Power Fc Ap Engineering - Boost Controlling Kit
Drift Freak replied to Drift Freak's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm following you with the setup but my pinout doesn't show a wastegate control pin, should i just get a workshop that tunes the power fc to install the boost kit controller???(Keeping in mind my R32 was originally just a GTS) What do you think paul -
Power Fc Ap Engineering - Boost Controlling Kit
Drift Freak replied to Drift Freak's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey paul, I've got a printout of the pinouts for an RB20 DET and can't work out where they should go???? Are they just power and ground(earth) from the solenoid? Your photos show you've spliced the solenoid into the MAP sensor plug, do you know if the RB20DET is the same? Sorry if the questions seem stupid, still learning -
Hi guys, I received my Power FC AP Engineering computer for my RB20 DET on friday and went straight to the shed to hook it up. Thats all good, it works perfectly with my hand controller showing all the stats. Thats not the prob, I also purchased the optional boost controller kit but I'm having troulble working out where the MAP sensor wire goes (the one with a horizontal and vertical tabs in the connector) sorry guys no pics just yet but hopefully soon. Does this get cut and spliced into the map sensor harness like in paulr33's Power FC FAQ, coz mines only got a 3 pin map sensor connector so i take it i splice the solenoid wires onto the MAP sensor harness??? Any help would be nice guys. Also my car was originally just a GTS so i don't have a factory boost gauge just a aftermarket one with a copper air line any ideas how to hook up the MAP sensor air line??? Cheers guys

Few Q's Befor I Purchase A New Powerfc
Drift Freak replied to Fugi's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi mate I recieved my Power FC from nengun on friday. It cost me $1912 delivered to my door which included a hand controller and nismo rising rate fuel regulator. The only down side was the wait, it took nearly a month because the power FC needed to go to AP Engineering for adjustment and nengun had no shelf stock. But i was totally happy with his service and prompt replys to e-mails (i'm a registered member). I would totally refer him as a good person to deal with and great prices. I installed the computer this morning myself and bang first kick she started so I'm totally stoked. -

Overboosting Stock Computer?
Drift Freak replied to Drift Freak's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Cheers guys, I tried what RB SANDY said and disconnected the blow-off valve, works well by allowing the extra pressure to escape. BHDAVE thanks mate you confirmed what i was thinking, i need to remove the compressor housing and either tap a thread for the nipple or get one braised on. Cheers guys your input is much appreciated -

Hi guys, the other day i put a HKS 2540 on my RB20 R32 and got it going I haven't got the wastegate connected so it boosts of its head When she gets to about 13-14 psi it coughs and splutters bad like its got a boost cut??? my question is does the standard computer have a boost cut or something of the like? God i can't wait till my Power FC turns up And also the new HKS turbo doesn't have a wastegate line fitting on the compressor housing like the standard turbo where should i connect my new wastegate pressure line?? Any help is greatly appreciated

Hey AL, was wondering where you got your Wolf 3D version 4 from and did they tune it????

Cheers guys, invaluable information all round. I can see your theory about the air flow needed Cubes and i like 1st and 2nd. I think a R33 2.5ltr turbo will be the choice, extra power stock oil and water lines can't go wrong i suppose without busting the bank.
-
I'm thinking about upggrading my RB20 with a VG30 turbo high flowed by GCG turbos in sydney. I was wondering if anyone out there has tried this combination and were the oil and water lines compatible or do i need to manufacture new ones. Also what sort of power figures did anyone end up with???

Hi guys i'm trying to find an R32 GTST fuel pump cradle, not the pump itself but the cradle which goes inside the tank and the pump attaches to. I need it complete with fuel gauge sender attached. I'm in Nowra on the NSW south coast but am willing to pay for freight. Cheers

I've got an R33GTS-T pump in my R32 GTS.Has anyone got this setup and does it throw the fuel gauge reading out??? Cos my fuel light comes on with about 4km to go Do i need to shorten the stainless rod on the pump to correct the gauge??
-
Hi Guys, I've got a mate who had an RB30DET in his VL Calais using an RB25DET head (Stock), he told me he used a stock crank(balanced and blueprinted), stock RB30 rods(shotpeened), forged JP pistons with BMW gudgeon pins, an extra cam chain tensioner for the timing chain, a Wolf 3d computer and T04e turbo.Which was good for 300+ conservative horsepower at the wheels. When I asked him about oil pressure and reliability he told me he used a stock RB30 oil pump with reliable oil pressure the whole time he owned it (3 yrs). To back that up he used a Twin plate clutch and VL Turbo greabox (not sure if the box would fit in a skyline though).

If your after performance and adjustability i'd go with the first link no bushes needed just the two bolts through the control arm and castor rod (either side) then a wheel alignment. Or cheaper get the second link arms and replace bushes (good as new but no adjustment). Good luck
