well you could get a lawyer and take it to court. i wouldnt be game to explain what the hell you were doing in front a judge. but you could repent and get some character witnesses or somit. See if you can find an excuse for needing a car, eg, work etc. you might as well investigate what you can do, community work etc. i dont know anything to be honest, your just going to have to cop it sweet. i know people who have had their license suspended for doing stupid shit (Speeding & DUI on P's) and he was a mechanic. Think how hard that would have been for him.

do you need to replace the mounting bracket, and clamps too?

welp, on going saga of my car continues. came home saturday night at like 10pm. parked out the front my house. come sunday afternoon, i decided to go visit a mate. as i back out of blue stone bay, i see really toy looking graffitti on my front wall. since its weathered white paint, it usually gets done once a year. think nothign of it. drop by a local servo and put some gas in. as i go to pay, i notice a blue streak of paint across my bonnet. turns out one of the twits couldnt contain himself with ruining my front wall, but painted a blue streak across all 4 cars outside my house. 2 of the neighbours, and my dads. managed to get it off with some metholated spirits, but some people just have no respect. if anyone knows who the hell 'GUNDY' and SADIST are, tell them i am offering some free DENTAL work. hb

i've had people say putting a steering lock on your car is inviting trouble. makes it look like it aint alarmed. also saw some nice photos of club lock or similar lodged in some guys eye socket at driver dynamics course =p if you go skitz, quiktrak would be nice, but they are very expensive; and last i heard they were in receivership or something bad. just car also adjust theft excess if your car gets nicked. ive still got a bog standard alarm at the moment.

That mountain vengence was a real disappointment. The rip only had 1 repetative song, and the stages were pretty repetitive too. I think it even had a button for "drift". It is a budget title after all, but with the Ps2 having a port of the arcade game (or similar), why didnt they license the sega one for peecee? I steer clear of arcades, ive heard bad stories about the arcade game, but i know people who love it. fan of the series, but not going to pump coins into a game. Apparently Bunta drives a wrx, and you can see a blue one in the intro for the latest anime series.

Car Resprayed for the second time now it has burns
heartbrkr replied to Cubes's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Shall have to complain about insurance company paying for taxi rides to inspect work. Mind you, my mom got picked up in a shauffer driven car to collect hers. either RACV or pensioners. I wouldnt go near a lawyer yet. Unless it is a no win no fee case, it will cost more than $50. First step should be small claims tribunal, but i suggest just being polite to the manager about work. -
Hi shortie, I just replaced my passenger headlight. the mirrored bit at the back is shattered, but the lens is still intack, if that is what you are after? Nisswreck (adelaide) had a 2nd hand front left when i called about 2 weeks ago, but he wanted 440$. Ended up getting a brand new one locally for circa 600$. but i had it next day. suggest you give just jap in sydney a call, as they said they had one on the shelf too. Wish i had known Zac could get them cheaper, would have called him, but car was off the road too long at that stage. Anyway, good luck. hb/

update: ok, just had a quick look outside, managed to get the side winker off. it looks to be black and green. judging as how the socket/plug has 3 terminals, im assuming the pink drives the foglights, and they both share the black wire as a common earth. cant get at the wires in the dark at the moment, so will have to eyeball it during the day. i guess i can always look at the one i salvaged. any ideas if these are common part? hb

hi all, i just installed a new bumper, and need to wire up the indicators. i have a series 2 r33, and kept one of the old broken blinkers/foggies. It has a plug with 3 wires coming out of it to the bulb. Pink Green Black Im alright with electronics, but know F all when it comes to car electrics. Can anyone tell me what color does what? I'm assuming Black is ground, and pink and green drive either the indicator or foglights. There seems to be another black wire in the mix, but i dont know what its for. it isnt connected to the bulb i have here. My mechanic wanted to charge me the shop rate to install it, but if i can save myself the cash would be great. Other question is whether it would be possible to get the plug from Nissan or Repco etc. Be easier to wire up the new lights in the house, and just plug into the old sockets. Getting under the car to splice the wires is going to be a real pain in the azz. In which case is there a special type of wire i need? i have an old cord from an Iron with me. Also have some PVC tape. Is this safe to use outside in the wet etc? And just to prove my newbieness, are these bulbs polarized or doesnt it matter which wire i plug in where. eg, no cathode/anode stuff. Nothing on the packaging. Any help appreciated. hb

Rear Strutbar In way of battery??
heartbrkr replied to STYLINE's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
just hijacking thread, i did a search on batteries the other night. but since you guys seem to have been there and done that; what issues are involved with replacing the battery? mine is about to die i feel. i read that you need to rig up a new cage to support a larger battery, and that australian batteries have larger terminals, so might have to replace the clamps that come in the car. are there any brands or places that have suitable batteries? im not looking forward to mucking about in the boot. only discussion i have seen is for big ass batteries for big stereos etc. (sounds like trouble). hb -
again no artist, but the checkers need to follow the contours better. flood fill just looks off. i thought he would want liek a checkered flag, like some race cars, not the whole thing done. eew.

