  1. Thats right Kam. For those who dont know the person Kamikaze refers to in his post is me. I posted on here asking for some advice around 12 months ago when I was in the same position as the thread starter. Luckily I am in a position where a friend of the family is a solicitor, and I spoke to her less than 30mins after the police officer pulled me over. As Kamikaze has stated, I have had the charge against the pod filter dropped which at the time was enclosed by a Unique Auto Sports box. This is apparently still worthy of a defect. My engineers certificate got me off this charge however, as when the prosecutor's solicitor saw it himself, the charge was immediately dropped. It's now up to me however to prove that my standard seats are standard. So far I am trying to obtain a copy of the R33 (S1) sales brochure from funkymonkey, am comparing part numbers shown on Nissan fast software with the part numbers on my seats, and am basically finding as many photos as I can of Series 1 interior's to prove my case. Before you ask, no I am not a provisional driver I have been fully licensed for over 2 years, I was not wearing a baseball cap, I was not speeding, I was not abusive or offensive to the officer any way etc etc. I was however told to admit to speeding or I would be defected for a faulty speedo, I was told to step out of the car which I did, and then yelled at to get off the road, I was called a spastic, a retard (I do not posses either of these mental or physical conditions) and told that I would wrap my two female passengers around a tree because of the vehicle I was driving. I can go on with a lot more detail, but for the purpose of this thread, and my personal situation with the case I will leave it at this. All I can suggest is that you stick with your principles, and If you know yourself that you have done nothing wrong, that you fight it.
  2. I'm a mechanical draftsman by trade, and deal with stainless steel quite a bit. I am unsure what grade S/S the X-Force items are but when I saw a GTST example up close it appeared that the steel used and alot of impurities in it compared to most of the Australian stuff we deal with. Most places use at least 304 S/S which is the most widely available, but still not ideally suited to high temp applications when comparing to 409 S/S which is used in most of the more expensive/quality shops (Di Fillipo for example). I suggest you remove the dump pipe and sell it and have a quality item fabricated, or purchase another from a well known/trusted brand. As someone else said in an earlier post the dump pipe may warp, and this is characteristic of most stainless steel, and certainly more so for a cheaper grade such as the x-force item.

  14. I believe the rule is 2 inches larger in diameter and one inch larger in width HOWEVER I when I went for a pink slip at the start of the year the mechanic told me he had to clear a defect for "non standard rims" Yes thats right someone was defected because the rims were not a factory option but were within the boundaries.

  19. If its an Airbag one you take off two plastic clips either side of the wheel. You will see a gold looking cap head bolt head with a star pattern on the inside. Two remove this you'll need a special "T" type allen key which you can buy at tool places, you will need a T50 for this particular bolt. Once each bolt has been removed the horn cover/airbag will come off. Unplug the connection on the back and set aside. Next you'll need a 19mm socket (from memory its 19mm anyway) and a breaker bar to undo the main nut on the steering collumn spline. Might pay to get a mate to hold the wheel as you do this as they are quite tight. Once this has been removed you simply have to remove the wheel off the spline, which can be quite difficult and may require a pulley puller. If you dont have access to one of these move your drivers seat foward and rest your knees on the bottom of the wheel and use your hands on the top to try and lever it off. Carefull it doest fly back and hit you in the face when it comes off though.
  20. Still interested. Thanks BATMBL
  21. All those parts you mentioned above, plus I would also be changing the gearbox and diff fluid. I haven't heard of the oil pump being changed, but it's probably a good idea. Some other things to be considered would be plugs and possibly the O2 sensor if they havent been done already. Preventative maintenance is the key
  22. can some one confirm what these are made from? I'm confused that these are being reffered to as Leather seat covers but then also reffered to as Leather/Vinyl. Which one is it? or is it just that they feel like leather?
  23. Do you sell Nak stuff Chris? If so do you know if you are able to get hold of Nakamichi SP-C6500 splits?
