Hi Everybody My car is leaking from the rack and pump, and fairly new to Adelaide so don't know where to go, I have called sprint auto parts and got pricing but my problem is I don't know how to remove the rack myself so would prefer if I could just drop my car off and pick it up fixed Any suggestions and advice would be great!

  4. Cheers guys, cleaned up the engine bay and found hose's to the pump and also to the rack are leaking some where along line, thankful the cop wasn't a douche bag and just gave me a warning. And cheers for the info guys

Hi everybody Got a "defect warning" last night for "engine oil leaks" I am new to SA and also on my p's which didn't help my case of getting pulled over in a r33 n/a( cop was hoping to find a turbo). So my question, is it anything to be worried about? As in am I going to pulled over and checked for the warning in future? I am only worried due the fact I had a look in the day light and couldn't see any specs of oil anyway I even jumped on the car and looked up and still couldn't see anything so I'm worried they will just keep "finding" "leaks"
  6. Hey mate Are you planning on just whacking on a turbo on your de motor or do a conversion? If your just wanting to whack a turbo on then there is a thread that lists pretty much everything you will need to know to get you started, but as I am slowly working out and also others will suggest the cost involved are quite up there for around the same price you could sell and buy the turbo model. Since your only just getting your p's I would just do suspension and get used to how the car handles so when you can upgrade you will be able to handle it with the extra power:) but after all it is your car so do what you want, so check out the thread and talk to your mechanic and see how you go

Hi everybody I am having a loud squealing/grinding noise when I start my car , at first I thought it could be a belt but with some help from a mate today the sound is coming from starter motor the best way to describe the sound is if you turn your key to start when the engine is already on, so would this be the solenoid playing up? I have found the DIY clean for the starter motor but I am not really confident, nor have the best tools, so has anyone else faced this issue? Any help will be greatful
  8. Hi everybody Don't know if this should go in general or not apologies if wrong section. Had my car serviced last fortnight with plugs changed. Now mainly first thing in the morning and in the afternoon I start my car and it splatters and idle needle bounces around and will stall with no throttle and I'm stumped what could be causing this I have googled and searched with no luck, so if anyone could help me that would be great! I will try and post up a video tomorrow of the start up

For those who are slightly interested haha, mechanic couldn't find anything too major wrong other then coil packs are there way out and my power steering pump has a "slight" leak and tie end bushes need replacing and front rotas need replacing ( as he's not willing to machine them) overall I'm fairly pleased with it and gives me a good start point to start fixing things

  11. Checked your coil packs and spark plugs man? Had the same issue with my rb25de sometimes it went good the other days miss and splatter, turned out all my plugs and 3 of my coil packs were shotty

Hi everyone Tried using the search bar for the issues and had little luck, cut a long story short, got myself a s1 r33 non turbo( on p plates) took it to a mechanic and came back with afew issues but main ones that are puzzling me are Powersteering pump has a "slight leak" mechanic is getting the info on to re cond it and I'm just wondering if it will be better for the long run to get a new one?( if you can and if anyone knows part number) Caster arm bushes need replacing, any one know part number? Reason I'm asking is the mechanic has quite a big mark up on parts so I rather supply the parts Any help would be greatful cheers

Hi everyone I'm Jamey aka jimmy, new owner of 93' r33 n/a ( p plater) some of you have already answered my noob questions hahaha I don't have any future mods planned engine wise or visual, just wanting to keep it clean and get nice ride height and running nice, reason for buying what is turning about to being abit of a lemon is to get used to the handling and a better understanding of the rb's so when I obtain my opens I can upgrade to a turbo version I'm also new to SA

Hi everyone Not sure if this is the right section, im new to south aust and the new owner of a r33 n/a and was thinking about sending the car to Japco for a tune mainly for their prices on their website $65 per hour, car is getting a service with AMS and their prices for a tune up seems to be abit steep Any advice would be great Cheers

  19. Hi everyone I have googled my question with no results, I was wondering if someone could tell me is it just a warning light for when its f**king up or? Reason I'm asking is the last few days on start up there is a strong hydraulic when I turn my wheels, car is booked for mechanic on tues so ill get the answer then I'm more trying to get a understanding Cheers

Hi everyone, new to this site, I have tried using the search bar with no results, Car is going into mechanics anyway for an oil leak this week but this morning I jacked the car up to see if I could spot where the drips are coming from(seems to coming from steering rack ) anyway while I was under there I notice coolant what looked like seeping thru on the block on the passenger side, should I be worried? Car is going mechanic as states but I would like to get a rough idea before I get ripped off Cheers

  23. Cheers for that info guys very handy, car is still leaking yet to source where from, and still ticking and missing every now an then, going into mechanics on Monday so ill see what they say

I wouldn't drop in a DET due to the cost factor and all the bullshit that goes along with it (mod plates ect) and after reading on here and how so many people say not worth spending money as you can't get any real gains, plus I'm not made of money lol, my only goal for this car is to keep it clean and respectable (best I can for a non turbo) and learn how it handles and get a better under standing of the RB'S and if I learn how to use what power my car does have more efficient then I would be pleased
  25. Thanks for the advice guys, thought about dropping in a DET but how will my brakes handle it? In a sense to do it proper and safe my brakes will have to be upgraded right? And running gear? Even tho I will have to leave the motor stock to not to attract to much attention right?
