Wanted R34 Manual Coupe Non Turbo
NeilC replied to megaborg's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Interested in a sedan? Or have your heart set on a coupe. Send me a pm if interested. -
Try this it worked for me. If four door lower and then raise rear windows holding the switch on for a couple of seconds after window shuts. Repeat on passenger front window and then on drivers window. If two door coupe just passengers then drivers.

Part number is valid. I googled it before posting although would guess its been superseded a few times. Have blown them out with the compressor and then washed them in warm water and detergent. Have come up ok so will reuse when they dry.

Pulled the pollen filters out of my R34 today. Totally filthy and yuk. Have put system back together without them atm. Anyone know if they are available in Aus? Part Number is 27274 5L500. Is is ok to run without it?My Prado didnt have one fitted either and apparently most Aus spec vehicles around 2000 to 2005 werent fitted with them.

Thanks Brennan. I suspected as much as this only started when the weather warmed up but I didnt tie the two together at the time. Oh well another expense to add to the list.

This misfire started about a week ago. Prevalent at low revs between idle and about two grand. My first thought was plugs so I changed them out for a new set. Car is R34 N/a by the way. After putting everything back together the car ran like a clock. Whilst I had it apart I physically checked the coil packs which look brand new btw. They are green coloured and as far as I am concerned not the original ones. Am concerned because they are only held in by one bolt the second hole on the pack does not line up with the other bolt hole. Is this normal? Also the laminated steel coil the bolt goes through is loose in the coil body as well. Today coming back from Melbourne in the heat it has started to miss again the same as before so am thinking coil pack/s. Am sure genuine packs have a nissan logo and part number on them. The packs for my CA18DE Exa do. Any ideas or thoughts as this just adds weight to my suspicions about things that were changed at compliance. (Headlights changed for a crappy faded set of halogens, child safety anchors not fitted properly and some other little odds and sods) All I will say about the mob that brought this car in to the country and complianced it in March last year is I dont like munching on curry if you get my drift. Oh not to mention the crap tyres they put on it as well. I dont even know if the standard wheels on it now were on it when it landed. Anyway rant over. Advise please.

Thanks fellas. Will check the clutch freeplay as well but it seems to be fine. Pretty sure its the wrong oil. Smells the same as the 80m90 shit you put in the old ford and holden gearboxes and diffs. Stupid flaming Indians.

Car: 2000 R34 25GT N/A Trans: 5 speed manual Problem: Extremely hard to get into gear when cold and very notchy till she is fully warmed up. Car was brought into Aus in March 2013 and complianced and registered in May 2013. Presumed mileage on the paperwork I have was 70,331km. I am second owner in Aus. According to the paperwork I have all fluids were changed. I have checked the level in the gearbox and it it fine. However the oil put in smells like normal 80w 90 MINERAL oil which I know is not correct. I want to change oil but my question is what if any damage may have been done to the gearbox since I have had the car. Problem as I said is only when cold and motor running. Clutch feels good and seems to be releasing properly. Any thoughts appreciated.

Spotted yesterday nice black R34 sedan turning to go into mid valley shops at Morwell. If you are on here I was in the other R34 coming out.

Need the central locking actuator for a R34 4 door sedan front passenger door. 2000 model series II. Actuator is black in colour not white. I believe white is series I and has different plug. Will take complete door lock assembly if I have to.

Thanks all. We ended up not going that way. Sourced an engine out of a wrecked R33 in Sydney. car now back on the road. :-)

A lady friend of mine has an R33 sedan and has blown the engine. She has been offered a complete de Neo out of a wrecked R34. Did a bit of a search but didnt get a definative answer. A couple of questions: 1. Will it fit up to her auto box. 2. Can it be made to run on the R33 ecu etc. or will it need the neo ecu and a rewire. 3. Any other mods needed. Sensible answers please fellas I just need to know what would have to be done if its possible. Engine is in really good nick I am told and she can get it for very low dollars.

@ Ravi those are the standard version of the platinum and iridium plugs. They would be fine except that they dont last as long. Main reason for using the others I reckon is because its such a bitch to change the plugs on a neo engine. Magna V6 engines have platinum plugs on the rear bank for the same reason . You have to dismantle half the engine just to change them.

Hmmm looking through what you have replaced leans me towards fuel being the problem and not overfuelling but rather the opposite. Have you had the fuel pressure itself checked? How much mileage on the car? I would have your fuel pump checked if I were you. Also your O2 sender. Is it using more fuel than before? Also what fuel are you running?
-
BTW the Iriways retail at about 38.00 or so each. They use them in the turbo versions so I guess they cant hurt. I would be checking every vacuum hose on your engine as well. It only takes a small split to upset everything.
-
Shaun. Iriway-7 are NGK racing plugs. Unless you have done a lot of work on your engine I dont for the life of me see why you would need them. Also a 7 is two stages hotter in heat range something I defo wouldnt do if it were me. If your running a stock Neo engine you could try decreasing the gap on your plugs to 0.8mm and see if it makes any difference. Those Iriways wouldnt be cheap either I will bet. Also just read your first thread again and am thinking you are confusing flat spot with a miss. Flat spot is when you accelerate away either from rest or through the gears and the engine dies then takes off. A miss when at a constant speed is as if you momentarily lose power sorta like if someone turned your ignition off then on really quick.
-
Correct NGK plugs for RB25DE Neo N/A are PFR5G-11 Platinum or BKR5EIX-11 Iridium. Putting the wrong plugs in will make things worse. The 5 in both of these plugs is its heat range and shouldn't be changed unless you are running LPG.

Throttle Body? Varnish and sludge build up can cause odd idling problems as well.
-
Thanks fellas. Was thinking same. @ Martin yours could have already been removed before you got the car possibly. @ Andrew yep can see the honeycomb moulding on the outside of the box. Have some assorted silicone bends laying around the shed so will remove and see what happens.
-
On the air intake on my R34 Neo there is a large plastic box attached to the throttle body and then to the filter housing outlet pipe. Am presuming its an air baffle or dampener of some kind. What are the consequences of its removal? Just wanted to tidy up that area cause it looks cluttered and poxy. There is also a small one hanging below the pipe from the air box too. Thought or suggestions please? Neil

Transmission Lubricants
NeilC replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hoping this is right place to ask. R34 25GT freshish into the country. (May this year) Gearbox is a tad notchy and possibly low on oil. Supposedly had a service when it was complianced but doubt that they did gearbox or even checked it. I have a full 4 litres of Nulon Smoothshift 75w90 that I had purchased for ex missus Corolla. Nulon site recommends Smoothshift 75w85 full synthetic. Thoughts comments please before I drain and refill. Am thinking it should be fine but value your collective opinions. Car by the way does not get thrashed or otherwise (its ony n/a after all). Regards Neil -
Nathan that is a standard H1 halogen globe. Repco Bursons Supercheap etc. Dont lose the collar type washer. You need to reuse it. It is an adapter for H1 globes into your headlights which I suspect were originaly HIDs. (Removed for Aus ADR compliance)

Cheap shit chinese head unit. Cant re direct the satnav to anything other than the main screen. Should have left it in the Prado when I sold it. Oh well tough titty.
-
Sorry Chris original screen is gonsky. I have the DVD player, radio and the unit out of the boot. Didnt think any one would want a screen that didnt work. If you know of anyone that wants the other bits let me know as they are of no use to me at all. Free to good home or in the bin they go.
