nope, standard afm ... one of the things i was thinking about was upgrading the afm, and spoke to a number of people about it, the upshot was that the kind of power fingures i was looking for , mid 200's, its just not needed if you use a pfc, as you can program the pfc past 5.1v limit from the afm and work from engine revs and boost pressure ... plus they its getting more and more hard to find for a resonable price ... cheers

ok, 7" screen arrived today, so can start on the actual pod building, all the design work is done in theory, but i always like to have the actual unit to handto make sure everything will fit.... struggling for time tho at the moment, and the mother unit arrives from the uk in a week so not sure how much i'll get done, but its deffo a work in progress !

buy a datalogit, lock the hand controller, and show them that you are unable to change any parameters and that the h/c is just a display unit.... obviously remove the datalogit for everyday driving
-
any got, or got a link to, a pfc manual for skylines in english, specifically i am after the h/c manual .. I have it for rx-7 but just wanted one for a skyline, no idea if anything is diffrent .. cheers

yeah, usually take off approx 60kw for tranny and electrics loss between engine and rw

is this all the same for nsw ? or is it restricted to per state .... should we worry about ANY mods being picked up on by the epa .. wouldnt then all those ricers with hyundai excels and 4" exhausts get kicked off the roads all the time ? being somewhat new the country, this is all of great interest to me ...

All, Well, just had the phone call from my tuner, and have the following results 550cc injectors installed, pfc installed and tuned. 240rwkw with 13psi of boost and running 11-1 a/f ratios boost was between 13.3 and 12.9 all the way to redline a/f curve was as flat as can be needless to say i'm REALLY pleased with the results !!!!!! will post up dyno charts when i pickup the car tomorrow ... mods are : S2 RB25DET gcg highflow turbo 3" turbo back (standard cat) hks EVC IV boost control HKS pod in home made cold air partition ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...1&postcount=164 ) usual 600mm core FMIC and over the top piping standard BOV 550cc Injectors (see www.deatschwerks.com for cheap injectors) PFC + H/C 500hp walbro fuel pump standard internals The tuning guy i used really does know his way around a pfc, and obviously can tune to the full potential ... he is a private contractor who does a lot of work for drag and race teams ... He is happy for anyone to call him and make an appointment, just pm me and i'll pm you his phone number, he rents dyno time from a garage in Mt.Druitt Cheers
-
only prb i would immed see is that no one here would know much abot how to tune it ... unlike the pfc of which there are a lot of tuners for ... if you are competent on tuning it yourself, then no probs i guess ...
-
i have NO idea on the flow pattern etc - i can only tell you that my mechanic fitted them yesterday, and they slotted into the RB25 head with ZERO problems. They were a direct replacement ! pfc was installed and tuned at the same time, but is not fully finished yet, currently making 212rwkw on a dyno that reads TRUE kw, not a rosy looking kw figure, aparently ... anyway, should be getting the car back either tonight or tomorrow and will have more info then. the tuner seemed quite happy that the injectors were doing the job they needed to do perfectly well ... cheers

i had this problem too, its aparently a common problem on the r33's the motor that opens / closes the valve for hot / cold air is weak, and breaks after a few years operation, my car was doing it when i bought it so it was replaced under warantee, luckily, as the entire dash has to be removed to change it, well entire dash if its has a passenger airbag .. at least this is what justjap in kirawee told me .. the new motor itself is not expensive, just the time to do the work .. i remember seeing an article on howto remove the dashboard of an r33 - not sure if it was on this site - do a search, it was a red r33 cheers

give gcg turbos a call in sydney, they'll be able to at least rebuild at a minimum, or provide you with whatever you need in the way of upgrades etc
-
as r31nismo says - it all depends on if you are getting a direct swap turbo, if deffo are, then do it now, if you are not sure, then wait .... i did mine b4 i got a turbo, but had already decided on getting a gcg high flow unit, so no big deal ... could deffo notice faster spool up, and the run off would just go on for ages ..
-
its the same on the rb25 as well, not sure about rb20, but lots of boost and injectors reaching their max duty will cause #6 to lean out first, get hot, and melt .. ways to fix - get your injectors flow tested (and cleaned) and put the highest flowing in #6 i just bought some new injectors for my rb25, billed as 550cc, when i got them the flow test report shows one of them flowing upto 576cc this one will go into #6 ! i've thought about various methods of providing extra cooling to the side of the block as well via ducted air from the front of the car, cant hurt .. just my 2c
-
nice looking - how much rattle do you get from the back end ... ? also, one suggestion, move the tv to the top of the din slots, the aircon controls to the middle, then you dont have to close the screen to alter the temp ... just my 2c
-
i got a friend with a WRX who managed to roll it on a straight road ... pulled in front of someone, fishtailed, hit a large curb going sideways and fliped onto its roof ... luckily no one was hurt, but he sure drives differently now ! and he bought another wrx and had it fully (sik) modded
-
PURE class - nice one .. LOL
-
what about fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator ??
-
they would also lag like whores as they are designed for 2.0 litre engines, and you are only flowing exhaust from a 1.3 into them .. other than that they should be pretty sweet

its www.cafepress.COM/sau not .com.au cheers

rb25 head mods, injectors and cam gear

not talking for personal experience, but i would not want to aim for much over 220kw some claim upto 270kw from their std injectors ... i just like to be safe -

see my thread regarding cheapish injectors, a set of 6 550cc sidefeeds cost me about 530... shipped from the states, fully cleaned and flow tested, inclusive of flow testing report .. -
difficult to see on that pic, can you see what looks like a valve stem through the small hole to the left of the horn ? if so, then no, it'll vent to atmosphere regardless of plumback ..
-
absolutly, i have nothing confirmed at the moment, its all still in the design stage, i've started the fibreglass mould, after i have that done, and have proved the design, i'll be building an exact replica from softish wood, some kind of pine .. its not going to be a quick job, i want this to look good ...

currently running .9 bar, with these in, and the pfc, well .. who knows, depends on what the dyno guy can get out of the engine ... but i'm not really limited on boost at the moment with eh gcg highflow ... reading up, 1.2bar seems to be the max for std internals, so i guess maybe 1.1bar ... all depends on the dyno and the pfc will post results when i have them !
