My car got stolen today
bootlegapparel replied to bootlegapparel's topic in General Automotive Discussion
no, today was the first day i got it running, so i hadn't had a chance -
I came to pick up my car from southcoast rotary today, and it was running well, but i went to do some shopping in sydney as i was waiting for some wheels, and that's when it got stolen. It was stolen from Liverpool westfield shopping centre on the top floor today 6th January 2005 at around quarter to 4pm. The drivers passenger side window was smashed and the ignition ripped out, as i found it on the ground. It's rego plates are ARX-73X. It's blaze red, and still has standard steel wheels with snow tyres, has a aftermarket spoiler, and is a series 5 though the front bar looks a little different. Here are some pictures; http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/749151 These are the modifications, if anyone sees any of these parts for sale, please get as much info as you can about the seller and inform me or the police. Twin TD05-16G turbos, Twin HKS airpods, Twin HKS Blow off valves, Trust external wastegate, Knight sports bleed valve, FD/Supra/FC fuel pump 6 Extra injectors, Greddy rebic injector controller, Greddy boost guage, Blitz oil/water/boost/exhaust temps guages, Pivot Turbo timer, Pivot digital rev meter and shift light, Momo wheel, Razo shifter, Twin bride brix adjustable seats, 5 point roll cage, Cusco adjustable suspension/shocks, 3 inch single exhaust, Front mount HKS intercooler, RE-Amemiya Aero mirrors, RE-Amemiya Rear spoiler, Chipped ECU, ecu chipped by spec, Also, it's quite loud and the clutch is very rough, so if you see someone bunny hopping taking off, take a closer look cause it could be this one. I have no idea if i'll ever get it back, but if anyones interested it made 240rwhp on 9psi with 1000lbs of torque today. Pity i didn't get to feel it.   If anyone sees it don't hesitate to call me or the police, here's my numbers; 0417261902 44763566

yeah, i talked to that guy, that was just ****ed, photos of the damage didn't look too bad but you know it would've cost a fortune to fix and the hassle of it when it shouldn't of happened. anyways, my car had 50**** kms, i'm still not sure whether i believe it or not, the wear is minor, and it still has a sticker when the last oil change was done at 35000kms, so... you never know, best bet is like always, thoroughly inspect the car.

Man, some people don't learn
bootlegapparel replied to nmcmahon83's topic in General Automotive Discussion
They're just interested in selling papers and don't care about the news or consequences. Not only do printing front page storys like they were doing(guess they found something better, they go in crazes, p platers, shark attack, sydney to hobart, very late reporting of the tsunami(I work in a newsagents)) to attract the attention of the oldies to say, "oh bad young skyline drivers" but also, to grab people like our attention, get us pissed off, and end up reading the article to see how much they bag you, sucks but it worked on me. -

That's cause that's the SMH, and not the Daily Telegraph -

Well how about that, that's what should be in the news, why don't they ever report the good bits? -
I think the problem with helmets is visability. Then i got to thinking, what about people, say, yr 12s going to their formal in a limo, can't expect them to wear helmets. On this issue, it's fine the way it is. I agree there, i hate people saying that. I don't see a huge issue with this a R33 isn't anything that special, commodores and falcons have the close to the same performance and they've been selling for a long time cheaply. But they do need to teach people to drive, i'd like to see it just for peice of mind. Doesn't matter to me if a R33 hits me or a Excel hits me, i'll still get ****ed up. If you're refering to what i said i'm not condoning "speeding" It's against the current laws so i won't do it, and wouldn't like to see anyone else doing it, but look at for example, victorians insane laws, where 3kms over and you're done, now that's idiotic, but, that's "speeding" so it must be dangerous. It should be a grey area where common sense prevails and it would be a empty threat, of course, 10-15kms over would be done, but small ammounts would be overlooked for more important issues to be tackled, since most of these small ammounts of "speeding" are accidental, my auntie only recently got done for 3kms over by a camera on her drive down for a visit, she has never had a ticket and was so upset that this would happen, it's insane. 'High speed can kill' would be a more accurate thing to say, but it doesn't have that kick does it. Summing up, all i'm saying is that it's getting out of control what the governments are doing, as everyone knows the "speed limits" where posted 10-20 years ago, on horrible roads for not great cars, but they are constantly lowering them. But i don't want people to speed since it's against the law, if people feel it should be raised, tolerances should be brought back like they used to have, then they should campaign to get the laws changed, until such time, just have to stick it out and abide by them, that's the best way to earn a good reputation to have your voice heard.

hahahahaha, yeah, that ad sure is awesome and realistic... Might bring up something i've said before; How do you define "speeding"? Do you go by the governments interpretation of what they deemed safe 20 years ago for all cars? and anything over this is immediately unsafe, because that's what you're saying. I will say i like the RTA they tend to do a pretty good job, cept with some regualtions and fees, but it's the state government that's screwing around.

Double DE-clutching. Different to double clutching. Double De-clutching is down, double clutching is up. Some old cars need it, say morris', haha, and trucks things like that. Cars whose gearbox is sloppy, synchros worn, things like that. Not necessarily all "old" cars, just a characteristic of a few of them.

*have to lift my chin off the floor* Okay, when you shift up a gear, the next gear has LOWER revs than the last! Why people think reving the car before a shift is going to do anything is beyong me. Notice how when you engage the next gear the revs DROP! Double clutching is nothing like that, can't be stuffed explaining it, but the only time you double clutch up is in a old school car which can't shift fast enough, so when you try to shift, the revs drop to idle before you engage the next gear, then is when you rev to make it engage, as some old cars wouldn't engage. Or in a modern car when you stuff up, and the revs drop to idle, you can give it a little blip to make it smooth, but it's not necessary in modern cars. Now, if you have to do that, you must be shifting incredibly slowing.

I'm after some 16x8 or 17x8, or something like that in 5x114 stud pattern. With tyres prefferably. Nothing expensive just some different wheels, offset of 35 to 38 would be nice. I'm not that picky with wheels, what most people would think is crap, i probably like, so if anyone has wheels that fit my description, or even come close i'm not fussy, post up a picture and details please. Thanks. Daniel.

Young drivers face fast car ban
bootlegapparel replied to XtRoN!C's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Very good points. I personally won't be effected since i'm under, although only by like 0.1 but I'm still under on the p/w restrictions they're trying to implement. Even so i'm completely against it. It is simply ridiculous. As for the Daily Telegraph, I work in a newsagents, among other things, and I'll tell you the DT is one of the most crap filled, sensationalist, editorialised pieces of rubbish i've seen. It's all about shocks, scareing you into buying it. -

Where did you pick these up from? Normally the RP02s are 35 offset not 38 -

mmmm, finally an australian new car i want to buy, maybe later when i can afford it. The thing that annoyed me was, Holdens boss was saying how the Australian public would get confused and that FPV and HSV should be V8 only brands. How stupid do they think we are. I think they're just jealous.
