LAG was only 1 second slower than him... not 4 but still... twice the power.... What were you doing out there Leigh? just bumming around??? put some effort in!!
-
it is simple as it sounds... But definately don't worry about asking nooby questions... I would rather you ask questions and know what is goin on, rather than hold up the days events becuase you don't. basically there is a finish gate at the end of each map. The gate is made up of a series of cones designed so that you have to stop completely within it its walls. Once you have come to a stop, your time stops. A volunteer is then required to remove the cone from in front of your car so you can drive forward and move on the to next event. Watch some of the videos people have posted and you can get an idea of what i mean. Its nice a simple! And you get to be right up close to the action. It basically just helps to keep everyone moving so we turnover cars at a faster pace...

2009 Motorsport Annoucement - Rnd 6 & 7 New Dates!
TTCorona replied to Bec's topic in Archived Events
I thought it was all being knocked down and turned into housing... even with all the proposed work out there CAMS still wouldn't give them a licence to hold events so Boby was just gonna subdivde it and put houses there... Just a rumor I heard... no credible evidence to back it up as yet... -
sweet... done
-
Sweet, thanks mate... Look forward to seeing you up there... Keep them comming people!
-
Great work guys.. have added you name to the list... Keep them comming people!! "Remember without these nice people that help us out... there wont be an event..." I know people probably get tired of hearing that saying... but sadly it is true!! So make sure you round some mates up!

we need the most volunteers in the morning, from 8am to 12:30... after that we only need a few so there will be plenty of time for passenger rides in the afternoon.. the afternoon will also be the better time for spectating

OK - so most of you will be aware that DECA is coming up on Saturday 15th August and as always, the event wont go ahead unless we get enough people to help out. So we are calling for your assistance - if your willing to help, or if your bringing a friend who's willing to help - please speak up All officials will be given lunch and water etc during the day. We also need all officials to be at DECA by 8.00am on Saturday morning - same time as competitors. This is very important that we get people along to help for this stuff.... otherwise it affects everyone day... If you see one of your friends standing around doing nothing, volunteer them for one of these jobs... It will make the day run HEAPS smoother, which is better for you!!! We need all the help we can get!! Also remember, that these jobs all get you up close and personal to the action, and really gets you involved! (Posistions are subject to change!) My extreme welded itself to the flywheel and the presure plate! Having said that. Extreme's customer service was fantastic... they took it back and relined it with a new (improved) lining, machined my flywheel and sent it back over to me all free of charge Since then its been fine.... no probs at all... Compared to my dealings with Exedy, who couldn't even get a clutch for my engine, and wouldn't even do any looking into it for me....

Ok folks i have finally updated all the results for the season so far... WOOHOO RESULTS!!! Will get the first page updated soon! I will put up the official rules soon Any questions please ask... Enjoy

Heh the head gasket was my own fault for using a cheap gasket! The Corona will be there, better than ever Also to add for new comers thinking about competing DECA is VERY easy on cars, the speeds are relatively low, and grip levels are far less than a track day. Which over all means less stress on your car, and importantly more FUN!!!! Thanks for the early offers of volunteering... will have a thread up soon, chasing people... SO, make sure you all drum up some people to come along and have a look/help!! Good to see there is so much interest, this should be good!!
-
DECA is fun no matter what your tyres are like... or even what car you have!! Its a great event to muck around in your car in a safe, LEGAL, environment.. and to top it off it is a great social weekend as well, good to catch up with old mates or meet new ones!
-
Heh i'm pretty sure its not your exhaust that is your problem with the noise police.... fairly certain it would have something to do with that external screamer pipe....
-
Great work Newton... will you be at this weekends WRX sandown? Out of curiosity what car was this guy driving (from the MSCA day results)??? 33 Greg ALCOCK 1:19.3413

