6 cyl ones read differently ryan...............that was the problem thidras had with froggys old CA18 pintara when it wasnt broken all it means when its not out of the gxe is ya dont get all the gauges you would normally have had (probably dont hav a tacho now) definitely sounds like the gearbox sender might be playing up head to u-pull it and find an auto pinny and take the sender out....cost ya like 5 - 10 bucks (or just stuff it in ya pocket and walk out LOL)

i'll definitely be saving that cash, all going well will be towards may practice. it was very much appreciated none the less guys and girls

did you make sure it was a pintara cluster as opposed to a skyline one (dumb question i know but a cause to the problem) all the other gauges working? are you sure the sender on the gearbox is working?

that'll be easy check the gauge cluster out (give it a bit of a belt........hit the top of the dash if need be, probably have to at some point with the fuel gauge anyway), and if its not that check the sender on the trans. Either option is cheap to fix
