  1. I think series 8 compliance is between $10 - $12 K
  2. i'm interested
  3. what are the short shifts like to use?
  4. nice work. can i ask where what type of cooler you have and where you had the pipe work done? Cheers
  5. Adam, i've got an r32 gts-t arriving in a month also. i'm keen to get an answer on workshops also.. By the way, how are you going about doing the compliance thing? (ie:side intrusion bars, fuels filler neck etc)
  6. r32 gts-t imported under 15 y.o. rule (arriving in a couple of months) stock (apart from exhaust), manual, 65,000km, grade 4 - no accident damage. 315,000 yen (bout $9K aus all up in Australia) Took a lot of patience to find the right one.
  7. you're approaching a red light and slowing down, the light turns green and you want to accelerate quickly but you'd be too bogged down for 2nd gear, you want 1st but try as you might the gearlever won't go... a double de-clutch will put the lever into 1st like butter and you'll be outa there. in general - synchromesh is great but once you can do better (read smoother) job you'll never look back. in addition you'll place less stress on your gearbox.
  8. Excellent posting! So i gather the isaso intrusion bar - one end is simply bolted in place and the other is welded? Also, what sort of engineer do you need to consult? A mechanical engineer... or do they require a special qualification? Cheers
  9. I am keen for a bar & plate intercooler also... perhaps this is a silly question but is it worth paying extra when $447 will buy a new bar & plate intercooler of this size from www.modyourcar.com.au ? Or is the Hybrid a choice intercooler?
  10. Refer to attachment This is not a picture of my engine, not that it really matters... is the highlighted bit a factory bov? My engine has this piece of plumbing with a blitz bov installed, however to get the car complied through the authorities i have to remove the bov, so i purchased a replacement piece of plumbing from a wrecker but the highlighted bit isn't on the piece i have from the wrecker.... what gives any help appreciated cheers
  11. be careful of oil filters not designed for your engine. some filters have one way oil flow valves that are engine/manufacturer specific. this can effectively starve your engine of oil (i have heard of this happening before). probably not likely but i'd always go for something that is advertised as compatible.
  12. I have a 15 y.o. r32 gts-t arriving in september - i have a few questions: 1) can anybody recommend compliancing workshop(s) in S.A.? 2) has anybody done their own compliance work in SA? (apart from intrusion bars) 3) my car has an air pod and a bov - when the compliance work is done and i go through regency will i get knocked back? Cheers, thanks for your time
  13. Fantastic info, cheers for that. One issue i always am concerned about is cleaning the engine bay. After spraying a degreaser in the engine bay, is it OK just to squirt a high pressure hose around in there? (am i going to stuff up any electrics?)