Has any one ever heard the saying, "Making Mountains out of Molehills"??? The hoodies were an exciting new mechandise products which has been on the most part well accepted. They are one form of merchandise that the club offers. I'm not up on the full list, but there are polo shirts, stickers, stubbie holders, lanyards, bottle openers. As Ash pointed out also their are other things on the way like Hats and Gararge Shirts. I think the hoodie haters are getting way to worked up over it... it is very simple... if its not for you, then its not for you. Yes the committee are aware that a large majority of members drive GTST's, there is also other people like me who have never owned a skyline, and probably never will. I just see it as a Nissan SKYLINE car club.... the flagship of the SKYLINE range being the GTR.. As someone metioned before, people buy HSV jackets and wear them around... I'm sure people wouldn't be as interested in buying an Executive commodore jacket... (some people might ) As for the whole cruise thing... i will be honest and say that i cannot work out the whole deal with this at all... Obviously i am missing something... You seem to be talking about SAUVic taking on a cruise without first speaking to its creators.... Um.... its a bunch of blokes/chicks driving their cars from as carpark/meetspot to a burger joint. That's all it is... The small details about where these places are is irrelevant... I can't really see that a simple idea like that has 'creators' and i gotta tell ya... its probably been done a few times since cars and burger joints were around invented... Not sure... but i'm pretty sure i'm pretty on the money with that... As for the committee being isolated from the members... I've been a member for 5 odd years now... and only just started to get involved with the committee this year... I honestly can say that i have neva even seen a hint of this isolation you mention... I would be interested to know if many other people feel the same way as this... Then we can work towards making a better solution for everyone. Heh Heh.. We need a suggestion box?!?! like in most workplaces And in the end... I'm sure no one is really attempting to offend anyone else... As Ash commented on..... it is very easy to take a line of text on a page way out of its intended context... I think we all need to remember that....
-
agreed on the most part... I'm not sure, but i guess it was seen as a bit exciting to have the whole unveiling... rather than everyone knowing what they are getting first
-
This is otherwise known as Communism. Everyone is equal and has equal rights It seems like a great way do do things in theory, but never works in practice... Some people always end up being MORE equal than the others... Your views are all important and will always be looked at in whateva is being undertaken at the club But in reality, a democratic system is a much better way to go... Like I said before, good on you guys for organising stuff and running cruises... Not long ago there were no members taking it apon themselves to run cruises, as such, they were no so common. Its great to see people organising events and getting together based around the club. I'm sure you would have received a heap of credit for your cruise when it was run last time, either on the day/night or on the fourms afterwards. And i'm not doubting the amount of work taken to organise somthing like you did. But in the end... it was just a simple idea, and what is really the problem with someone else picking it up and running it again? I don't really see the problem with that myself...

There is nothing wrong with bringing up issues on the forum at all. It is, like you say, a perfect place to do so. What was brought up in this thread was not addressed as an issue... I was quite simply an attack on the SAUVic committee made after the fact.... basically it has been put forward that the committee has done a shit job... and to take a page out of your book.. No one has a gun to your head forcing you to buy one of these hoodies... I also do not own a GTR or for a matter of fact I am NOT a big fan of them. I also have not purchased one of the hoodies for that reason. There is a whole range of other SAU vic merchandise available for you to choose from. Remember also in your comments about letting the members decide.. You are never going to have a product that a few hundred members are ALL going to agree on... Everyone will always have their own opinions on what should be done
-
I'm with Ash on this one, its quite annoying see the effort that the committee puts into this club, to then see that people would resort straight to complaining about the topic, without speaking to a member of the committee first. Especially if you are not going to bring it up in person, and sit there on your computer and have a cry. Also agree with Ross RE committee nominations. It's great to see that some of you have your own ideas about how the club should be run, but yet no one nominated themselves towards any committee rolls... You say that the members should have more input, members nominate themselves for committee positions. then members vote for the people they want to see in the job. Which also adds to Ross's comment, not only was their a lack of numbers putting them self forward for the club, there was also a lack of people voting for who they wanted to run the club. So there is definitely enough chance for anyone in the club to make a difference... On top of that, speak to one of us, tell us your ideas... Don't just sit at home having a winge on the forums about it afterwards... Can I also point about in reference to these comments Good work to you guys in organising cruises, you look like you do a great job. But keep in mind, you are posting your events on the Skylines Australia / Victoria forum Therefore, they are all technically SAUVic Unofficial events... Also have you ever been on an Offcial SAUVic crusie... and then at a later date organised with your mates to go for that same cruise? Have you then stolen that cruise off SAUVic? /end my 2c

Just checked facebook and it appears that Adz and Scottsman did win the overall event!! Great work guys!
-
We went down to Haunted Hills for a look today... When we left, Ryan had set the fastest time overall at the Haunted Hills Hill Climb. and at a rough guess it looked like Thompson and Newton were still looking good for taking out the overall title... Haven't heard any official results as yet... stupid website doesn't work for crap

This kicks off today people... http://www.duttonrally.com/results.php Make sure you check out how the SAU Lads are goin!!
