  1. yes its in my american 240sx (i live in the US) and its LHD. im using the standard ecu with apexi s-afc2 fuel controller piggyback...
  2. I got a turbo kit off ebay for my engine. It has IHI ball bearing turbo RHC6, greddy wastegate adapter, trust wastegate with downpipe, trust compression pipe, and EGT gauge. It took me 2 days to install the turbo kit. It was a pain in the ***. I had to custom make 3 exhaust nuts hand filed by hand to clear. It took about an hour each to transform a 17mm nut into a 14mm nut. Next my friend accidently broke my wastegate nipple. So i had to drill it out and install another nipple for the boost line. BUT OMG IS IT WORTH It...it doesnt spool until about 3800RPM but when it does it hauls ***. I get pulled back hard. I LOVE HOW IT SOUNDS...it sounds much more like a "skyline" its nice...at stock wastegate boost its about 10psi...and it kicks but!!! and thats with the SIDE MOUNT IC...it feels to be about 250WHP.... thats with stock IC and injectors no fuel tuning...i cant wait till i dyno tune...
  3. Ok, my car ran fine for 10months since the swap. It ran fine all day last friday then when i tried starting it, it wouldnt start...so after pulling my brains out for a week, reading manuals, searching the web, ordering parts...i came to this conclusion... my injectors ARENT firing...im getting plenty of fuel pressure and my fuel pump DOES work. IM gettting spark (checked with coil pack out and grounded spark plug against engine block) and also it starts with starter fluid...just injectors arent firing... i have checked all my fuses, relays and wiring its all fine. My throttle position sensor is fine, coil packs fine at .9ohms each, spark plugs perfect and clean, afm working fine, JUST MY DAMN INJECTORS DONT FIRE. I put a 9v battery and wired it into my injector and i can hear a click when i apply voltage, so all my injectors work....it just seems as the ecu is not providing the power because i do not hear the injectors click when i try starting the car. Is my ecu fried?? Thats the only thing i can come in conclusion to....this sux...anything else you guys suggest trying before i try to source an ECU?? Thanks Tony

  5. ok i thought it was no spark...but i AM getting spark...the problem is fuel injectors arent firing...i have fuel pressure and fuel pump turns on but my injectors arent firing....what turns them on?

  7. OK my engine wont start!! Heres the deal. I came home from school it drove fine all day. Took a nap then my buddies came over to check out my car. I tried to start it up but NOTHING...it cranks over fine it just wont fire. Here's some things that I KNOW work.. -Fuel pump turns on -engine starter cranks -battery is fine -coil packs OK tested at .9 ohms each -spark plugs clean and OK -compression tested FINE 147,147,145,149,152,150 PSI it doesnt even sound like it wants to start it just keeps cranking...i think its not getting spark...i am thinking the control module (power transistor unit) thing on top of the spark plug cover is bad. I went to autoparts store for the 300zx one but they dont have in stock and its over $200..Do you guys think this is a problem?? Is there anyway i can test it? This sucks because its my daily driver and i wont have a car to drive until its fixed!! Thanks!! Tony
  8. check your IC piping...if there is oil inside the piping / intercooler your turbo is going out...mine is doing the same thing and just spews out oil from the compressor side into the intake tract and burning in the engine out the exhaust...WHITE SMOKE... that is your problem most likely.

  11. its really simple to install, sit down with the engine ecu pinout diagram, the s-afc2 diagram, wire cutters, solder, soldering iron, and electricical tape and you should get it done in 1-2 hours. I did mine and it works PERFECT...i love the apexi s-afc2.
  12. switched from regular oil to synthetic 10w-30...im thinking it needs a thicker oil such as 20w-50...
  13. no i just got it tuned its running 12.3 a/f ratio all throughout my rpm range....its defintley some oil burning..
  14. I switched to synthetic oil (mobil 1 10w-30 synthetic) and now everytime i get on the highway or be at high rpms and let off the gas it smokes like CRAZY from the exhaust...should i switch back to regular oil or should i just wait for my engine to get use to it?
  15. i got the bearing out with a pilot bearing remover tool and a slide hammer....really fast method...just rent one from the autoparts store
  16. yes mabru is correct... i figured it out. On the automatic, there is a bushing inside of the crank end (dont know what its called) for the automatic tranny. You have to pull this out before installing pilot bearing. I guess this is something a person would only know when doing from a auto->manual swap. My friend told me who did an 5speed swap on his s14! woot! hopefully ill get this all installed by tommarrow.
  17. I have the rb20det with automatic transmission and we pulled it all out. I am installing 5-speed. Now about the pilot bearing...There is a bearing in the crank and do i tap the manual pilot bearing into that or do i have to remove the automatic bearing thing?? Thanks Tony
  18. I paid $100USD for a brandnew high pressure walrbo 255 fuel pump. This is a really good pump...

  20. I have an apexi s-afc2 installed and it works great. works for z32 AFM and injectors up to 440cc for the rb20det. much cheaper than PFC also.
