Nah just the left one because it was noisy. Had corrosion in there because water got past the seal I think its been replaced before at some stage, car has over 400,000ks on it and to me it looks like someone put the wrong seal in! the old one looks like its the one thats meant to be on the back that seal on the cv joint on a AWD model. ( mines 2wd )
Yeah the washer is on there. Its just there to prevent he drive flange coming out and to stop it turning inside the bearing. Temped just to drive on it and see how it goes. Im thinking its the seal is squashed up against the bearing too hard ( for whatever reason, idk ). I dont want to pull it apart again as that can damage the bearing races because there is no way to disassemble it without pressing on them.
Kinda screwed either way really. I know it will loosen up over time but i would likely damage the bearing and I would be $120 out of pocket. And if its the seal causing the issue the seal would get damaged from rubbing, water and dirt would get in and again, damage the bearing.
Might have to play it by ear a guess.
