  1. Nope, still not working for me
  2. I might go, although I wasn't too impressed with the last one. It didn't seem very well organised and there were long periods where nothing was happening which was annoying. Admittedly, I did go on the friday last time (Good Friday) and I've heard that the event did get better during the rest of the weekend, so hopefully this one follows the same trend. Just wish there were a few more imports to look at... I don't mind good ol V8's, but I got the impression that the organisers seemed hell bent on making this a V8 only bogan fest at the last one...if anyone's seen the DVD, I think that supports my theory quite well. There's barely anything on it other than V8's.
  3. Thanks Adam - sounds good. All going well, I'll definately be there.
  4. Interested. I've never been to a track day before, so would be keen to give it a go. Just need to sort a few things out first before deciding to commit to the day. Just curious, will there be any instructors available on the day? I wouldn't mind getting some pointers on braking points, driving lines etc as I know I could probably do with some guidance being first time out and all...
  5. Not sure if this has happened to everyone, or just me, but I noticed that the NSW Members forum has dissapeared with the migration over to the new board. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Will we be getting the forum back?
  6. I think I'll have to do the same thing next time. I've never really attempted 'burnouts' in the Skyline before and was only getting the hang of it by the end of the day So, are there anymore pics/vids from the day? Seemed like there were a heap of people taking pics at the track, but I haven't seen that many posted up as yet
  7. You'll need to get your PFC retuned once the new injectors are installed.
  8. Nengun link The Nengun site lists the Yellow 555cc (and Red 740cc) injectors as being suitable for RB25's. I hope that's correct as I've already ordered a set of 555cc injectors and am just waiting for them to be delivered.
  9. That's a bloody awesome time - congrats to all involved with the car. I actually had one run against you and I felt like I was standing still when you passed me half way down the quarter. I have to say that I now have an even greater appreciation of the raw speed of a legitimate 10sec car. That thing is a machine
  10. I had an awesome day today. Got 20 runs in and was consistantly running between 13.1 - 13.3 by the end of the day. I ended up doing a PB of 13.160 @ 103.62mph using the std turbo (12psi) which I was pretty stoked about. It was a big improvement on the 13.7 I'd done previously. Big thumbs up to all those responsible for making today happen, there were definately some awesome times ran today. The day ran very smoothly and everyone behaved, so hopefully we'll be able to have another one of these days in the future. It was also nice to meet a few new people today, although I probably missed out on meeting a few more due to the fact I'm just a quiet lad. All good though Look forward to seeing some pics
  11. Nice work mate Noticed that your mph was a little down on your PB run (compared to your earlier runs). Perhaps there's still more a bit more time to pick up yet.
  12. Care to elaborate why?I personally think that's a fairly uninformed generalisation to be honest. It's a well known fact that the Williams is a dog of a car this year and that Webber has had some fairly bad luck as well. The pre-season hype was fueled by the uninformed Australian media. Both Williams and Webber had talked down their chances of being at the front of the grid before the season even started. It's not pessimism, just a realistic view of where they were compared to other teams on the grid. I think both Williams drivers have performed quite well this season given the equipment they've got. I agree that Webber will probably never be a Schumi, Senna or Prost, but then again, neither have a lot of other world champions. It doesn't mean he doesn't have what it takes to perform well and win in F1. He has always consistantly out performed his team mates and I think he will prove the same thing again by the end of the season. Give him a decent car and he will perform...everyone forgets how well he went in the Jag when it was severly underpowered compared to the top teams. His current car is in a same position now relative to the other teams and I think his performances have been very respectable through the season thus far.
  13. Shite! I don't even have half that power!
  14. Thanks Adrian - that's just the info I was after. Guess I better get the tyres on the car for a bit of tyre smoke lovin in the next day or so then I haven't attempted a decent burnout for years...might need to go find a 'private' road to get some practice
  15. Hope the car gets over here ok mate. Welcome to good ol Sidinee
  16. I've done a quick search on this, but couldn't find anything, so I just thought I'd ask With regards using a set of drag radials for the first time, is there anything that I specifically need to do to get optimum performance out of the tyres? I've never used drag radials before, but I recently purchased a set of new BFG Comp T/A's and plan on using them at the SAU drag day this Sunday. I was told that it was a good idea to do a decent burnout on them a day or two before using them at the track for the first time. Is there any benefit in doing this? Or does it make no difference provided I do a decent burnout on my first run at the track? Is there anything else I should also be doing? What's the best pressure to run the tyres at? 25psi? Any advice would be appreciated
  17. I usually use just over 4L when I change my oil (including oil filter).
  18. GTFO --------------------->
  19. Beer Baron is correct. I've also just bought one recently and was told by my mechanic that my PFC will need to be retuned once it is fitted. I'm sorta in the same position as gtrGhosTDoGG11, I've also got injectors and new fuel pump on the way, so I'm just going to get them all fitted at the same time as the AFM and then do the tune.
  20. If it makes you feel any better, Jason usually replies fairly quickly to my emails. That said, I did email him on Friday about injectors and haven't heard back from him yet. Maybe there's been a public holiday in Japan or something along those lines? Good luck getting it sorted mate.
  21. Just wanted to give Shannon's a plug... My car insurance renewal came in the mail from Just Car the other day. $1693 for modified 97 R33 GTST, 24yr old male driver, good driving history, maximum NCB, insured for $23k. I was pretty happy with the quote given that I was paying over $2k last year, but being the inquisitive person I am, I decided I'd give Shannon's a call just for the heck of it. I was pretty confident that they wouldn't better the Just Car quote, let alone offer me insurance at all going on some of the replies I've read in this thread, but they've come good! They quoted me $1570, insuring the car for $24k (instead of $23k from JC) with a $1100 excess (which reduces to $500 next month once I'm 25) compared to the $1600 base excess from JC. They also offer a pay by the month option which JC doesn't. Hope this helps some people. Just thought I'd post this up to let people know that there's another decent option to JC and Famous for insuring an import
  22. This is what I was advised when I purchased a few items from Greenline earlier this year: I haven't had any problems with Customs as yet, but you should always budget for duty/GST etc...just in case. In a worse case scenario, it's still cheaper than buying the same item locally on most occassions.
  23. That wouldn't happen to be the same Nur spec GTR in the latest issue of Speed would it? Very nice car if it is Lucky bastard...
  24. Saw a few lines on the way to work this morning: *Spotted "SXYSKY" Silver R33 GTST on Fitzwilliam Road, Toongabbie *Spotted Gunmetal Grey R32 GTR turning right off Victoria Rd, Rydalmere (APU? - not sure on the plates) - seen it a few times in the last couple of weeks. *Spotted a blue R32 GTS4 turning off Windsor Rd onto James Ruse Drive (didn't get the plates)
