  1. I resisted the urge to go cannon and went for a twin outlet (squared tips) Zetti exhaust when I did the upgrade about 18 months ago. I also went the Coby Extractor route, and upgraded to stainless hi-flow cat while I was at it. I even sent the extractors & exhaust to Brissy to be HPC coated just for good measure... Now it all sounds VERY loud, particularly inside for passengers. I'm putting the noise factor down to the extractors more than the exhaust, but either way it's damn loud! From what I've heard and experienced, the raspy noise never seems to leave N/As... you can only make the exhaust louder to drown out the annoying rasp when accelerating. Believe me I've tried everything I can think of to get rid of it with my car.
  2. Kit looks pretty good - I have just bought my R34 GTT, and while it's currently getting complied I'm looking for the right kit to put on it before the import yard organises the respray job for me... Impul certainly appears to be the front-runner at the moment. Can I ask where you sourced it from, and how much?
  3. Crap! Just bought my R34 with stock kit and have just decided that I will probably go Impul for the front bar... missed it by that much!
  4. I bought my S1 R33 (Nov '93) from Motorman 3 years ago (through Derek) - I know it wasn't the cheapest I could get one for, but it was my first Skyline and I was looking for someone to steer me in the right direction, and for $14,000 on road, complied, registered, I was happy - particularly with the service! Derek went out of his way to find me a car with ALL of my requested specs, sent me options with auction sheets prior purchasing, and he even bought the car with no obligation from me to buy it! After compliance, he even sent me over to a Springwood exhaust shop and put an aftermarket exhaust on it for me - no charge. I've had NOTHING go wrong with my (older model) R33 to this date (touch wood!). I am now in the market for an R34 GTT, and have had no hesitation in going back to Motorman - they will take back the R33 as a trade for a very reasonable price too. I'd be interested in hearing what dodgy things they're doing Markimak - PM me please. (it also seems strange that your gf's family would go back to them many times if all of their purchases were junk)
  5. I think it was a dark blue or greeny colour - can't be too sure tho, as I was just coming off the roundabout (just before the bike shop) at speed... It definitely had plates similar to LXUSS though, and had some decent sized chromies - that's why I thought it was you.
  6. Your car has now been resprayed has it not? I'm sure I drove past it on Caloundra Rd on Monday (parked outside bike shop)... I thought it looked in pretty good shape when I glimpsed it...

    Ie 7 Help

Have you tried holding CTRL or CTRL+ALT when clicking the link? If it's actually opening a new tab then this shouldn't be your problem, but try it anyway I guess...
  8. No, some other Ian with a GTS-t would already have that!
  9. Spotted 955-IVC (?) in carpark near Citi Bar/Restaurant at Alexandra Headlands... looked like Dynamix if my memory serves me correctly.
  10. Last call - I'll be having this car picked up and taken to the wreckers on Wednesday (8/11) if no one wants it. I'm moving house this week and the car can't come with me, so let me know if you're interested in saving this poor old Celica from death!
  11. Glad I could help!
  12. Ska, your shat is freaky!
  13. No problem - take your time!
  14. Sent you a PM a couple of days ago Jason... just let me know if you're still interested.
  15. No problem Sambo - let me know when you're ready to go and we'll sort something out. I know how excited you get when you first receive your new toy! Be prepared for lotsa money being poured into it though! Where abouts on the coast are ya?
  16. Thanks Isaac and Jason. Mine doesn't have airbag(s) - I think that started with '96 R33s???
  17. OK - newbie questions coming up: I'm thinking of upgrading from the standard steering wheel for my '93 R33 GTS, but I have no idea whether there is anything I should be looking out for in particular - is there anything that I need to make sure the new wheel has? Will I need anything additional to the wheel? Where would be the best place to take it to get fitted (preferably on the Sunny Coast), or is it fairly straight forward to do it yourself? I've seen a few steering wheels on ebay, but I'm a bit worried they might be dodgy or just cheap crap - what's the major difference between cheap steering wheels (<$100) and the more expensive Momo or Sparco wheels (> $300)? What are boss kits, and will I need one if I upgrade?? And finally, does this look like a crap steering wheel? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-NISSAN-NISMO-T1...1QQcmdZViewItem Thanks!!!
  18. It's got a MASSIVE 2L engine!!
  19. It ran extremely well for a '80 model car until about mid-year last year, then it started stalling at lights. I had a compression test done, and it showed that one of the cylinders was running extremely low. Other than that, the gearbox was fine (it is an auto by the way), electrically it was fine, the interior was almost perfect, and it only had minor rust. It now has about 7 months more rust, but that's about it. I did actually get my hands on another '80 Celica with the intention of doing an engine swap (which is all that it needed), but I subsequently found out that the second Celica had been used for paddock-bashing in it's later years, and the results of a compression test on that car weren't that much better, so I got rid of the other car.
  20. Looking at getting rid of my first car, this 1980 Toyota Celica - it seems a shame to just have the thing picked up and taken away for scrap metal, so does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do with this car (I don't really want to spend money on advertising it for sale if I'm just gonna make $50 on it). I'd like to get something for it, but I'm more interested in it going to a good home and being fixed up if it is worth it (it's down a cylinder and has some minor rust after sitting on the side of my house, neglected, since the end of last year). It does have a fuel catalyst, so it can run on unleaded or premium (preferably the latter). Is anyone interested in taking this off my hands? (located on the Sunshine Coast) (Mods feel free to move this thread if you feel it should be elsewhere - I was using this thread in an attempt to get suggestions, not really for the purposes of selling it.)
  21. Where along Nicklin Way did you lose it into a ditch?
  22. K... thanks to most of you for the advice. Just thought I'd check before wasting my time going all the way to Brissy... Oh, and to those suggesting a turbo - WOW!! Why didn't I think of that?!!
  23. Just after some advice, as I've been getting conflicting information... I have a N/A R33 RB25DE (S1 I'm pretty sure - Nov'93) - so far (other than aesthetics) I've done the K&N panel filter, extractors and full 2.5" exhaust, but the cat converter stayed (apparently it was fine) and I haven't put a resonator on it as yet. I've been told the next thing I need to do is the spark plugs and getting it tuned, but others have told me that with a N/A, it's pointless/unable to be tuned cause it's a N/A with a stock computer. Is this true? What should I do next? I know with a N/A I'm limited with what I can do, and that perfomance gains are going to be small, but what are your suggestions? Another suggestion is getting the cams done - what sort of improvement will this make, and what sort of price would I be looking at (if it's worthwhile getting this done, where in SE QLD would you recommend)? Thanks in advance!

  25. Yeah thanks to the organisers - I had a good day... it was nice to take the 'line out (I've been working from home since March, so I haven't driven it that much lately). I was gonna follow the Sunny Coasters back via Beerwah/Peachester, but thought I'd better get home a bit earlier and get stuck into the work I was supposed to be doing today... but instead I'm on here!!
