  2. ahh, it does !!! thanks for that ... these ones i got do look similar to the middle ones ... now to get them cleaned and flowtested ! cheers
  3. just don't want to take that chance at the moment, it seems that a rule of thumb is .75 for a stock turbo ... as with everything there are exceptions to rules, but just dont want to take that expensive chance, yet ...
  4. Hi I just ordered one of the malpassi's, any tips on fitting it ? a pic or two would be great ! thanks
  5. Hi I bought these injectors thinking they were sidefeed for my rb25 upon getting them, the feed appears to be from the top ... am confused now ... they were from an S14 ... anyone shed any light ? cheers
  6. would prefer not to kill the stock turbo until i have another one sitting on the shelf waiting to be installed .....
  7. www.justjap.com have them ... always v helpful, and the guys there really do know their stuff ! give em a call and talk to Daren. Cheers
  8. stock turbo, stock actuator, HKS EVC IV, and i get .75 bar from about 2800 / 3000 rpm ish, until redline ... this bring me to conclude that its all in the wastegate control ... yes, the actuator plays a big part in this, but it also need to be told WHAT to do, this is where the EVC comes in and seems to do a GREAT job at it ...
  9. OK, not sure if this should be here, or in the DIY section, i'm sure a nice admin person can move it if necessary. Anyway, installed an FMIC today, and thought people may like to know how things went .. First up, Thanks to Rev Speed who sold me his HKS IC from his sadly dead R33 ... Second up, from start to finish (not including running out to grab some stuff) took me (on my own) about 11 - 12 hours ... I'm no stranger to a spanner .. i'm sure this helped ... anyway, onto the install ... parts i had / tools / etc 1 x fmic (quite important) A full piping kit, however, i did need to replace some of the hoses, and clamps .. The kit i had, as in pic 1, has a port for a HKS BOV - I chose not to install this at this time, but will do later on, I just have it blanked off at the moment. tools, a grinder, drill, jigsaw, holesaw (3") - 8mm, 10mm, 12mm sockets, socket extentions, screwdrivers etc, just your regular toolkit. I really do have to say that a grinder makes things REALLY easy, the front bar needs LOTS of trimming, and a grinder makes SUCJ easy work of it. Its worth buying a decent holesaw as well, these $15 multi size holesaws from bunnings are a total waste of time, its worth buying decent tools for the job ! As in pic 2, I had to make up a couple of support bars for the IC, this was just mild steel, bent to mount up to the holes. The IC is totally solid in these mounts, doesn't budge at all ! The 'over the fan' return pipe is pretty large, and catches on the bonnet a little, not sure if this is cause my 'through the wall' hole is a bit too high ... possibly .. I also has to do a few repairs to this IC as it had a couple of pinholes in it from its 'accident' While not major, they would cause a leak, so a blow torch, and some aluminium brazing / soldering rods make light work of thin IC material. If you have to do this at any time, the only advise i can give is 'go slow' use a small ish flame (blue triangle about 40mm to the tip) and apply the soldering rod nice and slowly.. After it was installed popped out for a coffee with Zeb (also SAU) and found that the return pipe was knocking on the metal work when going over sharp bumps, cured this by getting some 6.4mm fuel pipe, cutting it down the middle, and lining the inside of the hole with it, this makes the pipe a nice and snug fit, and no metal on metal knocking action. conclusion : easy enough for days work if you have all the tools you need, and the correct parts in the kit, be prepared to HAX away at your front bar ! Take your time over doing it, don't rush 'just so it works' now to some pics Pic1 Pic2 Pic3 Pic4 Pic5 Pic6 Pic7 Pic8 Pic9 sorry if they are a little slow, hosting these pics on a server in the UK. Please do feel free to PM me if you have any questions about this. Cheers
  10. Hi Due to me upgrading to a PDC, I have one of these for sale ... obviously its used, but is in excellent condition .. Came off my R33 GTS-T S2, and worked like an absolute dream !!! looking for $270 inc shipping ... Sorry to hijack this thread, but it really is worth owning one of these ... Please PM me if you're interested
  11. its REALLY easy to wire this up ... i ran the cable down the inside of the wing, through the hole in the A post next to the door hinge, then under the dash to the steering column. in terms of plumbing it up, its all pretty easy to plumb ... only that the hks instructions ask for a pre intercooler input, but on standard r33 gts-t there is not a standard nipple for pre intercooler, you have to use post intercooler ... this seems ok ish, but i worry sometimes as the turbo is working harder at achieve the desired boost levels being measured post intercooler rather than pre ... seems ok tho, and am still running std turbo at 0.75 bar ok ..
