  1. I'm pretty sure I saw you in the scruitineering area (I remember the seat covers lol) - maroon GTST right? I would have liked to have said hi, but I would have lost my spot in the queue.Don't know what's going on with your times though. I'd question your gear changes, but it seems like you've run your car a heap of times so I doubt that's the problem. Just doesn't make sense that you'd beat me off the start, then start falling back mid-run, then have a higher TS then me...some freaky stuff going on there. At least you're close to a 13...my 4th and last run of the night was a 14.002 which would have been agonisingly close to a 13 if I didn't get there the run prior to that one.
  2. I was pretty happy with my run last night and I broke into the 13's which I was pretty happy about as well considering I was still having a problem getting much traction (damm Falken z386's!). In detail, R/T: 0.227 60': 2.247 330': 6.006 660': 9.067 1000 mph: 81.05 1000': 11.703 ET: 13.931 MPH: 101.37 It's interesting to compare times benm - your 60 foot time is heaps better than mine, your MPH is higher than mine, yet my ET was slightly better than yours...weird! I'm not sure what mods you've done to yours, but basically I've got FMIC, cat back exhaust, mines ecu (which i'm turfing for a PFC on Friday), K&N panel filter and 9psi. I saw quite a few Skylines last night, although I didn't know who was actually from SAU. In hindsight, I should have just said hi, but I guess I'm slightly shy lol BTW, that 400R looked like a beast of a machine and I had both PAC Rotaries behind me in staging and they're both awesome looking cars (although I shit my pants for a second when it looked like I was going to line up against "THUMPER"...but he went after me which was good). Good night overall...I'll definately be back in a few weeks time to see how it runs with the PFC and tune.
  3. Thanks mate, will do.Not to sure if the weathers going to be any good though...heard it was supposed to rain this arvo
  4. I'm going to take my car for a run tomorrow night as well. I've been once before just after I bought the car last July and ran 14.5 when the car was basically stock. So this time with new FMIC, a little more boost (9psi) and more experience driving the car, I'm hoping to get close to a flat 14 or better if possible. In any case, i'm getting my PFC installed and tuned next Friday, so I want to set a time tomorrow so I've got a benchmark to compare to once I run it again after the tune. I haven't met anyone off here before, so hopefully I'll get to catch up with a few of you tomorrow (I'll be the lost looking bloke in the Silver R33 )
  5. Pics are good! Welcome aboard mate!
  6. Spewing I missed this! Had some problems at work and ended working back. Next time I guess...

    Helmets?

Ended up getting a full face helmet from Motorcycle Accessories Warehouse in Parramatta for $120 - pretty happy with that. Cheers, Brenden
  8. I don't know anyone, but me + GF will come along.
  9. Nice time, especially considering your 60' isn't that flash - what mods have you done to your car? I'm hoping to get out there next week - just hoping to break into the 13's this time round.
  10. LOL, thanks for the advice - i'll keep it in mind

    Helmets?

Thanks for the tips - both places are fairly local for me, so i'll definately check them out. Cheers, Brenden.
  12. Hey Guys, Can anyone suggest any good places in Sydney where I could buy a helmet relatively cheaply? I was hoping for less than $200 (the cheaper, the better at the moment), although I don't know if it's possible to get them that cheap. I want to take my car for another run at WSID in the next few weeks (and track days in future), but I don't have access to a helmet anymore...so it's about time i bought my own anyway. Any help would be great - thanks.
  13. Thanks for the tip - will do

  15. Hey guys, Haven't been on one of these before, but I'm keen to come along provided that the Misses doesn't object...too much  Hope to be there on Friday. Cheers, Brenden.
  16. Spotted a nice white 34 coupe (VY-19??) on James Ruse Drive yesterday arvo...nice wheels Anyone on here? I gave a quick nod when I passed you in the traffic, but I doubt you would have seen it as our tints are both pretty dark (I know I couldn't see you). Also spotted a grey 34 4-door with Raine & Horne Chinatown stickers all over the rear end - seen you a few times lately on Victoria Road, Rydalmere and City West Link, Haberfield.
  17. True, insurance premiums are ridiculously high, but it's even more ridiculous to suggest only getting 3rd party, fire and theft for a approx $30k car. Don't know about you, but I'm sure most people can't afford to loose a $30k asset should they have the misfortune of writing their car off...
  18. Hi All, Can anyone recommend a good mobile dent repairer that they've had experience with...preferably one that will travel to the Hills/Parramatta area? I've got a couple very small dings on the car where the paint hasn't been broken and I'd like to see if it's possible to get them repaired. Any help would be great - thanks
  19. I've heard many things about Nengun, mostly good, although my personal experience with them was a little dissapointing. I sent them a couple emails (over a week apart from each other) wanting to get a quote for a Power FC in December but never heard back from them unfortunately. I ended up going through Greenline instead and found Jason very helpful. He answered all my questions within a day or so, gave me a good price and organised to send my order after I arrived home from my holiday (rather than it arriving while I was away) without any problems. I received my Power FC earlier this week and would have no hesitation in recommeding him to anyone else or personally using his services again. With regards to customs/GST etc, as was said earlier, you should definately factor in these costs where they are applicable before deciding to go ahead with your purchase. More often then not, you probably won't have to pay them, even though you usually are obliged to do so.
  20. On a recent trip from Sydney to Melbourne, I noticed a strange vibration sound coming from the engine bay in my car (R33 GTST). I only heard the sound when I was cruising at low RPM, slightly using the throttle in 5th gear and it dissapeared if I gave the throttle a squirt or if I down shifted into 4th gear. I do drive on freeways every now and then, but have only heard the same vibration sound two times before, whereas it's been fine otherwise. Being mechanically naive, I'm not sure what the problem could be...can anyone help me out??? Thanks in advance
  21. Just to put things in perspective, I bought my 97 GTST just over 6 months ago for $20k. It's in mint condition, was basically stock when I bought it (other than exhaust, air filter, Mines ECU and 17" wheels) and had been owned by a mature age owner. Had service records and receipts for timing belt change etc as well. He initially advertised the car for $23k, but I bargained him down to $20k. I looked at a lot of Series II GTST's over a few months and this one was by far the neatest example I had seen. I was prepared to pay up $23k, but by searching for a while and bargaining a little, I think I got myself a fantastic buy. My advise - be patient, look at as many cars as you can and be prepared to bargain a little. You should be able to score yourself something very tidy for around $20k... $25k is way overpriced for a stocker.
  22. Saw GTR-10S Silver R33 GTR yesterday arvo...I was in the silver R33 GTST Series II, gave you the thumbs up when I passed you as I went through the roundabout on Metella Road. Seen your car around a few times in the last few weeks...nice ride
  23. I test drove a few R33's down there when I was looking for my car. I didn't end up buying from there, but the cars and the guy I dealt with (think his name was Christophe) seemed genuine. Only reason I didn't buy from then was because I found a very neat example advertised privately for less $$$, otherwise I would have bought from there...much better than some of the shonks you hear about on Parra Rd etc.
  24. This is unfortunately becoming an all too common occurance, especially given the tragic accident with EVLR34 earlier this week. Without knowing the circumstances of the accident, I still hope that all drivers (young hoons in particular) learn something about the events of the last few days and realise that they're not untouchable in the confines of their cars and adjust their attitude to driving accordingly. Given the antics of a few P platers that I saw on the way to work this morning, I won't hold my breath for this to happen though... Glad to hear that the occupants weren't seriously injured in this accident...at least as far as I'm aware in any case.
  25. How expensive are you talking for the filter?
