    What you mean you dont want an ilegal car, what about your twincam VL? Are you planning to drop the 3.0L into the R31?
  4. Yeah, the MPH is a bit higher than my VL which had 200rwkw and ran 12.6@112MPH. Ill try and get the timeslip up, my car was car# 600, i cant find the actual 12.9 with 116mph, but here is a 12.9 sec slip and one when i started pulling 116mph.

  6. My R32 when i had the RB20 in ran a few 12.9 @116mph on 225/45/17" street tyres. It only made 188RWKW with a small hi-flow turbo, intercooler, 3" exhaust and ECU, so it CAN be done you just need another 15rwkw or so.

I wouldn't have thought it costs much to do a cheap setup, other than the engine with my RB30det im using Microtech ECU ($1200) RX7 injectors ($300) And Bosch 044 pump ($400), thats under $2000, add $800 for a HI-flow turbo and my engine made 240RWKW, Add another $1000 for a GT35/40 and make Over 300RWKW. IMO that is cheap power, and RB25 wanting to make over 200rwkw is going to need to upgrade this stuff anyway. Its not just the EASY power which is so good about the RB30det, it also the amount of torque the 3.0L makes compared to RB20&RB25. Off boost it make steet driving much easier, On-boost torque is neck-breaking.

  11. I have a 044 and have mounted it IN-TANK using the stock bracket and stock sock filter, it only just fits but it CAN be done.
  12. My RB30det uses a COMPLETELY stock bottom end (280,000+kms) and make just over 300rwkw, has been reliable (apart from 5 smashed gearboxes) for over a year at this power level. So in my opinion they are definately strong, i would like to see an RB25 do the same....
  13. I was wondering how long your box would last, I smashed 5 of the small MF5 gearboxes in under a year, most of them suffered the same 3rd gear problem( smashing the teeth off gear). I would doubt that running your car on the dyno in 4th gear would have done any harm as using 4th or 1:1 is the strongest, the gearbox doesnt have to drive through the layshaftt.
  14. It actually starts boosting at 3000rpm, in forth gear it can make full boost as early as 3600rpm. This is atleast 400rpm earlier than the stock cams with this turbo, and the cams only cost me $600 second hand. The money would be better spent on an ECU if you didnt have one, but once you have and ECU,and all the other basic mods cams are a good option, especially to make the car less laggy, and more streetable.
  15. Im running a High-flow on a RB20, with 260 degree 8.8mm lift cams installed it starts boosting at 3000rpm, and makes 15psi at about 3800rpm. This is alot earlier boost compared to when i had stock cams with the same turbo. Maybe try some cams with bigger lift to get earlier cylinder filling, or play with some cam gears.

  17. my R32 had a slow leak, it was leaking on the pedal side of the master cylinder, fluid started to drip down the clutch pedal.

My Rb30DET in a R32 skyline Stock RB30 bottom end from a VL commodore (300,000+kms) Stock RB25 n/a head, Stock cams with heavier valvesprings Stock exhaust manifold with GT35/40 Stock plenum/inlet manifold 3 inch exhaust FMIC 550 cc injectors and bosch 044 pump Microtech ECU Made 306rwkw on 20 psi with 550nm torque, have since added 260deg cams and made 312rwkw with better midrange power & torque. Power peaks at 5800rpm, then drops of pretty quick, i suspect this is caused by the stock exhaust manifold which i will change soon.

  21. I have a 35/40 with .82 exh on my RB30det, in 4th gear it will start making some boost at around 2600-2800rpm, with full boost (20psi) hitting at around 3200-3400rpm.

  23. Dont know why the one i have has the teeth angled the opposite way, i have a VLturbo(MX7) drive gear hear also the teeth are angled the same way as the RED GTR gear i have.... The RED spedo gear i have works fine in my R33 turbo box, but wont go in the GTS4 box. Will try and get some pics up.
  24. Are you sure the one on picture 2 is a GTR one, cause when i ordered a GTR pinion drive i got a RED gear, and the teeth are angled back the opposite way to my GTS4 gear. I tried to fit the RED GTR gear it in my GTS4 box but it wouldnt go in. Are there 2 different GTR gears?
  25. Also would like to know a solution to this problem, i did the RB30DET conversion into a R32 GTS and could easilly modify the engine mounts as they are steel, but the GTS4 i have has the same Aluminium mounts as a GTR, doesnt look like they can be modded easily or at all.
