  1. A turbo works on a flow energy afaik. Heat alone with not spin a turbine.... my understanding is very simple, but the spinning motion caused by the exhaust gases spins the common shaft that has a compressor at the other end. Cheers Sumo
  2. petemillis: sounds like a great setup you have. pity you don't see people here doing that. Cheers Sumo
  3. I would pull the starter out and get someone to repair it... Least it wont let you down later. Cheers Sumo
  4. ahhhh..... so a high mount is not just for show? its for practicality..

  6. How are you supposed to show off to all your friends with a low mounted turbo?? Sumo
  7. Bridgestone S03's They are an awesome tyre in the wet, but they don't come in cheap I paid 255/40/17 $450ea. Fitted. It made me cry, as when he said $450 I thought that was for the two rear tires....
  8. RHETT - I had to pay $450 for mine, and fitted it myself. Cheers Sumo
  9. let us know how it goes... Cheers Sumo
  10. lock 'em up..... They would be the first ones on ACA about the cops hasseling them about throwing stuff out the window - and how hard done by they are. Cheers Sumo
  11. So people who usually rebuild engines are of the fitter/machinist trades? I would think that this would over the top for the old mechanic down the road. Cheers Sumo
  12. Hahaha Those people from down south love to piss on each other....
  13. Do you get the OMD for the right price?? Cheers Sumo
  14. get a carton, some mates with the gear and some stud removing bits for your drill. Depends on how hard that stud is to get too - on how long and how much gear you have to remove. Cheers Sumo
  15. seen it, where the illum wire is mistaken for an earth, soon as you turn on your parkers your radio goes out Cheers Sumo
  16. I would say that it would be a 55w H1 H2's are usually only employed in IPF spotlights.... there are not too many applications for them Cheers Sumo
  17. PRO_32: I also think supporting mods are a far bigger issue then the turbo itself. I had a lean out one day and melted four of the six spark plug electrodes off. Im so glad that I didnt end up with a big hole in the pistons. Fueling is way more important then a exhaust wheel falling off. Chhers Sumo
  18. Wastegate is stuck open? Its hard to say.
  19. I have no idea.
  20. Your kidding right? What do you want to sell? Anyone can sell gear - but you have to be able to offer something the others are not. Like workshops, even if they sell no-name gear, you find people are happy to pay for the workmanship. Cheers Sumo
  21. Welcome to the forums, there is alot to be learnt here. Cheers Sumo
  22. ouch, that sounds a bit pricey. But I would dare say the labour component in sydney would be far dearer then out here. Damage?? what kind of damage is he looking for? only time damage occurs is if the stator burns out or a bearing collapses. Cheers Sumo
  23. Not sure on the auto's, but I remember reading somewhere that on the GTST manuals they have a 4.11:1
  24. The Battery light is an indicator for the altenator only, it does not come on if the battery is stuffed. The light excites the alt, and if it is not regulating the reg must have given up the ghost.. If you remove it it will be cheaper for you, just tell the auto elec that she is charging at 16volts and let him go from there. Nothing is worse then someone bringing in a alt/starter and saying "this dont work" without acctually seeing what its doing. Saying that the reg is stuffed might also be incorrect as most alts have a voltage sensing wire, and it has blown a fuse or has a break in the wire, the alt will detect no battery voltage and therefore charge flat out. Cheers Sumo
  25. Did someone do a dodgy on a deal?
