  1. I got one..... But I just joined the wires anyways
  2. Lozza: I was in armidale yesterday I hate it - cold in winter, cold in summer
  3. ahhh ok Fair enough
  4. Im using Mobil Fully Synth SHC 75w-90 for the gear box and shell fully synth for the diff. Sumo
  5. Ant: You can tell when you melt them.... unburnt fuel, and it misses at idle like a bitch. Sumo
  6. Jetdat: Its pretty hard to tell for fuel with skylines because they run that rich it contaminates the oil pretty quickly
  7. Yeah, upgrade your dump/front pipe and cat. BATMBL is selling them cheap and brand new on the forums. 17 PSI seems alot of boost for so little power... People talk about putting a set of adjustable cam gears on, maybe you should do a search. Sumo
  8. I reckon that you will need to extend your budget. Try and get a twin plate, I doubt a single would hold that kind of power. No idea what they are worth Sumo
  9. EVO: I would use whatever engine oil worked best for you, which ever kept your car quietest/smoothest. as for g/box oil, what weight does your manual recommend?
  10. I hear so many people raving about redline oil, but I drove a car the other day with redline lightweight in the g/box and it felt the same as mine... All I am running is a Mobil Fully synthetic gear oil. I thinking that the people that are putting it into their boxes are first time changes since the car has landed from Japan, and even mineral based gear oil feels 100% better then the shit in the gear box that the japs have never changed. I would like to hear some other peoples opinions on this subject who have tried both oils. I just think its plain rude for people to be asking for $100-110 for 4 liters of oil. That said I paid $52 for 4 liters of mobil fully synth gear oil - which hurt the pocket alot. Sumo
  11. Just ordered.... Hopefully they are still open?
  12. my car has never been on a dyno, so I have no idea what power its making Sumo
  13. Mine had orange colour clarion spilts
  14. Hi all, I was talking to a Caltex oil rep at ag quip a couple of days ago, and he said one really good way to see if you oil is in need of changing is to feel it, grab some fresh oil (same as what is running in your car - I suppose only the poeple that service their own cars can do this) rub the oil from your fresh container and feel how "slippery" it feels.... now do the same for your engine - clean you fingers and rub the oil off the dipstick through your fingers and see if that oil is just as slippery... My fully synth oil has done 6000kms and it doesn't feel as near as slippery as the fresh stuff..... Oh well, time for a change. Sumo
  15. P.S. With NGK the GTR and the VLT use the same BCPR prefix so I imagine they would be the same for the RB25. the number is the only thing that changes, but that relates to the heat range. Sumo
  16. JimX: yeah, I think your on the right track.
  17. I used the Copper NGK BCPR6E.... which is a colder plug then is recommended. the 5 heat range is recommended. Duncan: no idea, only put them in yesterday.... But the stalk that the plug sparks too was half melted off and gone (hopefully it didn't hurt any valves... Its prolly stuck in my cat convertor. The Iridium plug im running now is what was recommended for the GTR BCPR6EIX-11. They seem a shit load better, its purring like a ***** now. My car is only for street use, but the thing that ****ed 4 plugs was one run from 0 -180km/h, redlining each gear. Maybe it was running to lean? Im not a mechanic so I cant tell you... But I have a sneaking suspicion thats what it was, because thats the only way it would get hot enough to melt a plug?? Sumo
  18. Ouch man, sounds like a dodgy bloke sold it too you.... Im not sure what you can do, but if you ever need to re- register it you may be up shit creek. I woulsd say that the bloke that did it, whacked the plate on another car (therefore eliminating anothe compliance fee)... But your the ones thats going to get ****ed over in the end... I would ask the bloke, then if he isn't ay help Coppers/RTA would be in my sights. Sumo
  19. Spark plugs man, I did mine today... The coppers were rooted. Exactly the same symptoms Sumo
  20. akeenan: in your great wisdom, can you tell my why my NGK coppers melted? I think that Coppers are only asking for trouble after the latest stint..... All of the plugs were stuffed (the little finger was melted off ever single one). I think after that I can justify the price of iridiums Sumo
  21. Mobil make a fully syntethic gearbox/diff oil 75w-90 that im using now and is have the price of redline.... Im as pleased as punch with it.
  22. Hey all, Just letting you know that NGK copper spark plugs melt if you drive to hard/fast for even just small short bursts. Mine have done 6000kms and they are well and truely stuffed. Putting a set of Iridiums in... But they are not cheap @ $21 a plug Cheers Sumo
  23. gjb: there was a RB20 powerd hilux getting around your area of Performance Forums.... Sumo
  24. http://www.geocities.com/cyber_war/fuses.jpg
