Hi All, Just wondering if the R34 Neo RB25DET fuel consumption is similiar to that of the R33 RB25DET? Better or Worse? just wondering if the VVT side of things made any difference? My r33 gtst was getting about 380-400kms tank (no thrashing mainly highway driving). thanks.

Hi, Thanks for your reply... My mate is using the S1 coils with S1 ignitor module. Would i need to be using a S2 AFM? or will the S1 AFM do fine as he is using all S1 wiring, ecu etc. In regards to the CAS, is it as easy as removing the S2 CAS and installing the S1 CAS? does it fit without problems? Any help would be great... going to check all the above, fuel feed, sparks in the next hour.

Ok...update... My mate is still running the S1 ignitor coils back to his S1 ignitor pack...Will this work? So what the car is doing.. when the key is turned over you can hear the car trying to kick over but just cant make the last jump (ie almost almost almost nothing). My mate that installed the block (a friend of mine and a mechanic) has done a rb25/30 conversion with forgies etc to his own skyline and its up and running without a problem. He's puzzled on what could be causing it.. he does think its immobiliser so i assuming he's checked fuel etc... Tomorrow we'll go through checking earthing, loose wiring etc to see if we could find out anything. Lastly, as i mentioned above in my first post, is there different wiring between the S1 and S2 CAS? are you able to put the S1 CAS in the S2 motor? i believe they look different. Once again, more help would be great. thanks again to all.

Okay.... I pretty definite he's got S2 Spitfire ignitor coils and the wiring re-done.. I dont think he has the S2 ECU. I dont think he has the S2 AFM but i'll double check. Lastly when WogsRus says "as long as the S2 block has all the S1 sensors" ... is it as easy as taking it off the S1 block and putting it onto the S2 block? or is their re-wiring to be done? Thanks again... probably cant do much till the weekend so anymore help til then will be great.

Hi All, **i've posted this message in the Forced Induction forum however i think this forum is probably the better bet... A mate has a R33 Series 1 which he has had a Series 2 block installed. However, the car now will not start. The car just doesnt seem to want to kick over. I believe he has a set of Spitfire ignitor coils for Series 2 and he has had the wiring redone on the ignition side so it is compatible with the Series 1 setup. Was this required? would Series 1 ignitor coils in conjunction with the Series 1 ignitor pack work with the Series 2 block? I've also heard that the wiring for the crank angle sensor needs to be re-wired as well.. is this true? Lastly, the only things i can think of that could be causing the problem is that the crank angle sensor is faulty or the immobolizer is kicking in. My mate did have an alarm on his car, however is now not working. So if anyone can help out, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advanced. Regards Steve

Common... R33 Rocker Cover Gasket Leak
Scooby_Steve replied to Gianni's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hi All, Tightened up the screws, degreased the grease on around the rocker cover, and it seems to be OK. cant see any leaks yet although havent driven it much since (probably about 10-15kms). so yeah, try the bolts first. -
Hi All, Its a good chance that i'll need replacement seals however i did go to tighten the bolts and every single one of them needed to be turned 2-3 times each before they went tight. I dont know if this was the cause or whether it was because the washers have worn away, thus reason why i was able to turn the bolts a couple of times before it was tighten.

Will try that too!!

Scooby_Steve replied to Gianni's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Anyone know what the part numbers are? Also, would the washer be important. I cant find a dealer where i live that has the washers in stock. they've got the belts though. -
Hi all, Did a search on google and these came up... it belongs on this site so damn, this site is good. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...ver+gasket+leak Hope this helps

Hi, thanks... So just liquid gasket will do? I just thought that if there were a gasket, i'd just buy one. I looked in the service manual and it says that there is a gasket.. Any more help would be great. thanks

Hi All, Just wondering if someone could clarify what a tapper cover is? Are they the covers that sit next to the valley cover (the cover that covers the coil packs and spark plugs)? The reason why i ask is that it seems to be leaking a bit of oil there and i think i need gaskets/seals. Anyone know where i can buy some? thanks.

FREIGHT F.A.Q AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Scooby_Steve replied to Gary2's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi Guys, My brothers are trying to get up to Cairns a set of 19"rims (with tyres i think), a S15 stock front bar and S15 left and Right guards however we cant even find the guys to send it. The ones that will asks a fortune, more than what the items are worth. The funny thing is my mate got a RbB25DET block sent up from brisbane and it cost them $150. I've gone on to the Airroad direct site and they want $450 for the set of rims alone. I think these guys are the only options however, i just thought someone might be able to point me to some one else. Any help would be great. Thanks
