  1. Ok, ill put my experience to them having a bad/lazy day. So are nissan dealers worth talking to then? I was under the impression they either a) dont want to know about imports, B) rape hard on prices. Does it just come down to a metter of a) convenience B) desperation for odd pieces you cant source at a wrecker etc? I;m going to need a few bolt/screw things for the front wheel guards soon. Prolly time to play with fast s/w =)
  2. my point was, as you said, you need to provide them with the part numbers. unless you download FAST (and get it working), your need to be persuasive. im sure its a piece of cake for them to source a part. also had a feeling they were going to be rediculously expensive when i called, so i didnt want to waste either of our time. just a bad experience i spoze.
  3. the other thread sounds to have solved this problem.
  4. is this the one towards hartwell? dont know of any other. i remember ringing up about getting a head light earlier. the guy wanted me to provide him with the part number, refused to help further, as he didnt "read" japanese. sounded like i had to steal FAST software and find it for him. mind you i had to give the ichikoh part number to wreckers, to see what series model they had. 4d, s1 vs s2 etc. but if you say they are helpful, might have to enquire about some bits n pieces meself.
  5. any chance of getting some more pics posted in some gallery?
  6. the outlets are on smith street. is north side of johnson street.i think the nike warehouse is hidden in the backstreets of abbotsford, not far away; dont know if they sell direct to public. no idea re addidas specificly. i stumbled upon a page of a lot of outlets once before on the net. eg, brooks etc. cant remember where. was someones personal page.
  7. im pretty sure i saw a tofu shop one down near swinburne tafe (vic) last year. even had a jap license plate in hte rear window.
  8. be nice if you could get a list of threads youve replied to, say last 10, and whether anyone has contributed since. easy to forget which area and threads you been whoring.
  9. hi all, i rotated my tyres a few weeks ago. well my mechanics apprentoid did. concern i have is: with the grooves on the tyre running inside->outside drawing water out the edge of the tyres etc. Now that i have moved the front left to the rear right, the groves would be pointing outside->inside when looking top to bottom. Wouldnt this be drawing water into the centre of the tyre, making it want to aquaplane etc? should i have taken the tyre to a shop and had refitted to the rims instead?
  10. Hoping someone plays some footage at club meeting. After a copy if at all possible.
  11. welp an interesting day. i am red as a tomato at the moment. someone should have reminded me to wear sunscreen. i have now been humbled by my car. come to the conclusion that running up the straight is damn boring, and taking corners is so damn hard =) was a little disappointed that i didnt hit the limiter, but didnt have the (2) balls to push it all the way. my tyres are looking a little worse for wear. anyway, time to call it a night, has been a long day, and im sure i have learnt some things about my car and its (my) limits. hb/
  12. Yeah I looked quite the fool washing my car out in the street at 2am in the morning, but yes I can't imagine what would have happened if I didn't notice the egg with this Melbourne heat wave latly. Perhaps I should have put some bacon on there too, and breakfast would have been ready for me in the morning. This happened to me earlier in the year, when my friends neighbour decided to discourage me from parking out the front of his house. I ended up washign it at 12am when i got home. Fortunately i noticed the egg shell lying on roof. Sad part was i missed some bits, and didnt notice till 2 days later when i washed the rest of car. Grrr. Cops said they wouldnt do shit either.
  13. doesnt the auto usually shift up at 5,500?
  14. are you sure over drive is off when it drags at 80? if its on, it likes to cruise at 80 in mine. irks me as it should cruise 100km like a normal car. leave the thing in drive, and be sensible. last thing you want is for the auto to make decisions while you are playing about. if ya going to do stupid shit, leave it in 1st, and wear any consequences, fuel ecconomy/tyres etc. make sure snow isnt on etc.
  15. Make sure you clean the car properly. If you miss any of the egg, and it hardens, it will pull paint up. With the heat lately that wont take long. F'ing imbeciles.
