have you tried tightening it up ?? if that does not work, you may need a new washer, a nice soft(ish) copper washer should do the job
-
mine does the same mate ... just unburnt fuel passing into / through the turbo and igniting in the exhaust ... when you have LOTS of fuel going through, then you get, ahem, nice flameouts ... slightly more than a popping noise tho when this happens .... a friends rx-7 in the uk used to shoot flames on each gear change .. lol

gah seems like the rb25 will just be a bieatch0r .. meh more pain and suffering on the way from the wife in the way of 'spend too much time on the car .. etc' gah /me send to a mechanic
-
looks like a bit of a nail to me ... yes its pretty cheap, but just look at it ! its a class 'been drifted all over the place' kind of car ... just imho anyway
-
hey afaik, they are a straight swap, they are side feed, same as rb25 ... physically they do look the same ... but i guess we'll see when i come to fit them ! will post up results when they are fitted ... cheers
-
you got any tips on getting em out ... once my new ones are clean, gonna have to do this, and it doesn't look like a 2 hour job if you have to take the plenum off ....
-
I bought 8 of the sr20 injectors ... they are shortly to be fully cleaned and flow tested etc ... so yes, will have 2 sr20 side feed injectors for sale ... will post up in the for sale section when they are cleaned etc cheers

tang0 replied to Adz's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi, Sorry not wanting to rain on your parade ... I'm in the market for a new turbo myself, but for $3600 i can get a PAIR of brand new 2530's for gtr, or a single for for $2300 for gts-t ... so what is your realistic price ?? and i could well be interested. .. cheers -
Donation Sale: clearance skyline parts!
tang0 replied to R33 perfecto's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Is that a z32 afm in there ??> if so, and its a decent price, i'll take one ! cheers -
its pointless statement really .. i have a high flow dump pipe, and its exactly teh same bolt pattern as the standard dump pipe, so high flow dump, or standard it makes no difference .. it;ll bolt straight on .... no meaning to flame here, but just pointing out they are the same .. personally i'm going down the router of a GCG high flow. ... as soon as I have time to get over there and pick one up that is ...
-
nice one !! agreed ... not a big hp pump, but then again, its not part of my plan for BIG hp ... i want to keep a set of boots for a few months at a time cheers
-
my aim is for an every day driver friendly (ish) 250kw, so it suits my needs well ...

can hear a VERY slight hum on idle, only with the stereo off tho, rest of the time cannot hear it at all !
-
EXCELLENT !! Just called them, the guy i spoke to, Steve, was really helpful, knew exactly what i needed ! they had 2 types available: a SARD anodised one ($38.50) or they own version for $27.50. Also ordered the brass fittments etc that i need to make it all just work ! all up cost was $43.45 inv gst and shipping from melb to syd - a bargain i say ! Only bad thing is they don't take eftpos / credit cards over the phone due to them being stung by fraud, but a simple bank xfer is the go, they also offered COD. so thanks for the info blind_elk !

um, yeah, twas an ebay jobbie ... $199 inc shipping http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=2493214287 He seems to have a lot of them going .... the pic on that auction is exactly what you get expect for the r33 S2 GTS-T installation you do NOT need : the fuel pipe the sock filter the clamps re use the standard ones, and it like a stock pump ! just flows more ! cheers
-
i see what you are saying, i just have worries about it leaning out on one, and doing something horrible ... I know that its only at idle, and shouldnt cause a problem ... i just like to be safe, rather than 3k out of pocket ...
-
yeah, taking my time over it took about 1.5 hours ... not bad i guess .. now my hands will just take a few days to stop smelling of petrol ! lol no matter how much i wash em, can't get the smell out ... should add that to the guide use surgical gloves

ahh ok, i did wonder why there seemed to be 2 regulators ... I have the blocking thingy, so i guess just T off the regulator on the fuel rail for manifold pressure ??? if i remember right, there was only an in and out pipe on the reg on the strut tower ... cheers
-
Ok, as part of the next upgrade, will be installing a malpassi fuel reg ... question - anyone know if you can get a replacement thingy that goes where the stock fuel reg is, then presents a nipple to plug a nice fuel hose on, and into the malpassi ?? Anyone here installed one before ? got any tips on installing? cheers oh, and installing new injectors looks like a REAL pain in the arrrrse .. anyone know a quick way to install em ? cheers

Installed a 255 lph walbro fuel pump this evening .. while i dont have pics of doing this, have a few pointers for anyone else doing this mod ... 0. take off the battery negative and bend the earth strap back ! If possible have a fire extinguisher near by - general rule is no closer than 5 meters, and pref behind an object, upwind. (watch as my SES training comes in handy) 1. get a walbro pump ! the fitting is almost identical to the stock item. The pump i got from ebay came with all the necessary bits, and fits directly into the stock location, no modification at all ! even the sock filter from the stock item fits the new pump ! great ! 2. use a thin ish peice of hardwood and hammer to get the black ring off ... its on pretty tight, and needs a fair knocking to break the seal. 3. when you take off the hoses from the white cap, the output line (to the engine) is under pressure - either leave it attached and just bend the pipe back, or when you take it off, immed direct the pipe back into the fuel tank ... 4. The new pump is thiner than the old one, so i just put a couple of zip ties around the pump and the mounting bracket for peice of mind. 5. make sure that your electrical connections are nice and secure, you have to cut and join 2 wires, just keep a note of which is which - you get some connectors with the pump. 6. IF you spilled any fuel anywhere. either make sure you wipe it all off, or hose down .... 7. when you are done, just turn on the ignition, dont start, let the pump re-pressurise the system first, takes about 5-8 seconds, then start ... all should be good ! Can't say i have noticed a difference in performance, this is just getting everything ready for the GCG high flow, injectors, fuel reg, afm, and PFC !! rar Cheers

it was not brand new ... hense me asking for one ...
-
could also be a leak post turbo inlet ... i had a clamp come lose once on my mr3 tubby, and made a noise like a baloon being annoyingly squealed .. check all your clamps and hoses ... this prolly the cheap and quick options cheers
