I am about to order a Jun stage 2 camshaft kit for my RB26. I have the option of type 1 or type 2 valve spring retainers......... what is the difference between the two and does it matter what retainers I have currently? thanks

can anyone tell me if the bolt holes for the engine mounts on the block of the rb26 are the same on the left and right side???? i have measured the left side and found that the holes are spaced 60mm horizontal and 70mm vertical..... i cant measure the right side because of the turbos..... does anyone know if they are the same on both sides??? I am sure they are but i want to make sure.

what about the diagnosis connector in the main harness? should i keep that in, and if i remove the hicas wires for it, will it still work properly?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Im currently building a LC GTR torana for a friend of mine with a RB30DET engine..... The 32 GTR front cut arrived last week and I have been going over the wiring diagrams in the workshop manual, My aim is to cut the wiring loom down to the bare minimum... only keeping the components required for the engine to run...... The way im planning on doing this is to keep the ECCS harness (W-2) in tact, cut off anything i dont need from the Main-Engine Conpartment harness(W-1) and from what I can tell only the diagnostic unit is needed from the Main harness (W-1). Which means nothing is needed from the Body Harness, the E-TS harness (W-3) or the HiCas Harness (W-5).....Does this sound right to any of your electrically minded people out there????? Is there anything im missing that will effect the engine? the (W-) is the code used for each harness in the manual

Ok I have the diagrams, spent some time going over them and my gameplan was cut the wiring loom down to just the ECCS(W3) wiring and the important stuff from the main engine harness (W-1). Does this sound right to any of your elecs out there? and is there anything from the main body harness or HICAS that I need for engine operation?

Yeah I wasnt planning on actually doing it, was just thinking about what was involved and how hard it would be to do -
With a GTR front cut is it possible to make a GTSt 4WD? using the gearbox,front drive shaft, front diff and axles, also the front hubs????? will all the parts need be included in a front cut??? Obviously the gearbox tunnel would be modifided to make room for the trasfer case and you would have to put in the torque spit control in, but in theory its possible, and borderline worthwhile.

Hey guys, My 32 GTR front cut just arrived the other day and while my mates go about pulling the engine out I am going to tackle cutting down the DREADED wiring loom.... I have had a fair bit of experience with looms so that means i get the job.... My question is......... is there anything I should know before I start? any tips, tricks or things to avoid with these GTR looms.... any specail wires or sensors that I need to look out for? and any problems people have had with these looms? Thanks Ohh and does anyone have any HI-RES wiring diagrams? I cant get one good enough to be able to read the colours of the wires

Hi guys, does anyone know if the 300zx and the r33 skyline share the same TPS? from images ive seen and a quick read through a workshop manual for the 300 I think they are..... does anyone know?

Hey fellow sky fans! Anyone know of some good places to get skyline front cuts??? personaly im am looking for a rb26dett cut in the Perth area but while were here why not start a good list of places that have been helpful for other ppl! so if you have had good experience with a company put down as much of there details as you can find......

Is it possible to take the complete running gear and suspension from a R33 GTR and put it into a GTST making it 4WD????? I was having this discussion with a friend and we were unsure!

yeah i assumed it was a switch i just wanted to double check.... the main reason im going for the thermo fan isn't really for power... im making up my intercooler pipe and i wanted to remove the fan so i have more room and it makes the engine bay a tiny bit cleaner..

Sup guys, just a quick question, im installing a 16" thermo fan in my R33 and im just trying to find which temp sender does what..... from my understanding the 2 on the water outlet are for the ECU and the temp gauge, now is the one on the bottom of the radiator a temp switch?????

Hi guys, im currently building a RB30DET and im looking to get around 300+ KW..... will the stock ignition handle this kind of power??? when should it be upgraded?

Do I have to have reciever grooves. I was told i dont! im only running a stnd head gasket for now. i heard that the stnd head gasket starts to fail around 18psi unless you o ring it or put in a metal one. oh and the metal of the wire isnt copper its ally i think.

Hey Yall, I just got my block back from the shop. I had them O ring the block, however I ashumed they would put the wire into the grooves already, to my dismay I recieve my block along with a roll of fence wire (well it looks like). what I want to know is how do you put the wire in properly?... how does it stay there while you stick the head gasket and head on?... and my main concern what do you do with the ends of the wire once in the groove? do they need to be joined or do they just but up together?????? thanx for ya help

Hi guys im building a Rb30Det and i have just got my bottem end parts back from the machine shop... im about to order some ACL race bearings and i was wondering is there any difference between the turbo and non-turbo main bearings... which should i use.

Sup guys Ok now who amongst us has ordered a set of nismo big end bearings and can tell me the best place to get them cheap. around perth would be best.

Nahh didnt get deck height..... i DL some CR calc software and i need piston volume (cc)... how the hell do i work that out , the slugs have the same dome as the stock NA slugs so they ant flat. i might email arias for more detailed specs...

the rb30 turbo stock has CR of 7.8 the NA has 9 the 25 head has a bigger combustion chamber so 25 head and NA pistons = 8.2CR turbo pistons would give you around 7.5 very shithouse

I just got my Arias pistons for my RB30DET build... I asked for a the non-turbo pistons but the dome looks smaller than the stocks has anyone used these slugs??? (part N# DOME/4VR-1) If they are the non-turbo slugs the CR should be around 8.2:1... what is the best way to get it up around 8.5+ shave the head or the deck?... and what head gasket should i use.

Nope R33 and a RX7 i wanna take the rx7 for some laps.... it doesnt like to go straight, spends more time sideways just way to much power to wieght.....
