  1. how do you guys cross reference parts to other model nissans ? Going to the dealers is one way but most times not interested buying new bits. for instance i need two door hinges for a R32 GTS. They look pretty generic so im hoping I can get them off a generic wreckers knowing what model im chasing. Looking for something like a parts compatibility list.
  2. so the nolathane kit is correct as a straight replacement whereas the Superpro kit gives you an extra two shells to replace them all. ( with the added pain) The hacksaw blade hack sounds neat and I may have to use the threaded bolt trick to press them in. I have no press and my experience with workshops is that they want you to leave it with them the whole day.
  3. sorry for bumping this thread but im interested in changing my front bushes on my R32 aswell. Im going for the std , non adjustable type. Its a daily driver so dont have the need the camber adjustments. one q tho. For those that have done this recently. The nolathan kit appears to contain 8 bushes, 4 crush tubes but only 4 cups. Kit 45142 Whereas the SuperPro contains all the above but with 8 cups. Kit SPF0723K For the nolathane kit are you meant to reuse two of the cups, if so , which ones? inner or outer?

  7. I need to remove the transmission and replace the flex plate cause the starter ring gear is mashed in some areas and the starter grinds. What info can you guys offer removing the transmission for the home diy. Any special tools required other than the dude swinging the wrenches? where can i get a manual for this procedure?

  9. I hear ya. I own an Alfa Romeo and an old school Ducati. I know the story line all too well with the exotic.
  10. I guess i was trying to say I need a drop in fit. Putting something non stock for the engine gets me concerned a little with having to mess with other stuff. This is my friends car and she is on a limited budget. Trying to do it as good and inexpensive as possible.
  11. I'll be doing the labor myself unfortunately. Otherwise yeah i would consider a swapout. as long as i dont have to pissfart around with the valve clearances and electronics, timings etc...

  14. Looking into the exhaust camshaft. You can see the broken bit. first pic is the birds eye view into the CAS. You can see the broken half moon bit inside.The broken spline shaft piece which came out of the CAS ..The biopsy. A lot of red dust from the seized bottom, bearing after finally turning it using the vise.
  15. hi - Pulled off my CAS to diagnose a no start problem and discovered a half broken splined shaft in it. I tried spinning the CAS shaft by hand but it seems siezed hence why it broke the spline. I had a look with the torch inside the exhaust cam where the CAS goes and noticed the other side of the broken spline shaft. I tried picking the broken piece with a pick tool but it wont budge.Not sure if it can. Could someone pls explain if that splined shaft is part of the Camshaft? Cause it doesnt appear part of the CAS. how do i replace it ? I hate to cough up on a new cam. cheers
