lads and ladies, unfortunately that time has come. after actively announcing the sale of my car a few months ago, my price has dropped and dropped and today, i took a deposit on my car. it will be gone by next week. needless to say, of course, you can all come and pay your respects and love and affection and cuddle it for the last time under my ownership on friday night. youse all better bloody come out!!!!! the car is, thankfully, staying in canberra with a new owner (who tells me he's pretty keen to get involved with you grubby fellow 'liners and sau when he takes delivery etc). he's a nice guy called tim. no doubt you'll be seeing him round the traps etc. i'm sure its only a matter of time before he introduces himself to everyone. so now i'm left in this horrible position of trying to figure out what to do for transport. it needs to be cheap(er) than the line and somewhat cool/unique/fast etc. that rules out anything vaguely australian or american, but please fire your suggestions away! i'm already missing my car and i've got 1 week(ish) left to bond with it and say my goodbyes. *sniff* d

i can absolutely confirm, mj, that caltex's high octane fuels are not refined by shell. my uncle works for caltex and i've seen huuuuuughe fuel tanks with their premium juice with my own two eyes. they had a big A2 poster/flowchart up showing people how they refine their high octane brews and why they're supposedly better. my car pings its tits off on shell's fuel - never had any problems on vortex or bp. d

aaaah i hate christmas but thats because i'm in retail. but on the flipside my shop is closed for 2 whole days, which is a rare occurance and a much welcome one too. i spent my day basking under the sun in my boxers with beer(s) either in hand or a comfy, low-effort stretch away. hope everyone else here has had as relaxing a day as i have. merry christmas y'all d

yeah i'm all for people going for what they think looks good. but i have no time for rediculous flat chrome pizzapans like you see on so many mercs, beemers and pretty much any rice'd up honda/pulsar/gemmi/etc etc etc because, it seems, people only go for those cos they're "sik like queen st!" having said that, the right chrome looks fat! i saw a bbbig 70's black merc the other day with chrome wire wheels (20's or 21's) and it looked awesome and also very individual. spinners are somehow mesmerisingly awesome too... but its the combo of car that matters.... if you've got a black car, black rims imo look crap. same for white on white etc... its all about matching your rims to your car imo. and yes slithers rims are cool but while being showy, they're not flat out bling. they look almost purposeful and one of the nicer chrome styles i've ever seen... oh and spotted red 34 gtt fyshwick yesterday. white 33 gtr today gold bbs lm's civic mid afternoon and gunmetal gtr w/ the mesh sparco rims "YCO xxx or something" parcark across from the convention centre today too. d

i reckon beemers look awful with bling. its so unfortunate that german cars get hit with the bling stick when they can look great when a bit of race-style/jdm influence gets into their guards. if i had to have bling, it'd be some nice diamond cut 2/3 piece rims. DEFINATELY no chrome. d
