Well i've finally got a fricken ride over to Japan with JET... so i'm headin off tommorow quick question, wheres the cheapest electronic store to buy a nice DSLR camera in Tokyo? or would I be better off buying it out of Tokyo? I'll only be in Tokyo for 4 days, then off to Okayama. Also.. does anyone know the law with personal imports? I just wanted to know; what's the longest period that you can be out of Japan without ruining your chances of importing a car under the personal import rules? Was hoping to go to Europe for a nice white xmas ^_^ Cheers in advance for any help! Polski

a lot of smaller euro countries trade US currency because its very common, unlike the AUD which you'll pay a premium for as no one uses AU dollar in europe. so in a sense, you'll be better of using US dollar in those countries, but that case is usually not too comon. not sure about japan thou ? although I doubt its the case, Japan is much more developed and has a big stock/currency exchange.

hmm I think i read something about Japan changing its laws about LHS vehicles. in 2005 , they are making all brand new euro / US imports compulsury RHD . anyone know if this is right ?