I had my car off the road for 2 weeks. Turned it over once, to get at the front. 2-3 days later when i went to drive it, it wouldnt turn over. ended up jumping it, and took it for a 10 minute drive. turned over ok. dunno how long it will last. but yeah, just saying had it sitting idle for a bit and battery went flat on me too. Accessories worked ok, just no cranking. Yeah, sucks that there is no voltage meter on the dash. You could take a multimeter to the terminals of course. See what level it is.

I know a guy who is an apprentice at hollinger. i keep asking him to hook me up with a cheap gearbox, but he keeps telling me it would be 16 grand. He tells me you can get some knock offs in asia, but of course they are shit.

Hi all, Just wanted to ask a silly newbie question. I was watching some car videos at a friends house tonight. What I see are a bunch of cars being laiden down with sandbags or people sitting in the boot. What I want to ask is, if a car needs this kind of weight to put power to the ground, what is the point? Doesnt it make the car totally uncontrollable or am i missing something, perhaps downforce from a rear spoiler? Seems to be a waste of effort if the car starts hopping about. I'm just being synical i suppose, but enlighten me. Is this useful horsepower? hb/

Kor: It's still worth your while. Cheap price and all. Hit your parents up for the money, i'm sure theyd be happy to part on defensive course. The guy at just cars told me its in my best interest anyway. I thought it was a shame they didnt have any deals or recommend any schools. The reason i asked them, is AAMI offer like a free course for drivers under 25. I was annoyed they wouldnt honour this, since they are owned by the same mob. hb

isnt the fuel filter every 100,000km? i changed mine, but that was related to a stalling issue.

last time i asked "just cars" they didnt give any discount. i believe young and cool will knock off substantial amount. as for mainstream insurers, dunno. again check with yours. hb

hiho, not to perpetuate a myth that skylines are targets to be keyed, but i bought my car with a nice long key scratch across the drivers door. didnt really give a shit, since the price was nice, bought privately locally. what does irritate me tho, i parked at a safeway near a mates house to get some stuff. came back, saw some shit box driven by a women (again no myths) backing up like **** from beside my car, nearly took me out at the same time. thought it was odd, as there is no way she could have arrived after me, and got back to her car before me, as i was only buying smokes and some drinks. had a quick glance at my car, didnt see anything. next day, saw a huge ass vertical line, where she had obviously banged her door against my passenger side. been told it should buff out, as it is her paint, but havent got aroudn to it. the worst event was, i rocked up to my mates house, parked outside his neighbours. 8->11pm; came back out found a broken egg resting on the bonnet. assumed it was my friends little brothers mates, as i had been rude to them earlier. drove home, washed the car in the freezing cold at 12am. didnt drive the following day, then came the weekend, and i noticed some egg on the wing mirror. decided to give it a 2nd go sunday morning. thats when i noticed f'ing paint peeling up below the small window behind driver's door. mentioned the sh't to my friend, and he told me after parking his sh'tbox out the front of his neighbour's house the previous 2 days, the guys son had threatened to slash his tyres if he did it gain. he moved his car, and i foolishly came along and took the space. mentioned it to the cops a few days later, and they said unless i saw him do it, there was nothing they were prepared to do. even after mentioning his threats and antisocial attitude. my friend didnt want to get involved since he had to live there, and if we keyd his car he would have ****ed up all our cars or beat the crap out of us. been told he is beefed up. dropped by a local body shop to ask how much to fix, assumed they could touch it up. the guy wanted to strip the whole panel back to metal and respray. wanted liek $800 to do it. as you can guess i dropped the idea. has been suggested i would lose that money on resale, especially if it starts to rust. mind you its like a 1inch area. f'ck that. i had gotten over this and forgotten about it until i read this thread. hb

what is a team azm?

was going to suggest borrowing a helmet of a friend who owned a motorcycle. is what my brother did for his track days. he installed a fire extinguisher and i think had a spring fitted to his throttle. dunno, he was very secretive, since he was taking my parents car to this without them knowing until the day. dunno about the bonnet restraints, i hate the look of the clips that pop through the bonnet. dont think anything else was done to his car. find out closer to the day. can you say little shit? hb

damn, i wish i had bothered to read this thread earlier, i live like 5 minutes away from the pub. maybe next time. been distracted with getting my car back on the road of late. my brother was in a small ford car club (just a member, not running etc) and they did track days, go cart days, did a little for sale section. also had cams affils etc. also did a monthly club meet & newsletter, with events section (general motorace and club stuff); prolly wouldnt need half that with this forum (which is great btw). would be handy if could find some shops that would other club members discounts (tyres, parts, paint, whatever), might have to offer them some banner space or something. who knows, like i said, usually they buy advertising space in a newsletter (ala neighbourhood watch does etc). but yeah, from what ive seen of my brothers, organising group meetings for sprint days, gocarts, pubmeet are good starts. dunno, bring it up next meeting. hb

hi all, aside from suggestions on the forum, i found this link: r31skylines.bssc.edu.au/wreckers.htm i think it is geared towards earlier cars, but some of the places sound modern enough. again, didnt have much luck with Series 2 parts, a few places ive called seem to have series 1, so the rest of you guys should be in luck. hb

just a suggestion to anyone going, see if you can buy or borrow one of those seat belt pillow things. i found my collarbone very sore at the end of the day, after braking so hard. is a very good price. recommend anyone who hasnt done the basics to do it.
