  1. After you finish driving, let it sit for a while first. While you're driving, oil moves around, and it'll go up the stick. let it sit say 15-20minutes. then wipe the stick first, then check. Keep in mind that when you change oil, you will not get out 5 L. There will always be some left. 3.5 is probably a bit little though.
  2. Gday Mik, I half agree with you about the quality. The cheap stuff is crap, I can't remember which stuff, but I was told that some of the jap parts we buy are actually made in China/Taiwan and the Jap name is slapped onto it. Like with everything, there is expensive stuff and cheap stuff. An example would be tyres. Falken make some decent tyres (451), and they also make some absolute rubbish (ziex).
  3. Manwh0re That is a full coincidence. My name is MANWHOR3 - I live in sydney. My friend's name is MANWHORE - he lives in Sydney too. You're name is Manwh0re - you're in sydney. you joined a year before us. hmmm...
  4. The body coloured panel on the 32 will not cover that awful looking ring of clear LEDs.
  5. What is your question? Is there something you want to know? or did you just want to let us know that r33 gtst is slow, and that you want to buy an r32gtr for 19-20k and rebuiild the engine?
  6. That sounds like an interesting idea. I'm running a set of stock coils in my car atm, and they are in very good condition. I run a 1.1mm gap no problems at 10psi. Perhaps if the splitfires are better, you might be able to run a bigger gap. Only one way to find out. Try it.
  7. It's not wd40. I tried wd40, and it did not penetrate that well. It was something else.
  8. I can't remember what the stuff is called, but it's sold in Autobarn. Ask them, they'll know. It's this thing you apply to it to dissolve the rust and lubricate the thread.
  9. Heasemans
  10. Falken grb fk451 IF they are in your price range. If not, go for the nangkang nsII.
  11. Check your hoses while a mate presses down the pedal. While replacing suspensions on a friend's car, I noticed a suspect wet looking hose, and sure enough, it leaked. As said above, check for brake fluid around your master cylinder
  12. Bad luck mate. What were you running before that? stock? was it reshimmed? hopefully now you'll run faster by putting power to both wheels with the 1.5way.
  13. I've seen pictures of this done before in a Jap magazine. As it has been mentioned above, it definitely is ghetto style. The japs didn't seem to have much problem with it. Easy to cut, join etc.
  14. Um, sorry, but i'm pretty certain that they are not. I cannot remember the which specific provision it was, but I believe it was the Road Transport (Vehicle Registration) Regulation 1998 or the Road TRansport (general) Act. A road is considered a public place, and i'm pretty certain that a vehicle must be registered. there is so much uncertain info being passed around e.g. my friend said this, my habib said that, bro said this... look up the legislation.
  15. I keep hearing people being fined for things that they feel are unjustified and wonder whether they can be challenged. I know that cops can be a dickhead, after all, I drive a skyline too. However, in this situation, I believe that your friend's mum was completely in the wrong and has no basis to challenge the police's decision for the following reasons: 1. The car was not registered. Only registered cars can be parked/driven on the road. Why did she break the law in the first place by putting the car on the road? 2. starting the car is consisdered to be driving it. 3. she is lucky that the parking fine was all that she got initially. the policeman could have stuck all that on the window due to the car being unregistered.
  16. I 3rd fk451. I have found the whole ziex range to be very ordiary. Nangkang nsII ultra have better grip in the dry and the wet than the ziex, however, they have very soft sidewalls. fk451 - better grip dry/wet, firmer sidewalls.
  17. Fellars, I have one of these batteries in my 33. Thanks heaps for that wrxhoon. Just to give you an idea of how it runs. I've had it in there for about 6 months. Never leaked. Holds charge for a long time without starting the car. I haven't actually tested how long, but i've left it for 2 weeks, and it still started easily. I've left the headlights on for an hour by accident, and the car still started. I've listened to the radio for 2-3 hours without any problems. This battery would have to be the cheapest, and best value battery you can get for that price. If you want name brand, you can fork out 3-400 for an odyssey or an optima. In regards to mounting in the 33, all I needed to buy was a $5 battery bracket from autobarn - I bought the plastic one. works fine. The metal one didn't fit. The battery terminals are also fine. just take the bolt out from the lead, turn it sideways, and use the bolt that comes with the battery.
  18. not advisable, but I had to do it by myself. Not a pretty sight imagining me standing on the hub, trying to push the strut on at the same time. But if me (74 kg) can do it, you and a mate should be a breeze.
  19. I too am interested in the disadvantages and if this is an issue
  20. As new conditon NISMO Leather Gear Knob. No marks, scratches or blemishes at all. http://www.nismo.com.au/pricelists/pricelist_nismo.htm RRP at UAS is $125.00 Price: $60
  21. thanks for that fellars, that was really helpful. It came with my car, so I didn't get ripped off buying a dead one. Just to confirm, is that 4 mm on each side of each separate plate? or 4 mm combined on both plates?
  22. gday fellars, can someone tell me how much meat each plate on an os giken twin plate normally has? If it has less than 1 mm left, does that mean it's almost burnt out?
  23. OK, I really must vent my anger, if anyone objects to what I am about to post, pm me, and I will alter it, or delete it. My deepest condolences to the 30 year old guy, the girl, and their families, bfs, gfs. Also to the fmaily and closest to the kid. What I am not aware of, is whether the owner of the r34 let his son drive it? or whether his son just took it out for a fang. regardless, the speeds he must have been going were ridiculous. Save that shit for wsid/wakefield/ec, whatever the amount of shit they were giving young people on the 11:30 news was abosolutely ****ed. There was mention of 1. young driver 2. hi powereed cars and all that shit about the curfew, restrictions on drivers etc. I have absolutely no feelings except for anger for that stupid mother****er. I'll tell you fellars a little about myself. I'm currently 19, almost 20. I got my 33gts-t about 6 months ago. I always take it really easy on the street. I have not actually gone to the track yet, but I would like to some time in the future. The gvt gets freaked out by stupid acts like this. let me give an e.g. some little kid gets run over outside a school. now 40 k zones are everywhere. I read their stupid article about the restrictions and curfews. How much of a pain would it be not driving between 10pm and 6 am. and the power restrictions. I DON'T WANNA SELL MY SKYLINE. IT'S A PART OF ME!!!! sorry about the long post fellars, but i'm really pissed off. hope this stupid idea never goes into action.
  24. G day Fellars I've been having crunch problems and I find it really hard to put the gear selector into all gears. I want to basically illiminate all clutch problems. Can one of you kind soles out there that know how to change a clutch come and show me how to change the clutch, as well as check if there are hydrolic/adjustment/alignment issues with the clutch? I'm not sure how long it would take to do this. I'm willing to cover petrol costs and a case of beer or more as required depending on difficulty. I'm just finishing off uni exams this week. Pm me your number and i'll call you. This problem is really shitting me. I'm located on the north shore. Cheers Chris
  25. Hi The tein suspensions (type nr - shoch and spring combo) have a circlip to adjust the height slightly. I was wondering how do i adjust this? That is, do I have to compress the spring first. Then what tool do I use?
