  1. Very nice, they suit the car well...
  2. Ph: 9634 5399
  3. I went to Northshore Prestige and found them pretty helpful when I was looking for a car last year. I didn't actually buy my car from them as I found a good example privately (much cheaper as well), but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them as a dealer. I think the name of guy I dealt with was Cristophe - good guy to deal with.
  4. It's white shoe polish - wipes off with a chamois
  5. Why reduce yourself to their level? Where do you think threatening a police officer is going to get you? No offence intended, but seriously have a think about it mate...And you wonder why police target "ethnic" people driving modified cars... I too am partially of "ethnic" decendency (not Lebanese though) and can understand the frustration that some people go through due to power tripping police officers. I know it may seem unfair, but I can also understand why police sometimes act the way they do. If I had to regularly deal with idiots who blatantly had no respect for the law or the police like those fools on ACA last night, then I'd probably be heavy handed and want to make life difficult for them as well...it's not right, but it's a clear example of cause and effect. Personally, I've never really had a problem with police - I've been pulled over by police on several occassions, I've cooperated with their requests and hence had no problems. I'm sure if I'd acted like a big hero, then they would have gone over my car with a fine tooth comb and I would've ended up with some sort of defect notice for something ridiculous... To give you another example, a mate of my brother has been pulled over several times and has acted like an absolute tool on every occassion and wonders why he's copped a shitload of defects. At the end of the day I think it's pretty simple - act like an idiot and you'll be treated like one. If you respect that police are out there trying a job and respect the law, then 9 times out of 10, you probably won't have a problem. My two cents worth...
  6. Getting a quick launch has more to do with having decent tyres then anything else me thinks...traction is most important. But, since you're asking, I personally find that launching around 3000 rpm and then gradually 'feathering' the clutch out usually works best for me. Mind you, I only have a set of fairly crappy tyres on the car at the moment...
  7. Spotted a Silver R33 with Qld plates on James Ruse Drive, Northmead around 8.30am this morning - gave the nod, but got nothing back (think my tints must be a little dark lol). Also spotted a nice looking Red R34 GT-T fly past me as I merged onto Victoria Rd at Rydalmere around 8.40am - didn't get the plates though.
  8. Yeah I read the review on the Hankook's but i'm not overly convinced that I'll be happy with them. I think they seem very good for the price, although i'm guessing that they're still probably at the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to performance tyres. Anyone had any experience with the DZ101's or ST115's? Any help on this would be great.
  9. Sorry to dig up an oldish thread...but has anyone had any experience with Dunlop Direzza DZ101's? I'm pretty much sick to death of the rubbish handling on my current Falken Z386's (they came with the car), so I've decided to put something decent on this time around. They're fairly expensive unfortunately - I got quoted the following prices (which is the limit of my tyre budget!): Front (255/45/17) - $314/tyre Rear (255/40/17) - $400/tyre They seem to have received good reviews, but I'm interested if anyone else has actually had any experience with them? I considered Bridgestone S03's but they're more expensive then the DZ101's so i've ruled them out. I've also got prices for Falken Azenis ST115's which are a lot cheaper than the DZ101's, but are they a comparable tyre? If so, then these may also be a possible (considerably cheaper) alternative. Does anyone have any experience with these tyres? Finally, is there anything else I should also be considering in my price range? Thanks for the help
  10. Well it must be ok then... It was just my personal opinion mate. If you're happy with them, then take no notice of me
  11. Get rid of the stickers on the side skirts - they look tacky. Rest of the car looks good - congrats.
  12. Have you read THIS THREAD? Might solve your problem...
  13. As per the forum rules, please post a price.
  14. I also spotted RELODE on Sat night driving down George St at around 12.30am...I thought the car looked familiar (goes diggin through old SPEED mags)
  15. Sigh, another one...what is this city coming too? Good luck finding it mate - hope you get it back in one piece... I actually went and bought a steering lock today as an additional deterent to my alarm/immobiliser...seems like we need all the security we can get these days
  16. Actually, I just noticed in your signature that you ran 11psi, whilst I was running 12psi. That's more likely a reasonable explanation (with a small degree of dyno variation) for the difference in power figures. As for the non-shootout mode, I'm not sure. The 3 times I've had my car on a dyno, it's always been in shootout_6 mode.
  17. In that case, I may also contemplate coming along... I've only managed a 13.7, but with some decent tyres (which I'd buy if I decide to race), I should be able to shave a few tenths off that I'd hope.
  18. Does your clutch slip? If not, then I wouldn't worry about it. A slight shudder isn't really unusual for a HD clutch. If it's overly annoying, then consider replacing your clutch.
  19. Hi Paul, Yeah, it was in shootout mode. I've got the dyno sheet at home, so I'll try to scan it for you some time today or tomorrow. I still think it's got more to do with the dyno's than anything else - although 20kw is a fair difference like you say. Cheers, Brenden
  20. To give you a rough idea, I've got PFC, FMIC, EBC, 3" turbo back exhaust with hi-flow cat and K&N panel filter on my R33 and I achieved 194 rwkw on 12psi. With the mods you've listed above, I have no reason to doubt that ~200rwkw is achievable. EDIT: Paul's post above highlights the difference in dyno readings from different workshops and why they should be used as only an indication of power. Given that we've got similar mods on similar cars, a 20rwkw difference is a little irregular when I suspect that our cars are probably pretty much in line with performance. Depending on dyno used, i expect that anything between 180-200rwkw should be on the mark for the mods you've listed. For the record, my dyno reading was on a dyno dynamics dynometer in shoot out mode.
  21. I am interested in just the turbo (as I have no need for the other parts mentioned). If you're willing to split, please PM me a price for the turbo only. If possible, can you also please post up some pics of the turbo. Thanks
  22. Sorry to hijack the thread, but is it worth running at Drag Combat if you're in the mid to low 13's? I'm kinda in the same boat as Abo Bob on this as I'm keen to have a go at DC, but don't want to be embarrassed if the majority of cars I'd be competing against are of sub 12sec potential...
  23. Just to give you a comparison, I ran a 13.7 (2.4 60") in my R33 which would be a similar weight (perhaps a little heavier). When I ran the car, it was making 185rwkw. Similar power, similar weight - i'll let you draw your own conclusions on an approx ET you would run
  24. Have you looked at any other Skylines yet? Don't make the mistake of just buying the first car you see... If you're patient and look around a bit more, you'll notice that the price is a little high for an early Series 1 R33. For $19k, you'd want it to either have some decent mods, less km's or be a fair bit newer. Have a look on carsales.com.au to get a better idea for what they're selling for - private sales are usually a fair bit cheaper than dealers. Good luck
  25. Do a search in the NSW section. There's a heap of threads on this in there...
