i should think that with such a high top speed thru the traps if you had grip i'm sure a high 12 will be possible. other guys out there have run a string of consistant high 12's with that terminal speed, so you might need better grip - different wheel/tyre combo maybe.

yeah my mate did the same thing, R32 GTS-T rims on a GTR, paid $500 with new tyres.

thanks roy. yeah no wheelspin, and it does happen in any gear. as for my clutch it was working fine for a year and then one night while in 5th gear on a freeway it just revved up. the clutch engages all gears easily so if anyone could tell me how to check my clutch i would greatly appreciate it.

yeah i know, i didn't place too much faith in that claim because it is a mild set up and that does seem VERY unrealistic, especially with an exhaust leak. but thanks for being polite

ooh so many questions. okay, car starts, clutch fine into gear, accelerate fine up to 1500rpm and then it's as if i've clutched in and the pressure of my foot on the gas pedal sends the revs flying. happens through corners and start stop etc. kind of goes away after a good warm up, say 15 mins. after this happened a few times i didn't want to damage the car further so i haven't taken it anywhere yet. Thanks trident.

oh and i forgot to say this car was bought this way, with many unknown mods.

Yes i do understand what you guys mean. i didn't keep the dyno sheet, but i also didn't pay for the session. just wanted some feedback dudes. i'm thinking like 200-250 HP topps, don't know what the dyno guy was on!

thank you ed and waz. these things sound scary to a novice like me and i'm not so sure i know how to acurately check these things. the clutch is probably a year old and feels really grippy and always did before the problem started, it's a heavy duty item. the problem happens all the time now. any ideas how to check gearbox and diff?

Let me jump in here guys. My RB20DET runs a HKS stainless manifold, HKS 2530 with HKS wastegate actuator and small internal 'gate, big fuel pump, big injectors, Apexi front mount, HKS cams and gears, big exhaust, old school AVCR and RSM as well as an Apexi fuel computer. with an exhaust leak i made 291.5kw and 1039Nm. i won't say where but does this sound good to you. boost hits hard on 12psi at roughly 4500rpm. makes for interesting driving. good luck.

Hey Jaff. I had a similar problem on my R32 when my ehaust manifold gasket blew out. the turbo just seemed to take longer time/higher revs to start pumping out decent gas. in case you're curious my car made a horrible noise coming from the manifold on startup, sounded like a tractor? weird. give it go before you shell out big bucks. good luck.

thanks fellas i value your input. i was thinking of replacing the AVCR with a new one but it's $1000 i think? and no my turbo's fine, thanks i checked (lucky!).

thanks guys. yes the car does move while the problem is occuring but feels VERY slow, as if there is NO boost at all. as for clutch slippage there has been no such action, fresh clutch very strong. I was thinking about the boost controller solenoid but i don't know how to fix one if possible. thanks again for your valuable input.

Guys i need some feedback from professionals such as yourselves. My R32 GTS4 is running a HKS 2530. Bigger injectors and fuel pump. Apexi front mount. I've got a super strong clutch. Old style Apexi AVCR. Only running 10psi. The other day i was driving like normal, seriously, and the tachometre needle just jumped over 8 thousand revs as if i had clutched in, but i haden't. I pulled over and checked what i could but there was nothing visibly wrong. i started the car again and it drove fine. it's as if the engine is boosting like a million pounds without fuel. I checked the wastegate actuator line, no problem and all hoses are fine, clutch engages all gears fine, no diff noise, no gearbox noise, just this scary overboosting (imo). If anyone knows what i mean please help a brother out! Peace.
