Hey all, Look i'm thinking about buying an RB30 DET complete for my R32 and need some questions answered if possible, so here goes: #If the 25 head has VCT can i put adjustable cam gears on instead and remove the VCT altogether #Will my sensors off the RB20 fit onto the RB30 as i've already got a Power FC and want a straight swap #Do the VCT 25 heads use an igniter like my 20 or is it a coil setup only #Would a Z32 airflow meter be sufficient for a basic tune on an RB30 Also if anyone out there has done this before and knows some of the pitfalls to look out for can you please drop me a line asap, would be greatly appreciated. Guys heres the reply instead of linking back:- "ok, pics will follow when i have time, permanent fix requires: removal of glove box. there you can see the plastic backing of the dashboard. drill a small hole in the middle behind the bubble dont go through the front! and 2 smaller ones at each end of the buble. use some expanding foam to fill the middle hole and continue until it comes out both lttle holes. clamp and leave overnight. superglue doesnt work as the foam backing of the dash absorbs it and goes hard, also liquid nails is too thick to spread inside the hole. caution if you heat it slightly when you put the foam behind as mine started expanding outover until i clamped it lol. mines all mupy now due to the superglue but its now stuck in place with the foam and if i had done that first i would be more than happy lol. will get pics up soon. " I'll be trying this later in the week with before and after photos for everyones inspection

Cheers BAMR33, thats what i thought about the ACC and clamps. Will try adjusting the idle up. Am thinking about bigger injectors and Z32 airflow meter so i'll see my tuner when that comes around. Cheers

Cheers guys 4 the replies. I'm in the process of buying a turbosmart adjustable atmo BOV hoping it might fix the problem. Will try the self learn after i fit the BOV, hopefully its not a major issue. Thanks for the replies guys will look into each of them.

Hi guys, I got my R32 GTST tuned the other day at South Coast Rotary in Warrawong NSW. It spun 260hp at 14psi with fairly safe A/F ratios on a mid 20's day. The mods are as follows: -Standard RB20 internals -HKS 2540 w\standard exhaust manifold -Apexi AP Engineering Power FC w\hand controller -Standard injectors and AFM -K&N air filter w\cold air induction but no heat shield -Bosch 040 pump and Nismo rising rate adjustable FPR -NGK copper plugs w\heat range of 6 -Xtreme H/D cushioned button clutch Really happy with the tune, totally streetable and nice and fuel efficient. Attached is the readout from the final dyno run. All comments welcome

Cheers mate, i did tighten all the cooler pipes about a month ago but its worth checkin. I cleaned the ACC valve about 6 months ago so i should probably check that also. Cheers mate

I've just got my R32 GTST tuned on the weekend and at idle when its warm it "hunts" up and down from 900 rpm to 1100rpm, has anyone else had this issue or is it my tune???? Also does anyone else have AP Engineering Power FC with the optional boost controller hooked up and working. I hooked mine up as per PaulR33's FAQ but when my tuner was tuning it he couldn't get it working and i had to use a manual bleed valve Any help would be great Cheers

Hey guys, well the time has come to change the clutch in my 32 but before i put my spare box in i want to change the front and rear seals for saftey sake. Does anyone know the part numbers or where i can get hold of some??? Any input would be great Cheers

Mate, i read an article in one of the performance mags where they got an R32 GTR and ran a full tank of Optimax and put it on the dyno and it spun up about 250Kw at all 4. They drained the tank and put E10 in but didn't change the amount of fuel and advanced the timing due to the fuel being more stable and got an extra 20Kw at the treads by just changing fuel and timing. If your interested i'll try and find the article. I'm running the E10 in my R32 GST-T with HKS2540, FMIC, 9 pound boost, full 3 inch with dump pipe and i think there onto something coz my car runs better in general revs out smoother and get better economy, I can't wait till i get enough money together to get my Apexi Power FC tuned (still on the shelf in my room). Hopefully i can get the tuner to do a before and after dyno read out with different fuels. Anyway thats my 2c, good luck

Done aswell, hopefully bad trader report 33SOM and nobody every goes near him again. Also cubes is there any way we can find out who they are or if its someone from the forums????
