Varrstoen are probably one of the higher quality replica wheel brands out there. Ive read countless threads on them. They have a huge following in America compared to over here. Theyr most well known for the TE37 replicas.

I was considering boxing it all up and leaving it how it is but I think ill just stick to the plans ive had for a long time. Was originally going to buy a more stock example but after looking at 3 and each had problems here and there I had a look at this one. It was in really good condition and mechanic check only picked up an oil leak from the cam covers so i will be doing the gaskets and half moons on them. I wont be that much out of pocket by swapping manifold / turbo / airbox. I will resell all the old bits which should cover half the cost. A quick search I found the 3076r for $1499. Will be getting a low mount brae manifold for $1100 and will probs just get the current dump cut up and modified to suit. Will re use wastegate (turbosmart 45mm) and see if the lines are re-usable too. Time shall tell

Heres a few pics of the car and engine bay atm: Exterior wise I dont mind it atm. It has an aftermarket rear bar which will be swapped with standard. Looking at getting a roof spoiler, ducktail wing as well as an Hasemi sport front lip. Wheels will be changed eventually. I really like XD9s and Ce28n but theyr out of my budget alot. Most likely be going 18x9.5 +22 Varrstoen 3.3.1 in gloss black (ce28n replica) Heres some pics of my first car that I built on my Ls back in 2010 BEFORE PHOTO: (it was an abomination when I bought it lol) Miss that R31, if anyone has seen it floating around ide love to hear how its going.. Pretty sure the buyer said he was from Newcastle or Sydney when I sold it in 2011. Have since owned a 5 Speed Xr6 falcon, 4.2 turbo diesel patrol and currently the Peugeot 306 gti6. Looking forward to enjoying the r33

p.s. I have seen your thread 34gtt and your videos and it sounds absolutely mental, cant wait to go to a 3076r and pick up some more response as well as that sweet sound from the anti surge housing. Do you get picked on often with your 34 'looking' as stock as it is? Ever been checked under the hood by the HWP?

Is the foreshore the area near the Brewery? I moved here in February and still need to get some knowledge on the area, I live near the uni/ go to uni and dont really go driving around much atm except to work at Kotara and back and sometimes around darby/bar beach (I drive around in a peugeot 306 gti6 as a daily). I only ever seem to see the highway patrol cars on the main highways and usually late at night, never seen one during the day, maybe im just lucky? Im going to be swapping to a lowmount gt3076r, stock airbox, and black piping to try and keep it under wraps. It has a greddy plenum too which I am thinking about swapping back to standard with return flow piping but thatll come after the turbo change. Standard r33 type M bodykit and buddy club p1s atm. Havnt actually got the car yet, looked at it, mechanic check and bought it the other day and am driving down to pick it up on thursday. As for the gate, its currently plumbed in but I want to get it flanged for a screamer pipe when I swap manifold/turbo. Are cops really going to crawl under the car and go hunting for a tiny little pipe somewhere?

Just bought a gunmetal r33 gts-t. What are the cops like in Newcastle towards imports? Before this I owned a GQ patrol with a 5" lift, 33" tyres and 4.2 turbo diesel with no mufflers among other illegal mods and they never even looked at it... Have never been pulled over in my life and I have owned some sus cars in the past so not sure what to expect... Its pretty standard looking on the outside but has a highmount gt35r among other stuff under the hood (am planning on swapping to lowmount gt3076r and standard airbox sometime). Also, can anyone recommend good workshops or tuners around this area

Yeah I was thinking of keeping the intake plenum. Its just the cast finish it isnt chromed up like a lot of them so it doesnt stand out too much. Was going to paint all cooler piping black. Might do the cam covers and plenum in wrinkle coat black. I was thinking of running the gate off the housing , but will need to see whether there is enough room first. Im going to go a low mount steampipe, not keen on the standard manifold. Is there any disadvantage to the lines being too long? I wouldnt of thought being too long would be a problem unless they obviously get in the way of other stuff?

I had a feeling someone would say that, but I want it setup to how I would like it.. thats what modifying a car is all about. Just because I bought it like this doesnt mean I have to live it right? Ive been in two unopened rb25 / 3076r combos now and I love the response. If I was only after response I would just change the turbo but theres more to it. I do have some reasons, besides the response of the 3076r , mainly I am after a stock looking engine bay. Atm its not very discreet with the huge high mount turbo, front facing plenum, chrome intercooler pipes as well as intake and pod. I am going for a more standard look hence why I want to return to stock plenum, return flow piping and a low mount turbo with stock airbox. (yes I know itll still be illegal with the aftermarket turbo, exhaust manifold, ewg etc, but its a lot more discreet which is what im after).

