  1. Nino, I've PM'd you. Steve
  2. Hi, I've done one run with a G-tech and i did a 14.5 at 162kph (as stated by the G-tech)... I didnt have a look at my 60ft time though... There was a little wheel spin but was moving pretty well ie, not sitting in the same spot and spinning... what am i doing wrong? I've bought myself a cheap, must be first model G-techs, to practice on so maybe i can better my times. thanks guys .
  3. Hi, Just wondering at what RPM you guys are launching your cars.. I've got a SII R33 RB25DET with 3" inch turbo back exhaust, FMIC, 12psi boost standard rims and tyres and I dont think i can even run low 14's. I've tried running approx. 1/4 mile (informal) run and only get 14.5's to 14-8's. I launch at 2500 - 3000rpm with very minimal wheelspin. Flat shift etc. I can beat most mildly standard R33 skylines very easily in the area I live in so they must be doing at least mid 15's. So can someone who's got an actual timeslip of their time they've run, with a list of mods (remember this is supposed to be stockish)pm me... Lastly any help on the launching would be good. Thanks. Steve
  4. Hi, Does this come with the plug? Thanks Steve
  5. Hi, thanks for your input... so will I be able to get 250rwkw's???
  6. Hi, I've got a '96 R33 Skyline Series II (RB25DET) and is hoping to achieve 250rwkw's and not planning to go any further. (Cant be the fastest but will like to be among the majority) At the moment i've the mods i have are: 3"inch turbo back exhuast FMIC K&N pod filter I will be getting a Power FC soon. I will do the injectors, fuel pump etc as well. I've been looking foward towards a Trust TD-06 20G with a 10 or 12cm^2 housing but it seems that these turbo's only come with external gates, thus requiring too much work. I've seen a GT30 put on my brother's WRX and it was too much work. So I was l tossing up between a TD-06 20 8cm^2 or a Garrett GT28 (350HP i think) both of which has internal gates, however I am leaning towards a GT28. Just wondering if the GT28 will be bolt on. Also, would this turbo get me into the low-mid 13's? Lastly how would the TD-06 20G 8cm^2 compare to the GT28. Will it be bolt onto the standard manifold? Will it allow me to achieve 250rwkw's and give low-mid 13's? Lastly, what flange does the RB25DET stock manifold have? I've read somewhere it says a T3 but other sites say that it's T25,T2,T28. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Regards Steve
  7. Hi, Is it possible to buy a Trust TD-06SH 20G with a 10 or 12cm^2 exhaust housing with a internal wastegate? If so, anyone know of any places? All the sites i've seen only sell them without gates, thus needing external wastegates. Thanks. Steve
  8. Hi, I've got a 1996 R33 SII GTST sedan and was wondering if my car should have remote central locking? (I've got central locking) On the original key itself (Nissan badged), it has a button which I would assume is for the remote central locking however it has not worked from day one. If it is the case that I do have remote central locking but is just not working, what would it require to get it working again? When the key is inserted and turned, it does feel like there is a motor that drives the locking/helps turn the key. Any ideas would be great. Steve
  9. Hi Guys, I just taped up my coils with electrical PVC tape and that seems to have cleared most of the misfiring ie, runs pretty decently. However, I notice that when I'm crusing in 4th gear and then decide to give it some, the engines sometimes cuts off and then all of sudden goes good. If I were to slow down and then accelerate immediately after this happens, it doesnt cut off anymore.. Could be that I have missed a coil? Any help would be great... and lastly please let us know how that liquid electrical thing goes.. thanks steve
  10. Hi Guys I taped up my ignitor coils yesterday but I'm not too sure on how much of the coil you actually have to tape up. I've only taped up the stem and about 1cm above the stem. Is this adequate? or do I need to tape up the whole unit? Also, by removing and taping up the ignitor coils, should that have affected anything else? It's just that my ABS light is now staying on constant. When I first start the car, the ABS light goes away for 1 sec and then pops up and stays lit. Any ideas on what it could be. Currently I do not have the ornament (piece that has the Nissan 2500 sign on it) covering the ignitor coils but I doubt this should have anything to do with it. Lastly the only thing I can think of is that I did not disconnect the battery when I was taking out the ignitor coils. You guys think by disconnecting the battery, this maybe should reset the ECU? Any help on this would be great, especially the part on the ABS. thanks in advance Steve
  11. Thanks guys.. appreciate all your help.
  12. Hi, WhiteR33, does the standard turbo use water lines? I'm sure they do but I just want confirmation? If so, what did you do to the standard water lines? is it just as simple as blocking them off?
