  1. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think you only get partial knock detection, and an issue with the TPS which results in hesitation/poor driveability. Some people experience it, some don't.
  2. If you're looking at E46's, look into their rear subframe crack issue. Apparently it plagues that model.
  3. No probs. Pretty much any other platform is fine for Nistune, it's a shame the R33 ECU is one of the few which isn't.
  4. If it helps at all, I was planning on getting a Z32 + Nistune for my R33. Called several well-respected tuners based here in Melbourne, and most suggested binning it and getting a PFC.
  5. I wonder if you searched hard enough you'd find a CLK63 AMG for under 50k? Coupe, sits 4, sounds awesome, goes extremely fast, handles decently. Classy.
  6. Never seen it happen like that before lol. Is it cracked down the length of the bore?
  7. ^Ouch. Pull the intake off and check if there is any axial play on the compressor impeller. Or any wear on the compressor housing as above.
  8. Needs more 18x10 +12 rear, 18x9.5 +15 front And more low! Bodywork looks good.
  9. Washed in Glen Waverly
  10. As mentioned above, these are steel, internal hex and cheap: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BLACK-STEEL-TUNER-WHEEL-NUTS-x20-ROTA-M12x1-25mm-/161233337414?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item258a417c46&_uhb=1 Also, are you planning on PC'ing the centres white? They already look awesome!
  11. I'm pretty keen for a kebab or something soon, sick of going to MCM/HWY meets..
  12. Nice GT-R. I didn't see an alarm or immobiliser listed. It's gonna get stolen unless you get one. Good luck!
  13. Just got back from it lol
  14. Has anyone seen the Need for Speed movie yet? Thoughts? I would've expected a Coburg drive-ins meet, but no one seems to be keen
  15. Narrrr
  16. Trent mentioned how impressed he was with the boost curve, it locks on to 19psi and holds it well all the way through. That's with a basic TurboTech MBC too. Racked up about 80km tonight around Melbourne - gotta say I'm pretty over the moon with how this car performs now. I'm keen to go soon and find out! I found it pretty fun porting mine. I just laid the OEM Nissan gasket on and traced with sharpie what needed cleaning up. Make sure you get a nice smooth transition and don't penetrate into the welds and you'll be all good.
  17. Now with 270rwkw
  18. Car was tuned today! I bought a blown R34 OP6 turbo off eBay specifically for Stao to do a highflow on. I chose the larger turbine mainly for the extra ~30kw it produces over the 21U housing. It is 500rpm laggier than the standard R33 highflow, according to Stao. Firstly, installation was pretty straightforward. Both coolant lines had to be tweaked slightly to suit the new CHRA, but the oil feed and return were both direct bolt-ons. Obviously intake and dump pipes are exactly the same as standard. Basic Specs: 1996 R33 S2 Unopened engine, 104,000km. New timing belt, water pump. HyperGear OP6 highflow. Nismo 555's Z32 AFM R33 GT-R fuel pump with +12v direct re-wire. Scotty's intake pipe, A3 POD filter (for now). JJR Return flow FMIC JJR Dump to Venom Cat to Apexi N1 BP98 Glamour: And the dyno result: Current tune is red, overlaid on the previous tune, which was stock turbo, injectors and AFM @ 11psi. Verdict: Car feels a lot less punchy under 3000rpm, which I expected. Turbo comes on song at around 3,800, with full boost of 19psi at 4000rpm. It hits hard and fast, where as before with the stock turbo it would feel quite weak in the upper region of the tach. Very happy with the power, and it is still very driveable around town, just less aggressive down low. Fuel economy TBA Might go e85 later down the track. Big thanks to Stao and Trent for their awesome work
  19. Sounds good. If you can make one which is a factory bolt-on (apart from maybe trimming the breather hardlines), you'd have a winner I reckon.
  20. Gonna chuck a borescope in and check for scoring? Clean out intercooler etc
  21. Would you consider making one with the BOV and breather fittings as well? How does CF cope under the clamping pressure required to avoid vacuum leaks?
  22. Venom 3" 100cpsi here, good quality bolt-on.
  23. For that one millisecond or less.. I am free.