Hey guys, I just bought an R33 gtst and am wanting to swap some parts in the engine bay and just have some questions. Current mods worth mentioning in relation to my question - garrett gt3582r - stainless high mount exhaust manifold - greddy intake plenum - hypertune 90mm throttle body - siemens 750cc injectors - custom fuel rail I was originally going to buy a more standard r33 and do my own course of mods but got this for a good price with lots of other mods (not listed) that I could re-use. Anyway... some questions - I want to swap to a lowmount garrett gt3076r. The manifold I use will be a Brae Fabrications lowmount. Can I re-use the water and oil lines that are on my gt3582r turbo on the lowmount gt3076r? - I want to swap to standard intake plenum. Is there anything that would have been swapped or changed when fitting the greddy plenum that I would need to revert to standard when going back to the stock plenum? (im thinking anything along the lines of studs, hoses, sensors etc)? - Can I fit the hypertune 90mm throttlebody to the standard plenum? Is it worth it for this power level or should I just use a standard throttle body? - Will the Siemens 750cc injectors & fuel rail be compatible with the standard plenum? Any information would be a great help, cheers guys

Newcastle And Central Coast Skyline Spotted Thread
Bennis replied to -Jimmy-'s topic in New South Wales
Seen a red R35 GTR twice now, I cant remember the plates but they were custom and for memory were a name, possibly asian name. First time I saw it in Jesmond the second near Sandgate. Other then that, literally seen no skylines at all except some civilian r31's since I moved here in February.. Edit: Just remembered I have also seen a blue R34 GTR parked on University Drive a couple times too near the Stannett Street lights. -
Can you link some more photos on here like you did before? Interior / side / rear / engine bay. Also where is it located? Any imperfections or problems? Cheers

Right.... Please do it then. Keen to see the results p.s. has to be a troll. Post pics of 2001 spec blue undercar neons

Hey guys, I'm after a standard or near standard r33 gts-t. Would prefer the Series 1 with Type M bodykit. I am after a car in GOOD condition (paint in good nic, interior in good nic, mechanically a1). Please no shitters or cars with problems as I won't be interested. (will be getting a mechanic inspection on any potential buys) Preferably Gunmetal/ Grey however will also consider Black, Silver or Whites (no reds). NSW only and they must be manual. Preferably as close to standard as possible but obviously will not mind if there is basic mods such as exhaust/ intake / fmic etc etc. I am planning on building a 3076r based rb25 build so if it has that turbo on it then I may be interested but not really too keen on anything else as I dont want to have to dick around and swap stuff. If you want to sell your 33 and it fits this description then let me know! PM me here or Email : [email protected] or link some pics in this thread. Cheers Ben

Factory Gtr Twin Bov Performance/ Sound?
Bennis replied to Bennis's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Probably wont be retaining stock plenum. Most likely going with a ebay Greddy or JUN style front facing plenum to neaten up the engine bay. So will have to fab up a mount in the intercooler piping. -
Factory Gtr Twin Bov Performance/ Sound?
Bennis replied to Bennis's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I dont mind the quieter bovs out there, but some are stupidly loud. GTR stock twins from what people say sound good but yeah if you or anyone can get some audio that would be mad. On the other note, if anyone has ran them on an RB25DET did you run both or just one? I am planning on a basic stock internal rb25det / gt3076r / usual supporting mods to get to around 300rwkw. -
Hey guys, Planning an R33 gts-t build atm and am looking for some efficient bov solutions. Alot of people praise the stock GTR twin BoVs for their performance. I was wondering whether people run just a single GTR bov or use the twins on other engines (more so rb25dets). Also, I was wondering if anyone had a sound clip of them. I searched all over youtube but the only videos I got are off gtr's running loud aftermarket bov's. People say they sound good and subtle, so has anyone got some audio. Perhaps a generous GTR owner could take a sound clip? Any info would be great Cheers

Reinforcing Stainless Manifold To Stop Cracks
Bennis replied to Bennis's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Great idea, I could add an extra hangar to the dump pipe. I was also thinking of adding a flex piece to the dump pipe, do they cause any restrictions in flow? I would be aiming around the 300rwkw area with the 0.82 GT3076R and supporting mods (fmic, injectors, etc etc). Also, the mainfold has a wastegate pipe for a 38mm gate. The pipe is not on an ideal angle and I dont want to run a 38mm gate. I am going to get an external wastegate welded onto the turbine housing. If I simply cut the wastegate pipe as short as possible and cap it off will this small pipe create any negative effects on flow in the manifold? Here is a pic showing where I would cut and weld shut the pipe on the manifold (not my manifold but exact same type). -
lol ill tell you right now no one in their right mind will buy the car with that decal on it. I am from the generation you all speak off (I am 20 though) and me and all my mates would crack up laughing if we saw that... Young blokes will respect a clean car more then one with TACKY stickers on it from a 10 year old movie

Reinforcing Stainless Manifold To Stop Cracks
Bennis replied to Bennis's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Good point, I didnt think of that at all. Still after examples though... I was thinking of bracing the collector area to the head flange. Could also brace the comp / turbine housing to the engine somewhere too? -
Hey guys, I forgot my old account name and email with it so I made a new one. Long story short, I am currently selling my GQ Patrol and am about to buy another skyline. Most likely an R33 GTS-T and will be going with the fairly common route of unopened rb25 / gt3076r based build. Now, I have lieing around one of those cheap stainless steel china manifolds and I will be using it in the build. I know it would be wiser to go with a nice steampipe manifold from 6boost/ ETM etc etc but I have one, its free and currently in perfect condition. I am aware these crack easily but have heard rumour that if you brace and support the manifolds to take alot of the weight off them it can help with preventing this. I was wondering if anyone who has braced / reinforced a stainless manifold could post up how they did it with pics or similar. It would be great. I was thinking of just bracing the individual runners themselves as well as bracing the entire manifold to the engine bay or similar to help take the weight off it. Any info or experiences would be great. YES I DID SEARCH BTW Cheers
