Hi, Something strange has happened earlier today on my 32 GTS-t. I turned on the Aircon today and the car could not hold idle. It dipped below the 900rpm idle point for the duration that the Aircon was on (wasn't on for long, cos the engine was practically about to stall). Ever since this happened, the car has had trouble idling. The car has a chipped ECU (dr_drift), dry element POD, the AFM doesn't have a mesh, stock BOV + plumb-back, and the previous owner (only bought this car 3 months ago) said he has changed the O2 sensor prior to sale (have receipt for the O2 sensor). The exhaust (3" exhaust + running rich at idle) has been popping heaps more than usual as a result of this strange idling problem. Also, the fan belt has been really squeaky of late (changed from recent 100000km major service will all belts changed). Could this be affecting the idling? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Perhaps look at a GTS25 (RB25DE) with a 2.5L NA engine? They are 140-something Kw (@ flywheel) stock and since a R32 weighs between 1260kg to 1320kg, it should pretty alright. Dunno how much of a difference full-comp will cost you for a turbo R32 vs. a NA R32 (I don't think it's like night and day), it maybe better goin the turbo route. IMO I don't think it's worth paying $2000-odd dollars on full comp insurance on a car that's some 12 - 15 years old. You'll pay half the value of the car just in insurance in 3 to 4 years.

Hahaha fair enough . So I presume I'm not missing anything. I kinda figured the adapter would be way too long for what you had in mind .
-
Ah okay thanks. I took some pics of my pod + adapter. I think the adapter is probably too big/long for what CerealKiller has in mind. I also took some pics of the intake area. Can you tell if everything in there is as it should be or am I missing anything?
-
Cool thanks. I was kinda concerned whether I got all the necessary parts to the stock airbox when I got the car. I know the 33s have a plastic intake adapter thingy mounted to the top of the left headlight, but I couldn't see anything similar on my 32. Yea I was referring to the airbox intake under the headlight. I wasn't sure where the intake duct (into airbox) actually went.

Looks like your pod is attached directly to the AFM. You'll proly need an adapter pipe of some sorts. I have a GReddy (dunno if it's genuine tho) adapter that mounts the pod abouts where your intake duct is sitting now from (what remains of) the stock airbox. I can take a picture of it if you like, but am at work atm so I'll have to do it later. You'll proly not want the pipe to be as long as mine tho... Hey, OT but could you do me a big favour? Could you take a picture of where the front of the intake duct goes into? I've never seen it before (got my 32 with a pod already installed), and I have the stock airbox and I'm not sure where the start of the intake duct is suppose to go (I'll proly put the stock airbox on when summer comes around).

R32 Seats and Headlights/Indicators
Rayage replied to C_DawG's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Interested in the headlights and indicators mate. Are the headlights the projector headlights? I'm after the projector headlights and indicators (prefer clear but impartial at this stage). I can do $150 + pick up (pending pics). -
R32 wreaking, all parts
Rayage replied to boostn32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm after: - front indicators l/r (hopefully u have the clear indicators) - front light cluster l/r (after the projector lights) - clear protective cover for instrument cluster - centre vents - stock gear knob Is this a GTS-t or GTR you're wrecking? Can you post pics of your parts to verify condition? Purchase will obviously depend on the condition of parts. -
r32 gtst parts for sale
Rayage replied to sinisteR32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi, How much do you want for the driver's side reverse light? I need to check mine I think it's the driver's side reverse light that has a scratch on it. Is that the stock AFM attached to the Air box? Interested in the AFM. Are you willing to separate? Also, do you have the clear cover for the instrument cluster? If so, what condition is it in? -
Hi, I noticed my idle isn't completely stable either. That last (first) time I took out the AFM for a clean it didn't have a mesh . Will any mesh to or does it have to be a specific (nissan) one?

R 32 GTS-T cluster
Rayage replied to aussie_in_nara's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Interested mate. I presume it's never been used (0KM odometer)? I have a '92 GTS-t. They're interchangeable yea (I'm fairly sure they are)? -
Ohhh... hey that's pretty cool . Learn something new everyday . So like, I noticed the word SKYLINE is punched-in on most regular R32s. I don't quite follow on how it works... are the words 'cut-out' on the factory fitted LEDs or are they merely 'placed over'. Sorry for the OT post.
-
Isn't this a 33-only mod? I believe the panel that is being referred to is the clear plastic panel that lines up with the rear indicators on the R33 coupes (with the word SKYLINE written in silver). The 32s have a pretty solid looking piece of metal or plastic that looks pretty single-piece to me.

Thanx for the help dood. I don't have the manual for this head unit cos it came with the car at purchase. Luckily I found the manual online, tho . Turns out it's some 'reverse' mode and all it does is it reverses the colours every 10 seconds. Bah..

Hi, I just recently got my car back from its 100,000km service and I noticed that my head unit (Pioneer DEH-7450MP) is doing something that it didn't do before the service: The screen is an aqua-on-black display (the text is aqua). Every now and then the colours reverse (such that the text is black, and the backcolour is aqua). The head unit seems to work fine, but the random changes in colours flipping is distracting (while driving). It slipped my mind to take the head unit off when I took the car in for servicing (the battery was disconnected at some stage during the service I'm sure). The service was done by my mechanic (someone I know and trust). I'm sure he took the negative terminal off the battery. Never-the-less, I want to know if it's some setting I need to fix or is it something more terminal with the head unit?

R32 GTS-T Type M front bumper vs GTR Replica.
Rayage replied to Remix-'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Sorry mate but I'm not interested in selling the GTR bar at this present time. I may get the urge to install it again if I tire of the Type M bar. -
R32 GTS-T Type M front bumper vs GTR Replica.
Rayage replied to Remix-'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hi, I also recently purchased a R32 GTS-t. When I inspected the car it had a GTR bar and lip on it (most probably a replica but unsure if it's fibreglass). Anyways, luckily the previous owner kept the Type M bar and was good enough to install it back on before I took ownership. Anyways, when I test drove the car (when it still had the GTR bar on it) it was fine over most roads. Going over standard speed bumps was fine. Going up driveways that were mildly inclined (say approx 10 degrees) was a hassle though. Had to angle the approach to avoid scraping the lip. I'm pretty sure if I had kept the GTR bar on the car I would've damaged it already (I've only owned the car for 2 weeks). I think if I took the lip off then it would be about the same height off the ground as the Type M bar. But it'd look funny. Anyways, if you're installing a big FMIC then the GTR bar would be better cos of the larger intake area. The Type M bar has a reasonable intake but the GTR bar is definitely bigger. (My car doesn't have a FMIC btw). I still have the GTR bar and lip sitting around. Personally I won't be putting it back on. It's too much of a hassle trying to not scrape it (the Type M bar also scraps but on very steep driveways, or driveways that start with a deep drain/trough). I think what it boils down to is whether the larger intake area affects the performance of your FMIC, and what sort of commitment you can afford to put into living with a GTR bar. Sure, it looks better but are you willing to put up with the downsides for the looks? That's what you have to ask yourself. For me, the choice was simple. I couldn't be bothered dealing with the added hassles; plus I think the Type M bar looks pretty good, if a little understated. Ray -