  13. Hi Guys, Thanks so much for your input.. I've just about made my decision on the turbo I'm going to buy.. But one last question.. Does the TD-06 20G require water lines? Just that I remembering reading somewhere that it didnt. any help on that would be great. thanks.
  14. Hi, I just want the car for street and want it to go decently on the drag strip as well. Money should be adequate but I wouldnt mind the less the better. EVL_R33, would you know if the internal gated TD-06 will bolt onto the standard manifold? thanks again guys
  15. Hi Guys, Just going through the posts in the forums about the Trust/Greddy TD-06 series turbos and just have a few little questions as I am planning on getting one. I have a SII R33 Skyline with a 3" turbo back exhaust, FMIC and will be getting a PowerFC soon. From what I've read, these turbo are bolt onto the standard manifold and can have both internal and external wastegates. Am I correct? Also, I read a post in one of the threads that said that the TD-06's were not water cooled thus you would have to have the water lines blocked. If I am correct, is it just as simple and blocking the water lines or is there more to it? Also, for you guys that have one on, what times and power output are you getting from your turbo. Lastly was it as easy as bolt-in? Did any other component in the car have to be replaced as I suspect this turbo would be larger? I want to have as least as possible labour time to reduce costs, thus I sort of directing towards the TD-06 turbos with internal wastegates but if i get enough help I may stray toward the external wastegated ones. Could go GT30 if external wastegate is recommended. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards Steve
  16. Hi, I'm planning on having my timing belt replaced and just have a few little questions. Does anyone know where I can buy the timing belt, tensioner bearing, idler bearings from and roughly what prices? In one on my last posts, one of the guys were kindly enough to provide me with a price and part number for the idler and tensioner bearings but I'm unsure if the local bearing suppliers will be able to cross-reference the part numbers with theirs so any identification of online shops etc that sell these components would be great. I've read somewhere that the N1 Water Pump can be used on a RB25DET. If so, does anyone know where I can buy it from. Also, is there water pumps other than the N1 brand that I can use for my car? Lastly what price range should I be expecting for all components? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you. Steve
  17. Hi, Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on what a Z32 AFM is? I think it's an air flow meter of a 300ZX that is used on skylines when they are pumping out more kw's than what the standard one can handle. Is the Z32 AFM still regarded as a normal air flow meter? or is it a Mass Air Pressure Sensor? For all the guys that have these installed in their cars, would the standard PowerFC do? or do you have to buy the D-Jetro Versions? which brings me to my next question. Just that I'm considering buying a PowerFC (standard) and hopefully going to put a turbo upgrade on later on, I dont want to have to find out and have to buy the D-jetro version later. Any help would be great. tHanks Steve
  18. Hi, thanks for your input.. I'll look at the coils this weekend.
  19. Hi, I have a SII R33 ('96 model) which is giving me this misfiring problem.. Is the coil packs located under the rocker cover? if so, is it easy to remove and access the coils? Any help would be great. Thanks Steve
  20. Hi, I've read the post about the misfiring.... I'd say my car is in the same scenario.. I havent yet looked at the coils but will be doing so. I'm reluctant to say its the ECU because the boost was only changed to 1 psi more than what the mods had given it (ie exhaust gave it 2 psi more to make it run total of 9psi and then i winded it up 1psi to make it 10psi) and that when the problem started happening. Thanks for you input. I'd like to take it to a good mechanic but there arent a great deal of mechanics in the area i live in that would have probably worked on imports.... Lastly, my car is a SII R33 Skyline GTST. Once again thanks again. Steve
  21. Hi, I have tried what you guys have said but still no luck.... It's taken me so long to repsond as I was trying to put a cooler in. I forgot to mention that the jerking happens from about 3000rpm to 7000rpm (roughly when the turbo start to spool) in all gears. Any more help or opinions are much appreciated. Thank you. Steve
