  1. either did I but they are a mungrel to work around. Cheers Sumo
  2. Spray painting wouldn't be a bad trade to get into at all. But like with any job, if someone can do it cheaper they usually rush and alot of "ahh she'll be right" goes on. If someone comes in and says 1/2hr is all that job should take (i am 2nd yr apprentice auto elec), all the things get done to make that job work, but the planning and finishing touches just go out the window - You do your best, but 9 times out of 10 you can come up with a better way of wiring something up if you have a think about it - then if you were to use a generic base wiring idea you have set in your head. People find that the cheapest price usually bites them hard. Cheers Sumo
  3. Changing the sparkies on a GTST sucks bad..... Damn intake manifold. Cheers Sumo
  4. Are they a direct replacement or do you have to modify you existing loom? (change plugs etc.) Cheers Sumo
  5. No, the loom at the barrel is not directly hooked to the ECU, It will have one wire from the battery, one going to accessories, one going to ignition and one going to start. The wires going to accessories and igntion you will find most likely go to the fuse panels. Cheers Sumo
  6. Put an oscilliscope on the O2 sensor and measure the signal coming out of it. I doubt very much that it would be an O2 sensor though. As it really only cleans up the fuel efficiency, so it shouldn't drop your production of power all that much. I would be checking the air/fuel/spark. Possibly your airflow meter is playing up, that will do the same thing. Cheers Matt
  7. Whats your trade? Cheers Sumo
  8. Yep, that blue stuff you will find is Battery Terminal Protector.
  9. I dont blame the mechanic, because in the odd case if something does go wrong, he cops the kick in the arse Cheers Sumo
  10. Woah, I like the tattoo pics.... That machine has really got the goods , I like the car too .... Cheers Sumo
  11. when you pull the gearbox out to do the clutch, see if it will come loose then. Have you tried taking all the weight off the g/box to see if it will come free? Any sort of incline will put weight on the box, and want to stop it from releasing. Cheers Sumo
  12. well If we didnt have these thugs out in the public eye being a fu(king nuisance maybe you could have the cops round at your house sorting things out. What do you respond to? 50 calls saying that we have a bunch of wankers in cars doing stupid shit - or 1 call saying that some bloke may of had a death threat. Bayroot by the bay? I say bomb the shit out of it.
  13. After watching that absolute shit, They want to act like d ickheads, they can be treated like them. Gone are the days of when people had responabilities, now they only care about their fu(king rights. Sumo P.S. I don't evny anyone living in a place like sydney
  14. Cubes depends on the battery. The batteries with the yellow tops in a falcons have Calcium in them and need higher voltages. I wouldn't say 13.5V is the optimum voltage for a charging system.
  15. This is where you need a weapon that is preferably belt feed. :uzi: How about we stop teaching people their rights in school, and insted teach them proper morals, and if it comes to it - how to act in society. Otherwise - we might just have to up the budget of the SWAT teams :sadam: Cheers Sumo
  16. Sounds like something is missing. I know with the bosch altenators if the light is not hooked up sometimes you could get the alt to start charging with lots of revs, but what a light does is help it pull in at idle revs. My R33 charges at 14.4 Volts at idle. Did the alt you replaced with your old one have the same pin config? Sometimes they can be arse about face. Cheers Sumo
  17. get a socket on the end of it? The cam gears on the lancer were as brittle as, so I wouldn't go too ape
  18. I tried to move a cam on a 1.8 litre lancer motor - I couldnt budge it. Cheers Sumo
  19. I run a 1.1mm gap and have no problems whatso ever. Cheers Sumo
  20. sorry, I shouldn't just fly in and out and not spend time reading Cheers Sumo
  21. The coppers I ran acctually burnt the electrode off 4 of the 6 plugs. Nice hard run - 11 psi everything else stock So now i use Iridiums, and pulled them out at 10 000kms last week and they look like new. Cheers Sumo
  22. Dayne, I have seen this problem quite a bit..... Pull out all the globes and check for a broken filament. Sometimes you get what is called a crossfeed - this is when a broken brake filament sends power back up the parker circuit. Cheers Sumo
  23. Cheers mate, I was told they used to use brasso with a bit a water. Sumo