  12. Thanks, I'm taking them both .. sorry guys
  13. ok, sweet, sold !! pming now
  14. As the title says, about 2 years old, only used for 8 months. Excellent condition. Free shipping in AU $200 for the pair or offers pics upon request
  15. My wife used to have a gti-r when we lived in the uk .. trust cat back 3" hks pod 1bar of boost and DAMN the thing was quick ... and VERY loud ... anyway, seat of the pants feel was that it was more spritely than my r33, but you are right, it lacks high end torque, it would burn off pretty much anything that tried .. there are not many skylines on the uk roads, so never came up against one at the lights .. she would get challenged at lights a lot by rice burners, and she always used to say how they would 'eat it' the grip was great, having the atessa 4wd it just kept gripping and gripping ! unless you were in the wet, then 4 wheel spins in 1st 2nd 3rd all in all i would deffo buy one again if i had to .. deffinatly a pocket rocket to consider .... the only real bad point is that it drank more fuel than my r33 does !!! V thirsty beast.
  16. Just have ordered some 444cc injectors and a 255 lph fuel pump ... question is do i also need a fuel pressure regulator ?? i guess that my aims in the end are for around the 240 - 280 rwkw fmic and pfc will be installed at teh same time as the inj and pump ... any thoughts on this would be great thanks
  17. for anyone interested ... I know its in teh US, but ... http://srownersclub.com/index.asp specifically interesting are the fairly (ish) cheap injectors ... sr20's using side feed high impedence - same as the rb25 ! cheers
  18. thats right, the ignition wire is a 'trigger' signal to a built in solid state relay in the stereo ... at least most new stereos are like this .... obviously you might get some that are not ....
  19. Anyone got one of the walbro 255 LPH fuel pumps ... seem to be selling quite cheaply on ebay ($190) how easy are they to fit ? any reliability issues ? cheers
  20. so apart from the inlet side, what is the difference between gtr and gts-t type 2530 ? just the gtr type one i saw is fairly cheap ... cheers
  21. indeed it does ... thanks once again SK If it is the gtr type, i assume there are companies that make adapter plates ? thanks
  22. All Am thinking of purchasing a hks 2530, and just have a few questions about fitting it ... its going on to my S2 GTS-T, already have 3" downpipe to suit standard turbo .. question is how easily does it fit ? what extra parts do i need ? I know that water and oil lines will need extending ... but is this as simple as purchasing longer pipes ? is the exhaust housing the same stud pattern ? what about where the manifold bolt up ? will i need to get a T25 - T3 adapter ? anyone done this swap got any hints or tips ??? cheers barry
  23. ok, cool, thanks for the advice guys
  24. YAYAY my PFC from Nengun FINALLY arrived !!!! only waited a month for it ... seems like there are serious supply issues with them ... anyway, question is this do i slap the pfc in now and run on standard maps ... I have an FMIC arriving shortly so will be a couple of weeks until i can get it in for a pfc tune ... not that i can install it at the moment anyway as i dont get the car back for another couple of days from the body shop ... thoughts anyone ?
  25. my ebay thing is at : http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...me=STRK:MESE:IT bid away or will do a buy it now on here for $340 with $10 donated to SAU !! its a street level gps mapping system for your pda, cost over $400 is the latest version, you tell it where you want to go, it tells you to 'turn right 200 metres' etc and also gives warnings (verbal and visual) of speed cameras and red light cameras as you approach them !!! quite handy used it with my ipaq 3850 with no probs at all !!