  16. Was reading an article in MX paper tonight. Sxxxxxx Kxxxx appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court charged with two counts of culpable driving over the crash on Dandenong Rd, Windsor, last Tuesday. 2 died in the accident after a Nissan SKyline allegedly driven by Kxxxx hit a power pole. Two other men in the Skyline were injured and taken to Alfred hospital. Magistrate Robert Tuppen ordered Kxxxxx to reappear at the court in January. i've abridged it a little, but how many people were in the car? 2 + 2 + driver? might also mention no mention of drag racing in article. is this thread a non issue?
  17. I know serveral people under 25, who think they are the shit when it comes to driving. they fool about in cars all the time. talk shit about limo-ing, drift packing, handies. The fact they havent written a car off just compounds their attitude that they are invincible. Driving shit boxes also means dont give a hoot about damaging it. Even the more sensible ones, who have had their first accident (and beyond), havent sobered up to speed kills etc, and think doing 80 in a 60 zone if there is no traffic is perfectly fine. Only thing keeping us happy is that they dont drive skylines.
  18. yeah, i should have done a search before. i did find the bolt in the rear, was considering using that. depends on if i have time.skills to fabricatre a strip for the front seat. i thought the seat adjuster might get in the way. the bolts didnt look to line up easily.
  19. I've got trailer lights in my GTR bar for the moment. Its not an 400R tho. They are just a temp fix until i can afford real ones. You can pick some narva ones up for under $10 and test fit them. May be able to take them back if you keep receipt etc. its just 2 wires. Midnight, are you going to sell your oranges ones? =)
  20. Hi guys, prolly been asked before, but i looking to put a fire extinguisher in my R33. Does anyone have any good suggestions on where i might mount one? I think the R34 have bolts underneath the rear seats, but didnt see any when i glanced before.. Reluctant to drill holes into cabin if possible, unless covered by floor mates etc. If it becomes a nuisance to passengers, then just bolt it in for track days etc. I think someone also suggested putting a bracket beneath seat rail. Pic would be appreciates if anyone can be arsed. Cheers. hb/
  21. I was just waiting for something to happen driving my line last night. Especially after recent events. Fortunately only saw one cop car, patroling local shopping centre carpark. They doubled back as i walked in to safeways, were gone when i returned. Only pulled over once for 'random' stop this year.
  22. What upsets me most, is that insurance for a turbo coupe is ridiculous for younger drivers (even older ones). It should be a big enough deterent to keep inexperienced people out of cars, hence insurance companies rape so hard. But then i hear of people blowing all their money on a fast car, and driving around with no insurance, leaving it at risk to accident or theft. im sure who ever is lending or garantor for the loan might need to think twice. As stated previously, if its your hard earned cash, you would quickly realise not to take stupid risks in your car. Also sad part, is it takes a near miss/tragedity before some people realise how mortal they really are. Thats not to say i dont enjoy driving my car and hearing the turbo spool, but i dont speed, and have never had a traffic offense since getting my license. Have had a few low speed bingles however.
  23. I drove home from a friends house one night, and he lives on a leafy street etc. Big ass spider crawls down the outside of my windshield and over towards drivers mirror. Finally pulled up outside my house, and just blew on the horn until dad came out, and i screamed at him to get rid of it. Flung the door open, and ran. didnt drive the car for 2 days after that. But recent event, friend of mine took the license plate of a car which had been sitting in the drive all year (working project), and as he walked up the street he felt something on his arm. From what i heard there were liek 2 or 3 spiders nesting behind the plate. I dont know if they are that sociable. Finally, same dudes place, walking towards his bungalo out the back, and there is this huge fookin spider up next to his door. looked to be 20cm across, with huge bulbous body. screamed for my friend to come out and kill it. he thought i was talking about a normal huntsman, and even he had enver seen somethign so big. needless to say i ran liek bitch through the door.
  24. talking to cops was going to be a waste of time. i just wanted to vent off at someone.. on the off chance that perhaps they did question someone. im assuming its kids. i dont think drunks would choose to rape my car so well. more likely to piss on it or somit. im over the badge incident. thankful they didnt smash some glass to rummage through it. im still convinced there is no legitmate reason for punks to be out after 11. they usually have no money, arnt allowed to drink. cops should just nab them, and ask their parents to explain what they are doing. and yes, i was young once, so i know exactly what they get up to =)
