousness, good luck next year
  18. Bloody awesome!!! Go the Swannies!!! BTW, where are all the Perth people???
  19. Why won't you be able to insure it? Is it because you had an 'at-fault' accident or because you want to insure a car that's previously been written off? If it's because of the accident, then you're probably not going to get insurance for any high performance car. I seriously doubt that they wouldn't insure your car because it was a financial write off though. Provided you get the repairs done and it passes it's roadworthy (pink slip), then there is no reason to classify your car any differently to any other car on the road.
  20. Mines ECU's are typically a custom tune for a specific setup on any given car, so you never know what exactly what they've been tuned for or what effect subsequent mods will have on the way the car runs. Or at least, that was the case with my car. My R33 had one when it came over from Japan and it wasn't too bad, but it seemed to be running pretty rich (probably due to the higher octane levels in Japanese fuel). I ended up selling it and bought a PFC instead.
  21. You need to calm down mate - speak to Just Cars, tell them you want to buy the wreck and then repair it yourself (if it's repairable, then it'll only be a financial write off and you'll be able to get your car re-registered). You probably won't end up loosing too much money that way either - you might even end up recouping some of your excess. I know insurance companies always try to screw the little guy, but you have to remember that they wouldn't write your car off and pay out your policy if it was cheaper to repair your car. It wouldn't make sense... Good luck with it mate - hope you get it all sorted.
  22. Tough one... In theory, I would have thought that you would have had to give way to cars moving through the car park before reversing out of your car space. On the other hand (and I'm not sure if I've understood this correctly), it seems like you're saying that the car that hit you was travelling in the wrong direction...is that right? If so, then I think you definately have a case to argue that you're not at fault. What did the other driver say...did they admit fault? Either way, I don't think you can avoid paying up the excess, at least initially. If they can't determine fault, I'm pretty sure that you'll still have to pay the excess unfortunately, as each insurance company will pay to repair their own customers damage without recovering the money from the other party. Hope it works out for you mate
  23. Don't think you can tune the Std ECU on an R33 mate...hence my earlier question. Maybe check with the workshop and find out exactly what they did if you're curious. If the Std ECU was tunable, it kinda negates the need for the PFC then doesn't it? PFC will make a noticable difference in any case. Good luck at Willowbank
  24. Doubt you'll be wondering who Barry is when he's lifting the Premiership trophy for the Swans around this time tomorrow arvo!!! Cheer, Cheer the Red and the White - Go Swans!
