MrBlonde replied to MrBlonde's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Shane, the private test and tune day will be on a fully prepped track, just the same as for Top Fuellers. Are you interested? Would be good to see you there. -

Private Test And Tune Day At Wsid: 10.999 Or Quicker.
MrBlonde replied to MrBlonde's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I discussed the options for a private test and tune track hire with John Henman at WSID recently. He mentioned the 12 cars @ $375 arrangement. John stated that currently this is on offer for a Wednesday day. I have asked him to clarify whether or not this can be offered for a weekend day which would suit most people a little more. He is taking this to the WSID board for a decision. There is no date yet. Once I have 12 firm starters I can solidify the arrangements. -

Both street meets and test and tunes are under ANDRA rules. If your car runs quicker than 11.000 then you need a rollbar. -

Point of clarification: it is my undertanding that only ANDRA competition cars can take part in a test and tune. If you don't have an ANDRA licence and vehicle log book then this sort of event is not for you, instead you'd be better served by a private track day. -
For those out there who cannot take part in a private track hire because your street or competition car is 10.99 or quicker, perhaps you might want to join in on a private test and tune day. This is the same as a private track day but is limited to 12 vehicles at $375. The track is fully prepped and there are no ET limits. Please let me know here if you are interested.

Compak Attak This Sunday 21st May
MrBlonde replied to NXTIME's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Yeah, good point. I would say that at a minimum new racers should go to as many group one events as possible and watch carefully how the pros do it. If the starter motions them forward for dilly dallying and DQs those guys for taking too long to stage, then it should be obvious what's going to happen at a pissant SC event. Another good point. But have you ever sat in full stage at launch RPMs waiting for the other competitor to get good and ready? How often do you like to replace your turbo? How does you rvalvetrain like that two step after 20 seconds? And what does that EGT do for your performance? -

Fantastic ET and trap for Theo, well done. Sport Compact racers in general have f**k all racecraft. In fact it's embarassing sometimes to see how clueless we are sometimes in doing simple things like a burnout and staging. The starter is not going to make allowances for anyone .. he's going to activate the tree on anyone who takes too long to stage. You'll see in in group one races. And finally, if Adrian had a crew member helping him stage a street car then I will laugh at him very loudly. -
Ahhh .. music to my ears! Bleeer Free Zone here!

Tyre Pressuses For Street Tyres
MrBlonde replied to abcent's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
My recommendation woudl be to stick with the manufacturer's specs for a 17" low profile tyre. There's no sidewall there to play with. Regarding burnout, just a quick hit to clean off debris and water .. less than 2 seconds. -
It's totally addictive, glad to read about people having fun at WSID (or wherever).

It looks to be made of silicone .. which means it can be cleaned in your family dishwasher after use.

Heathcote is not an ANDRA sanctioned track so you are probably ungoverned on tmixing radials and cross plys. But I've never raced at Heathcote .. anyone who has care to comment? The ANDRA ruling is that you can mix radials on the front and crossply on the rear until you run quicker than 12.50. But you really don't want to run radials and crossplies. Try it and you'll find out why in the top end.

Cool, good to see you had a good time. Hint for beginner: not good to say your clutch was slipping. -
It's hard work getting sponsorship. I don't blame Theo for his approach and look at his awesome numbers! Go Theo!

Whats A Fast Half Track Time And Mph?
MrBlonde replied to ido09s's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
IDO11s, In a late model IRS car I'd say you'd be pulling 110 MPH at half track to run a low ten second pass. 660' time would be 6.6-6.7s? -

Who is this Andrew Hodgson guy? And what is he doing racing your car? -
Brett, me too, it's giving me the f**king shits.
-
Nope.
-
I wouldn't recommend that approach. ET is king.

Fantastic trap speed. The ET is the place to focus now
